Screaming burnout from Bob, then a squirt of the throttle like a 1970s Funny Car test launch. Sounded like a transmission failure at the hit for Bob, the car hardly moved with the motor screaming. Nice pass for Neil, shut off at about 1200 feet.

Neil's crew not happy with something so shut him off. Pedal for Joe a few feet out then the tyres were obviously spinning as the revs started to rise and the altered made a move to the right. Joe shut off about 400 feet out. Same story as yesterday for Tony, pumping the throttle all the way down.

A great driving job by Matt Attwood as his car tried to write his name on the track on launch. Matt held on to it and kept it off the rail. Much amusement shortly afterwards as Rick McCann's dial-in was posted as 10.13 instead of 10.15, the mistake was corrected, and then Rick ran 10.13.

Good morning and welcome from Shakespeare County Raceway for our coverage of the Springspeed Nationals brought to you in association with American Car Imports.

The Webster Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam is on-line and posting a picture every sixty seconds.

Before we go any further we must again thank Nigel Statham whose mobile internet connection we are using. Simon Day and Wayne Schreier of the Tech Crew have been knocking themselves out to recover the usual internet access to Race Control so a big Thank You to them for their work.

We had a downpour of biblical proportions not long after qualifying finished yesterday. The rain only finished at about 9:30 this morning and the track crew are out doing their stuff. There is a stiff breeze this morning which is helping. Trackside conditions are 8.3 C, 98% humidity (probably a waterlogged sensor which we will sort out shortly) and 29.80 inches of air.

Today's schedule has another three cycles of qualifying. The track doesn't look too far off being ready so stay tuned and as soon as things start to move we'll be back with you.
