Nick Davies 6.0145/242.88 v Annie Wallace 6.2675/225.62. Great side by side race after Nick went straight into stage and reversed out whilst Annie waited. Both straight down the track, 1.0340 and 3.9838/191.97 incrementals for Nick, 1.0193 and 4.0940/179.55 for Annie.
Kev Slyfield 6.0312/235.28 v Andy Robinson 5.9315/246.35. #1 and #2 in the points and in qualifying. Andy took the #1 spot leaving first and getting 1.0105 and 3.9241/193.61 incrementals to Kev's 1.0007 and 3.9519/188.12.

Kevin Kent 5.5751/130.55 v Jason Phelps 11.1174/54.03. Welcome back to John 'Bodie' Smith who is with Kevin Kent. Jason pushed back with the engine still firing, indicating lack of reverse gear for him, but the car staged as normal as Kevin waited patiently. Kevin had good forward motion 0.9603 and lifted after 330ft, 5.575/149.43 to the eighth. Jason reached 60ft in 1.0452 and the car then slowed markedly, to the eighth 7.06/61.94. Great crowd reaction to this pair of nitro burners.
Steve Ashdown 6.320/108.07, engine sounding strong on the launch, 1.0415 to 60ft and 4.3146/127.53 with Steve clicking it just before the eighth. Cylinders stayed lit while Steve was on the throttle and just a slight puff of smoke after Steve lifted.

Jon Webster 6.6212/202.57. Great burnout for Jon in the left lane. Tyre spin off the line for some distance, 1.2001 60ft then 4.4036/177.73 to half track, slight early lift, promising start and those staging problems now in the past.
Wayne Nicholson pushed back v Annie Wallace 6.8677/196.17. Softish run for Annie, 1.0193 to 60ft and 4.3415/154.11 to half track, soft sounding run as engine not reaching full revs. Wayne's engine stopped just before the 330ft reflector and track cleanup with the 'shoe' to remove a little fluid spillage.

Good morning and welcome to day 2 of our coverage of Bug Jam. The weather is again cloudy with temperature of 16C forecast to rise to 22C, with a 16mph southwesterly wind. Density altitude which was around 1500ft yesterday is forecast to be higher, around 2000ft by mid afternoon.
We saw some good testing runs yesterday and will see more of the same this morning. Qualifying commences at 2pm this afternoon and will continue to 7pm including two more qualifying sessions for Fuel Funny Car and three for Motorsport UK Pro Modified, Hutchinson & Dibley Sportsman ET, Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator, VW Pro, VW Sportsmand and Outlaw Flat Four with Jet exhibition runs too.
Greetings to all Eurodragsterholics, particularly not only those who are here at Santa Pod but also fans who are at Clastres in France and Sundsvall in Sweden. Our bike pit reporter Mike Kraaij is looking after the Super Twin Top Gas competition at Clastres and best wishes to Mike. Many of the racers at Sundsvall will be headed towards Tierp in a couple of weeks time, we look forward to seeing you all there.
