Supertwin ET qualifying top five after session 3: John Munday up into second.
Super Comp qualifying after session 3: An improvement for Brian but he stayed in place.
Nostalgia Fuel Altered Association session 2: Neil Townson 8.100/128.91 bye Neil pulled a 300-foot drifting burnout but rolled to nearly 1000 feet before returning. Over-staged but calmly came back and put in a nice run, feathering the throttle as the altered got close to the centre line. 18:05 Outlaw Anglia qualifying top five after session 3: An improvement for Colin but he stayed in #4. Same story for Steve and Simon, better ETs but stayed in place.
Outlaw Flat Four qualifying after session 3: No changes to the standings in this session.
Super Street Bike qualifying top five after session 3: Dave Smith up to #2 in mid-session. Two pairs later Steve Venables came into the top five at #5.
17:40 8.50 Bike qualifying top five after session 3: John McDonald in at #1 in the first pair, an improvement for Dave but he stayed in place. Next pair and Mike Winnard took over the lead. Mark Winder having been bumped out of the five at the start of this session came back in at #2 next pair. Very slight improvement for Ed next run but stayed in #5 at that point. Martin Wilson came back into the top five, #4 in the next pair.
Pro Stock Bike qualifying after session 3: Pro Stock Bike racer and Eurodragster.com Blogger Dave Beck popped in to see us to reassure us that he is A-OK after his spill in the shutdown area. "I saw a tenner in the grass and went to get it", he joiked. Dave said that an unfortunate combination of a bump and a gust of wind blew him into the grass - he said that the bike was going to the right whatever he did. Dave added that the bike is fine. Mark Smith made it into the ladder after problems in the earlier sessions.
17:30 9.50 Bike qualifying top five after session 3: Richard Beck and Martin Walker into #2 and #4 spots in the first pair. Another change next pair as Aaron Sparks came in at #3, then he was pushed down to #4 by Shaun Spiers.
Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying top five after session 3: Slight improvement for Ron but he stayed in place. Mats Andersson into the top five in the last pair of the session.
Super Street qualifying top five after session 3: Leigh improved still further to consolidate his #1 spot.
17:15 CC Medical Services Junior Drag Bike qualifying top five after session 3: Louis Davies into #1 spot in the second pair. 0.002 improvement for Jasmine in the next pair but she stayed in place. Next pair and Alfie improved slightly but similarly stayed in place.
Pro ET qualifying top five after session 3: Bob Molden into #2 spot.
Junior Dragster qualifying top five after session 3: Gabrielle back into #1 spot in the third pair of the session, one thousandth off the Eurodragster.com/Speedflow Perfect Light Award. Brad Jackson up into #5 on the fourth decimal place next pair. A couple of pairs later Joe Kellett came into the top five at #3.
16:35 Wild Bunch qualifying top five after session 2: Eurodragster.com sponsor Pete into #3 spot, then a couple of pairs later Adz Price came in at #3 pushing Adz down a place.
That's the end of qualifying cycle 2, we're now going into cycle 3. 16:25 Sportsman ET qualifying top five after session 2: Ian Petrie into #2 in the first pair, followed into the top five by Steve Unsworth and John Parker into #2 and #3 spot at that point pushing Petch down. Geoff Cowley took the lead in the last but one pair.
Super Gas qualifying after session 2: Steve up to #2 in the first pair.
16:20 Super Pro ET qualifying top five after session 2: Changes to the top five with John Atkinson and Dave Ward into the list, Jack Brewster improving but staying fourth, and Mark's earlier run now only good for fifth. Next observed run for Jayne Kay, scheduled for a half pass. Another well-controlled burnout, up to the top of second gear and shut off bang on the eighth, 10.483/85.51.
16:05 Super Comp qualifying after session 2: An improvement for Dave as he goes right-side and moves up a place.
16:00 Comp Bike qualifying after session 2: An improvement for Dave but he stayed in place. Next pair and Ivan Birch took the lead, then Stu Crane moved up to #2 next run.
Funny Bike qualifying after session 2: Big improvement for Kev but he was fighting the bike so when it goes straight there is more to come. Improvement for Dave in the last pair and he moved up a place.
15:50 Supertwin Gas qualifying after session 2: Improvement for Dave and getting close to the class speed record. Improvement too for Joe Elliott but Chris Mott moved up into second in the last pair of the session.

