This is a dial-your-own doorslammer class with slicks and modified suspension allowed. Cliff Turner with a chassis twisting launch alongside Ethan Lisle who went into #1 with the Roadrunner. Sally Woolner triggered the beam giving her a 5s 60ft and off the pace ET, but more sessions later.
Some double classing for instance GC racer Steve Matthews. Pro ET racer Brett Featherstone into #3. Lee Chiles and Chris Goodale both double classing from NSS, into #8 and #9 respectively on breakouts. Then Stuart Thompson and Paul Smail into #10 and #5.

Non-championship round, hence the 'Tryouts'. Great to see Tony Higgs back, on it with his first pass in the Capri alongside a quick run for Russ Pursley in his Dutton (former editor Tog reports this event is Russ's first after contacting the Melbourne Raceway barrier last year). Victoria Smith, a star of the RWYB running in the eights with her Buick GS went quicker still, PB of 8.6495/167.29, well done Victoria!
On hold for a few spots of rain. After a few minutes, Mark Sheridan went into the sevens at almost 200mph, 1.3782 60ft, to go #1. Several TAZ Racing cars in the mix, Tom Semper (100e), Darren Scannell (Escort Mk1), Dave Arnold (Trans Am). Good to see Phil Winstanley's sleeper Morris Minor competing as well.

Good morning and welcome to day 2 of our coverage of the 29th Mopar Euro Nationals from Santa Pod Raceway. The skies are sunny with just a few clouds, temperatures 17C and forecast to reach 21C with wind of 18mph from the west. Density altitude is 1300ft rising to 1800ft with water grains 67 falling to 57.
Yesterday we had eight hours of run what ya brung with an impressive array of vehicles, muscle cars and classic British machines. There will be more run what ya brung today and racing commences with qualifying in the four classes running ladders and eliminations. There will be 16 car ladders for Gasser Circus, Street Eliminator try-outs, and Nostalgia Eliminator, whilst Nostalgia Superstock will have a 64 car ladder.
In Gasser Circus, commiserations to Tony Pearson who was a late entry in his Guzzler '56 Chevy following a rebuild over winter with a fresh BBC and TH400 and the car has been on a diet. On Friday however the gearbox hato come out of the car and repairs are not possible. We look forward to seeing you run at the next GC event Tony! Thanks to Scott for delivering the class notes.
