Today's pictures have now been posted, you can view them via the Event Index.
As you can see from the timestamp above it is pretty late so we can't guarantee that tomorrow's pit notes are going to be particularly extensive (not least because your reporter has been up since 5:00 this morning and in addition to reporting on-line has at the same time been been track announcing alongside John Price for most of the day). But tune back in the morning and we'll let you know what we've found out, as well as bringing you all the news from eliminations.

As promised, here are the final top five qualifiers in each class now including ET and dial-in classes. Although a lot of this repeats what we have already reported below we figured it would be sensible to put them all in one place in class order.
We must say a big Thank You to everyone on APIRA's timing crew who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to do us the bike standings, especially in those classes which ran both quarter and eighth mile today since that has necessitated ploughing through the timing database to compare incrementals.

All bike classes are now running over the eighth mile because of a gusting side wind. We're going to give you the qualifiers as they stand after running over the eighth, with some classes having already run over the quarter things are going to get complicated so we'll stick with the eighth passes for now and then bring you the final standings at the end of the day.
Top Fuel Bike top qualifiers after session 1 (eighth mile):
Steve Carey, who is this weekend carrying new sponsorship from Mobil, was heading for the centre line and was off the throttle before half track, Steve Woollatt's rear slick went up in smoke off the line and then he lost a belt.

First time out for Steve Rawlings after the big breakage at the Easter Thunderball, and for Kev Perkins after his crash at the same race. Kev launched and stayed under power to about 250 feet.

We had a stop for an oildown after Ron Haffenden's Capri dropped what looked like all of the liquid content of the sump on the start line. Ron probably got a bit of a shock as the car made a hard turn when he hit the oil, but he held on to it.

We noticed Spencer Tramm's Corrado twitch to the right on the finish line, Spencer tells us that a pheasant ran out in front of him! Spencer managed to miss the pheasant.

Good morning and welcome from Shakespeare County Raceway on a very pleasant summer's morning. It's qualifying day for the Power Nationals and we're here to bring you the action in association with American Car Imports.
The Webster Race Engineering/MPM Oil webcam is on-line and broadcasting a picture every two minutes.
Trackside conditions right now are 17.5 C, 58% humidity, and 30.21 inches of air pressure. The track is looking very good and action is scheduled to commence at 9:30.
A big good morning and Get Well Soon to Ally Gowlett who is at home with a bug, we're missing you already Ally.
Our coverage plan for today is to try to keep up with the qualifying heads-up and index classes as much as we can by hand, and then to bring in the ET and other dial-in classes at the end of the day when we get the official qualifying sheets on paper. Of course we will also let you know how Roger Goring gets on in the Firestorm Jet FC. On the other side of the scales, keeping track of the qualifying in such detail means that there will not be very many start line photographs in today's update but Sharkman is poised with his camera at the top end to get shots from there.
Stay tuned and we will start to bring you the qualifying news very shortly.
