Good morning and welcome to day 1 of our coverage of VW Action / VP Racing Fuels Doorslammers from Santa Pod Raceway. The weather is dry and cloudy with temperature of 16C forecast to rise to 19C with winds of 11mph. The programme today is for Run What Ya Brung and Doorslammers qualifying from around 10:00 throughout the day, with a 30 minute break for lunch, until 18:00. There will then be a drivers meeting in the Announcement Area next to the Pod Shop.

The qualifying will be open and SPR's timing crew will be updating a spreadsheet from which we will extract results at regular intervals, in addition to which we will comment on the on-track action. So sit back and see how the day develops.

Greetings to Eurodragsterholics everywhere, in particular our colleague Kirstie who will be here to support Tom Atkinson in tomorrow's Big Bracket, and to our big fans Kai Plathan with his faithful Otto from Finland, and sponsor of the site Bob Roberts. We've a couple of Top Fuel crew birthdays to mention today, a belated Happy Birthday to Laurie Bamford for yesterday, and to Paul Spaxman today, hope you had or are having a great day and see you at the Euro Finals Shootout.

Action will start around 10:00 and the live stream will commence about that time too. No Nitro FM this weekend, so keep an eye on social media to catch the stream. We'll report as soon as racing starts.
