Robin Orthodoxou against Rob Smallworth, who pulled a Perfect Light and wins £50 from Bad Habit Racing, also winning the race as Robin couldn't catch him.

14:15 VW Pro eliminations round 1 Paul Jackson's car sat on the line, was eventually able to idle down track. Jonathan Newall in the Lagster overtook Lee Cordery. Luke Stevenson overtook Graham Fairhead and ran close to his dial, great run. Phil Blogg took the win despite a somnolent reaction. Later re-run for Paul Jackson and James Hodson after earlier timing system glitch, revised results shown.
14:10 Hutchinson & Dibley Sportsman ET eliminations round 2 Georgina Smith broke out against Chris Redshaw, Steve West defeated Kirstie with the better RT.
14:05 Tony Morris Carburetors Super Gas eliminations round 1 Breakout for Tim Moore against Jon Morton who was first off the line. Andy Harrison holeshot Jon Turner, Collin Morrice defeated Simon Fulton whose transmission issues continued and wasn't able to stage. Dave Fulton defeated Jon Giles in a battle of non throttle stop cars. Marc Huxley defeated a late leaving Mark White.
13:55 Atlantic Fluid Tech 9.50 Bike eliminations round 1 Double breakout for Carl Thomas and Andy Head, Carl by the least for the win. Rick Sawatzki away first over Dion Hartley, Dave Hall closer and quicker RT

Then #1 qualifier Craig Wright upset by Andy Haley who gets a bye in round 2. Solo for Jonny Hines who drifted to the right and gathered it back. No show for Jas Cordelle against Stacey Reed who ran a great closer amd Gary Malone over Dan De'ath who struggled with gears.
Renegade Outlaw Anglia eliminations round 1 Colin Millar shut off for a leak against Doug McClure, was not to be this time. 1.0221 to 60ft and 7.0832/180.86 for sponsor Jon Webster, well done Jon and team! Mick Taylor defeated Barry Woodford who rolled the beams to a red. Ben Kennedy getting burnout lessons from JT we suspect, but not able to stage as Rob Stone went through.
13:40 Lucas Oil Junior Dragster eliminations round 2 Red light for Freddie Taylor against Daniel Weir, Luke Fulton had quicker RT against 2021 class champion Harry Redshaw, battle of the Cooper brothers with Jake taking the win on a holeshot. Heads up race between Harley Coulsell and Lara Bartlett, both on a 7.94 dial, Lara wins on ET. Daniel Todd beat Liam McDonald on both RT and close to dial. Jessica Bishop closer to ET beat Purdie Hadfield.
13:30 Modurstang Pro ET eliminations round 2 Mason Griffiths a quicker RT than Adrian Portelli, Simon Gough caught Chloe Wilkins, Dan Holloway his first round win with The Rattler against Andrew Garnett's Tesla, Stuart Thompson caught Al Medley, Amy Watkins had the better RT against Dave Rudd's immaculate Cobra. Ronnie Mercer the better reaction against Dave Fulton, Will Clark won over a red lighting Marc Huxley, Brett Featherstone over John Bean.

No show for Al Williamson, giving Paul Morton his first round win, Paul off the throttle by 1000ft. No show for Mark Sheridan against Nigel Hale in the postcode-on-wheels. Tony Higgs overtook Nick Hale on track for the win, Elliot Day (dad Dave drove for Elliot on the cruise due to lack of insurance cover for the 17 year old Elliot) against Al McSweeney, Elliot spun the tyres and Al went through. Andy Bond with 1.19 60ft and 7.06 his quickest so far on the new narrower tyres.

Jason shut off, likely for oil pressure, as Steve went towards pre-stage. Steve launched and shut off around 300ft, 1.0070 to 60ft, 4.1101/149.98. Solid start for Steve, disappointment for Jason with Mark and Jackie Hawkins. Steve's car stuck in shut down area, likely with locked up transmission, having to be removed either by disengaging the driveline coupler or with dollies under the rear wheels. Kevin K off the line first 0.1503 to 0.5565, and quickest to 60ft 0.9485 to 0.9822 then by the eighth Kevin C was in the lead 3.5181/232.65 to 3.9944/140.55 as Kevin K was slowing with a problem. Jake Boden had a -0.005 red light against Carl Hester who broke out. Red for Allan Davies against Scott Collier. Jack Hartley took the win against a late Blade King in a double breakout.

