Street Eliminator exhibition run
Santa Pod Raceway CEO Keith Bartlett launched in his Mercury Comet, the car went to the left past the Christmas tree and then hooked hard right and went head on into the wall, the car coming to a rest just before half track. The medical team were on the scene immediately and Keith walked away from his car which sustained front end damage. Pause for track crew to recover the car and clean up.

On the restart Graham Sykes on the Mistral Triumph 750cc suffered loss of power along the track to 24.934/37.42, then Colin Fallows (Super Cyclops) on a solo 11.874/120.12 as Matt Norman with Conquest 2 had problems after starting up on the rollers.
Then first appearance for Terry Homan on Ramrod from the 1960s, 12.956/82.57 v Tim Howell on his supercharged BSA Lightning 11.944/114.76. Followed by Ray Law with his 1000cc Triumph as ever brought to the line on a dolly, 10.858/134.15 strong run. Pause for track cleanup.
On the restart Matt Norman on Conquest 2 12.510/106.20. Then drama for Jan Honee as the Jawa moved forward under power as Jan was climbing on it following a post burnout check, Jan being thrown off it against the wall by the Christmas tree as the throttle blipped, after which the bike went down the track on idle, continuing until after the finish line when it made gentle contact with both right and left walls. Jan who was winded by the incident but alert and conscious was attended to by medical and taken to hospital for a check up.

Good morning and welcome to day 3 of our coverage of Dragstalgia from Santa Pod Raceway. The weather is perfect today, not a cloud in the sky and temperature already at 19C and forecast to rise to 26C. The wind is a negligible 7mph, and density altitude is expected to be 1000-1800ft.
We saw some great qualifying yesterday with the fields now set for Nostalgia Superstock, Gasser Circus, Outlaw Anglia and Old Skool Stockers. There will also be further sessions in Supercharged Outlaws, Wild Bunch and Willys Wars. Also look out for the special event awards to be made at the end of day and the British Drag Racing Hall of Fame auction which will take place in the Marquee and we'll report the results of in the news in a few days time.
Hi to all Eurodragsterholics who are following the coverage. We thank Kieran for a gallery of photos from the well attended event at Dakota Raceway in Devon from yesterday, and also say hi to Wendy Baker who is in the pits here prior to making a run today. Team member Chris Eyre said yesterday "We are trying our absolute hardest to get the car together. The pile of parts is now car shaped and we are just running through it all now. All being well fingers crossed for tomorrow." Good luck to Wendy and the other Cannonball competitors who put on such a great show yesterday.
Happy Birthday for today to former Street Eliminator racer Gary Gooding and sometime commentator Paul Venners who returned to the mic at last weekend's European Bug-In from Chimay, Belgium, we hope you have recovered Paul!
