The rain hasn't stopped so racing has been called off for the day.
Just before the event was called, the Wright Racing Top Fuel Dragster, which was in the pairing lanes, was taken back to the pits and fired up. Even here in Race Control, which must be at least a hundred yards from the Wright Racing pit, every "rump" of the throttle shook the building. Our colleagues from Bahrain were in the front row for the Top Fuel show, this was their first experience of Top Fuel and they reportedly jumped several feet in the air every time the throttle blipped. Our good friend Fahad Taqi tells us that he jumped but that some of the other guys (including the President of the Bahrain Drag Racing Club) "ran away"!
Stay tuned and we will bring you this morning's pit notes and today's pictures.
15:20
No sooner had the track crew cleaned up the oil from Jamie Sneddon's bike than it started to rain. Stay tuned and we will let you know as soon as we're ready to go again.

This morning's pit notes will be posted later on today on a separate page - we have started early here which means we haven't had time to finish them so stay tuned and they will be available later today.
The usual Raceday Good Morning to our US correspondents Ed O'Connell and Kathy Hileman who are tuned in from Rye, NH; hello also to Jeanette Webster and Sharon Hogarth who have dropped us a line to say Hi.
