The cars were sent back for the cars and drivers to cool down. On the second attempt Dave went straight in, Andy bumped over stage.

Ricardo Leite's team spraying NOS into the intercooler to keep the temperature down, but Ricardo stopped off the line leaving the win to Adrian Solly with one of his best runs. Marc Taylor off the line as Dean Hyndman came to a halt off the line and was pushed back. Ahmed Jamshaid kept ahead of a speeding Darren Dewhurst. Joe Stevens with another seven against Buzz Pattar who wheelied and then slowed down track. Dave Mace pulled ahead of Asim Hussain, Al McSweeney running without a bonnet against Harvey Bhogal, Al Mc pedaled but ahead of Harvey who lifted. Final pair Brian Pateman left ahead of Andy Bond and ran one of his best ever times.
Followed by time trial for Simon Swarbrick, 11.0053/126.90, very close to his 10 second goal.

Lee Huxley with a great RT over Buzz Pattar who still ran a great time. Keith Herbert beat Jon Turner who had a great 0.0173 RT, MOV 0.0434. Red light for Pete Lane against Spencer Tramm, red for Keith Bartlett against winner Simon Innes, 0.0095 red for Nic Williams against Guy King who ran a perfect ET, Simon Gough over Lee Pike with better RT. Brett Featherstone red lit against Billy Gane, Harrison Brown with better RT and right side of his dial over Geoff Cowley, Tom Atkinson over James Oliver who slowed a little too much, John Tebenham broke out against Dave Cherrett, MOV 0.0234, Marc Huxley over Jordan Payne who has had some tough races over the weekend. Graham Fairhead the winner against Michael Mooney, keeping our sweepstake money safe. Andy Hughes ahead of Lee Connor who had gear selections. No show for Chris Waterhouse alongside Abi Tether. Team matchup between Kev Jenkins and his crew chief Chris Todd, Chris into pre stage very quickly and purging his nitrous, Kev long gone to a great 7.975/170, close to the left wall but not lifting for anything. Adam Skinner (Luke Stevenson's sweepstake pick) pushed back against Dave Crowhurst who ran a nice 9.62/142.15. Jordan Legard pulled away against Donald Harvey who suffered a carb fire on launch and pulled to the side.
On the restart Stuart Meads pulled a red and ran his best of the weekend as Richard Prydden slowed. Pause for clean-up in left lane, the draw being made for second round of FWD.
Bye runs for Tom Semper (who has a Procharger on his 100e), Nigel Hull in his Beetle, Lucas Daglish, Maria Bachtsevanidou (with new clutch in her Audi TT), Simon Knief, Darren Scannell, Paul Jordan (who had to install a new driveshaft overnight), the last three idling down the track. No show for Jonny Marriage who broke and couldn't find parts and Dion Sewell.

Phil Thomas in chase mode against winner Adrian Solly, Allan Duthie pulled away from Oliver St Quintin, marquee matchup Matt Davison pulled ahead but faded at 1000 ft giving slower leaver Terry Newton the win. Jose Leite with a 0.0302 MOV over Lee Openshaw, Helder Pereira easy win over Karl Monks despite a 0.45s worse reaction time. Dean Hyndman left later then passed Ethan Lisle for the win. Stephen Ray kept ahead of Anthony Mincher. Marc Taylor off the line second but passed Ben Faggetter. Tom Herbert away first, passed by Ricardo Leite. Next visitor from Poland Pawel Pietrzak and Ian Pepper, Pawel pulled away from Ian's only-just-completed Vauxhall Nova. Close leave between Darren Dewhurst who put out favourite Craig Evans in a side by side mid 10s race. Andy Nicholls stayed ahead of Carl Goldsmith. Jonathan Prout was shut down against Calvin Skerritt for fluid, Calvin making a gentle pass, short break for clean-up. Last pair Ahmed Jamshaid left and stayed ahead of Jacob Bailey. Good morning and welcome to the third day of our coverage of VW Action and VP Racing Fuels Doorslammers from Santa Pod Raceway. It's a lovely day, sunny with just a few wispy clouds, temperature now 15C and forecast to rise to 21C with a tail wind of 7mph. Ideal weather for racing.
Yesterday we had open qualifying in all Doorslammer classes plus the OCS Group Big Bracket in which Keith Herbert was the delighted winner of a big £2,500 cheque, with Pete Lane as the runner up with a prize of £1,000. Today the OCS Group Big Bracket is repeated for the same prize fund and there will be big money too for the Doorslammer classes.
The draw for the first round pairings in the Doorslammer classes took place yesterday evening. You can see the complete line-up in yesterday's race report and we will update you on the draws for subsequent rounds as each round up to semi final will be drawn by lot. There were a lot of personal bests which we will list after the event, sadly some of these resulted in breakage which explains any missing names in the first round pairings.
Greetings to Eurodragsterholics everywhere, and thanks to those who have written in with compliments on the coverage and galleries. We have two racer Birthday greetings this morning, a very Happy Birthday to Pro Modified racer Wayne Nicholson and to Pro Doorslammer racer and Pro Modified team member Tony Underhill, have a great day guys. Tony may or may not have a relaxing day today as despite Tony and his team's immense efforts, the Willys Sedan didn't qualify for the Pro Doorslammer class. However, grudge racing will be allowed to take place during gaps in the show, so we may see Tony back on track later.