15:35 Super Street Bike qualifying top five after session 2: Slight improvement for Dave but he stayed #3 at that point. Richard Hann into #5 spot alongside him. Dave Holland bumped Richard down a spot, taking #5 in the last pair but one.
15:25 Outlaw Flat Four qualifying after session 2: Improvement for Peter in the first pair but he stayed in place. Great pass for Bernie, deep into the nines to hold on to #1 spot and a big improvement for James to put him #2.
15:10 We're on hold for spots of rain. Outlaw Anglia qualifying top five after session 2: Great side-by-side race between Colin and Rob put them #3 and #4 respectively. Big improvement for Colin. Improvement for Steve but he stayed in place, Simon up to #3 and getting back towards the eights.
14:55 Pro Stock Bike qualifying after session 2: "Session 2?" I hear you ask. Only Jerry Collier turned out for session 1 and his motor stopped at the hit. Dave Beck is OK having taken a tumble after his bike went into the grass at the side of the track in the shutdown area. The safety crew were there in moments, but Dave got himself up and we could see him walking around before he was carted off to the Medical Centre for a check-up.
14:40 8.50 Bike qualifying top five after session 2: Rob Lee into the top five in the first pair. Mark Winder into #1 next pairing. Having been bumped out of the top five, Dave Batchelor came back in next pair taking over the lead. Next pair and Ed Smiley moved up to #2. Andy Fawcett up into #3 next run. Plenty of changes in that session!
14:35 Super Street qualifying top five after session 2: Chris up into third place in the second pair. Neil Grant into the top five at #5 in the last run of the session.
14:30 Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying top five after session 2: Jason and Ron into #1 and #3 respectively in the first pair. Improvement for Fatty but no change in position. Same story next pair for Eurodragster.com sponsor Bill. Brian up into #1 spot in the last pair and that was with three pedals so plenty left in there.

14:10 Junior Dragster qualifying top five after session 2: Morgan up into #1 in the third pair of the session, Rhiannon into fifth alongside her. Next pair and Josh moved up to #3. Claire and Joshua moved up into #2 and #3 respectively in the last but one pair.
13:50 Nostalgia Fuel Altered Association session 1: Neil Townson 7.839/190.48 def. Joe Bond 21.164/36.26 Neil got a big holeshot. Joe was off the throttle by sixty feet after a couple of pedals. Neil's altered used both sides of its lane but he held onto it, some smoke in the shutdown area. 13:45 Pro ET qualifying top five after session 2: Dave Cherrett briefly took the lead only to be supplanted by Billy Gane next pair.

Big cloud of smoke from Eurodragster.com sponsor Bill McDermid's Camaro in the shutdown area. Track checked and found to be OK so hopefully nothing untoward. 08:30 Good morning and welcome from Shakespeare County Raceway for our coverage of the Open Sport Nationals brought to you in association with American Car Imports. The Webster Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam is on-line and broadcasting a picture every sixty seconds. No live webcam this weekend as we are using mobile broadband via a 3G stick. Big thanks to Nigel Statham without whose Virgin stick this coverage wouldn't be happening as Eurodragster.com's own 3G stick is Vodafone and the Vodafone signal is next to non-existent here at SCR. It's a beautiful day here right now, not a cloud in the sky and a gentle breeze. The track is looking good which is quite an achievement since it has rained more or less non-stop here for a couple of weeks. That's hopefully over and done with now. A big Hello to our Pit Reporter Simon, who has a family commitment this weekend which means no pit notes but he will of course be back at the FIA European Finals. Hope is all goes OK this weekend Simon. Qualifying is due to start at 10:00 with Pro ET and we have three complete cycles planned. We'll be tracking the top fives in each class.