10:50 Taylor's Trophy Super Street Bike eliminations round 1 Steve Wood in as alternate for Mark Dainty, but got an upset win light when Al Morrison went skyward on the launch. Ross Morrison pushed back against Steve Venables who ran 222.31mph for first half of another ACU speed record. Jake Mechaell out, and no Margot Schmidt (suffering food poisoning, get well soon) as alternate giving Dave Smith a bye run. Daniel Lencses on a bye as Steve Mead a no show, not a perfect run for him.

10:40 Lucas Oil Junior Dragster eliminations round 1 Welcome to Lucas Oil marketing co-ordinator Roo Pitt who is in the tower for his sponsored class's eliminations, Lucas also donated goodie bags and a #1 qualifier trophy. #1 qualifier Mackenzie Love won against Damion Redshaw and gets a bye in round 2. Harry Peters in the ex Rough Diamond car of Scott Gibbons. Problem for Ted Sullivan who came to a halt on track. Final pair were sisters Lara and Jacqueline Bartlett, with dad Keith looking on. Staging duel for a few seconds, then 0.0027 or 3.54inches win margin for Lara.
10:20 Peter Nee Super Pro ET eliminations round 1 John Tebenham with a bye run courtesy #1 qualifying position. Smoke for Steve Johnson who had red lit against Scott Hauser. Joe Kellett in the Dolly Daydream car after problems with his own dragster. Joe Kellett with a holeshot win over Pel Norman, great race, and gets a bye in round two to boot. Perfect ET sponsor Andy Hadfield broke out in chase mode against Billy Gane, smoke from Twister in the shutdown area. John Atkinson slowed after the launch against Barry Giles, not sure what the issue was. First seven for Jack Brewster in a losing effort against Collin Morrice, Jack's chutes out however he had caught the quarter mile blocks. Aaron Fensome a no-show against Brian Pateman after the dragster's engine lost a blower belt in his final qualifying run. Aaron reported "The car had been running very well up till we had a rod fail at 1/8 mile on a strong run and unfortunately there isn�t much left of the engine. On the plus side I won the main Super Pro award for best reaction with a 0.002 light and managed to get a PB in the car with a 7.02/198mph." Mark Turner with a replacement seal in his transmission thanks to many competitors who came to his aid, a true characteristic of our sport. 0.0085 light for Mark in his win against Phil Toppin. Great race between Ian Brown and sponsor Peter Walters, Peter coming out on top. Ron Bartlett back to winning ways with a holeshot against Dave Russell. Ashley Bell won against a red-lighting Lee Darby, the win margin invalid for the award as a result. Paul Marston broke against Bob Doyle due to a broken and a bent pushrod on the burnout.

Existing results stand. 08:45 Good morning and welcome to the final day of our Festival of Power coverage from Santa Pod Raceway. We are fortunate with mainly clear skies and temperature of 10C forecast to rise to 17C with wind of 13mph. Qualifying was completed yesterday and so it's on to eliminations today. The larger classes such as Super Pro ET, Pro ET, Sportsman ET, VW Sportsman and Junior Dragster will all have five rounds and so they will be up first. You can see the overall running order plus these via our event index. We had some great highlights from yesterday. In Top Fuel Dragster Ida Zetterström showed she has the measure of these machines by going 3.8379/264.63, the eighth mile time of 3.0175/281.10 being the quickest in Europe to date and definitely one of those 'might have been' runs. Kevin Kent made a full pass in his West 10 Motorsports Funny Car to 4.4621/245.47 to head up the class. Motorsports UK Pro Modified is led by a seemingly re-energised Michel Tooren who ran 5.9420/243.73 just after Andy Robinson had run 5.971/245, his first five in his new Anger Management 2.0 car. In the bikes, Neil Midgley made headlines when he ran a five on only his second pass on the Cannon Engineering Puma machine, 5.8656/200.63 making h. However the team have withdrawn the bike from competition in order to work on how Neil can safely slow it in the shut down area, an entirely understandable decision as someone said that in riding one of these machines, the excitement starts at the finishing line.
