Paul Dale having run a PB 8.39/163 to an arrow straight 8.5. Andy 'Fadster' Hadfield with a 250ft burnout, looked a softer launch than before which were lively, to say the least. Next Steve Clarke and the debut pass for The Good Guys Topolino which we featured in our news update last Monday, engine shut off for a problem and pushed back, welcome back to racing Steve and Nigel Rigden! Later, great debut pass of 12.1842/102.36, well done Steve and Nigel!

Another PB for Luke Stevenson, well done Luke! Ed Keech into #1, then Graham Fairhead into #1 a couple of pairs later. Good run for Carl Goldsmith but breaks out. Alex Knott's Highly Medicated Beetle with a new paint scheme against Jacob Bailey. James Hodson into #2, and in the next pair Rob Carter's Audi into #2. Paul Jordan left before the tree activated, no times for him or Marc Taylor who left shortly afterwards. Some smoke and a misfire from Simon Crowley's FWD Mk1 Golf. Dave Crowhurst a no-show for this session.

Followed by Keith Freeman in El Loco who ran a strong pass but no time or speed recorded. Next up is the 'Human Powered Race', followed at 4pm by qualifying.

Andy Raw (Nitro Bug Beetle) vs Rob Elsom (Dirty Deeds Camaro). Slightly drifting burnout for Andy, but Rob's engine cut out after his burnout and he was pushed back. Andy got out of the groove after 300ft and lifted, 1.0532 to 60ft and 4.5813/121.77 to half track, 8.8521/89.09 quarter mile ET.

Top Fuel Dragster session 2
Ida Zetterström licensing pass: burnout to 330ft, following careful track prep with the counter rotator. Ida needs to do a half pass and two full passes to have her license signed off. 4.1103/210.97, a very quick 0.8363 to 60ft, 3.0748/248.15 to the eighth, a straight half pass and off the throttle just after 660ft. Two full passes required, next scheduled run 17:00.
Susanne Callin exhibition run: Gary Page brought Susanne into stage, 3.9919/250.85, no 60ft time, 3.1208/273.55 the eighth, a great pass, off the throttle just before the stripe. Strong pass, little apparent tyre shake, Susanne's second three second pass! Gary Page had told us that there was some tyre spin after the eighth so lifting the throttle slightly early wisely avoided mechanical damage, a split second judgment too!

Jet cars exhibition session 1
Jet action as Oklahoma Willy was taken down the track by Perry Watkins reaching 145mph at the finish line. Perry was followed by Martin Hill in Foreforce 5 who gave the crowd a great flame and thunder show followed by a 5.56648/188.86, 0.9700 to 60ft and 3.5990/226.66 to half track and clicking it at 1000ft. We're now on a lunch break for the track crew, will be back at around 1pm.

Run What Ya Brung
The SPR Mustangs are being driven by Lee and Brian Huxley this weekend, Lee in the black and Brian in the white one. Paul Dale ran an amazing PB 8.3975/163.65 off the trailer, outstanding pass and well done to Paul and the team! Al McSweeney suffered tyre spin off the line after bringing the boost up in the Evolvolotion Volvo.
VW Pro racer Michael Mooney has taken his "Flat Le Rat" Beetle down the track to some consistent passes, the best yesterday being 12.2810/108.83. In Outlaw Flat Four, Johnny Marriage had a broken gearbox but overnight has transplanted his road Beetle's gearbox in with a gentle 13s run not wanting to overstress it in RWYB. Also testing this morning, Paul Bate in his Orange Street Beast By Flat Four Performance, who has made four runs yesterday and a best of 10.8990/125.21 this event. Simon Crowley brought out his FWD VW Pickup and ran a best yesterday evening of 10.9843/123.83.
Gasser Circus match-up between Tony Pearson and Steve Matthews, Steve first with 10.6026/136.22 to Tony's 10.8084/123.42, followed by Jason Hollamby to a 10.9391/122.71 in Jumpin' Jalopeno.

Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator Damian Halliwell has been putting in several test passes in the mid tens, the best a 10.549/127.97. Al McSweeney came to the line in his Volvo 162 Coupe but was pushed back to the head of the pairing lanes with a problem.
Perfect ET sponsor and Supercharged Outlaws co-ordinator Andy 'Fadster' Hadfield on his first run today, chirped his way into stage and the car drifted over to the right, pedaled twice to 8.2145/165.45, most entertaining. Gary Parkes with Purple Daze ran a 8.1028/170.44. Then Mike Couch burnt out with his 304cu in Hemi, having to be pushed back by his team and startline marshal Bob. Mike hit the rev limiter at the top end to a 8.961/137.70 with a 1.3544 launch, nice straight pass.

Good morning and welcome to our Bug Jam coverage from Santa Pod Raceway. The weather here is cloudy with temperatures of 16C rising to 22C with wind of 13-16mph.
Yesterday was Run What Ya Brung from 12:00 through to 19:15 with a large proportion of VWs, but also Supercharged Outlaws and Top Fuel demo runs including Ida Zetterström's first two licensing passes. Ida made the runs with flying colours as you can see from the video stream and ran 3.8630/143.85 to the eighth. Not to be outdone, Susanne Callin came out late afternoon and ran an outstanding 3.9556/267.09 to 1000ft, remarkable stuff!
In Supercharged Outlaws, Perfect ET Award sponsor Andy 'Fadster' Hadfield really had Twister launching hard with the wheels up, and scored 7.6835/177.73 and 7.9592/167.30 in his best runs of the day. Also running from the Outlaws were Keith Freeman, David Mccallan and Gary Parke. A large number of VWs were also on track and notable were runs from VWDRC Chair Luke Stevenson in his VR6 engined dragster going a best of 9.8752/136.88. Also Dave Crowhurst in his rebuilt Wanger went 9.583/141 and James Wotton in his Outlaw Flat Four went 9.472/145, amazing times for flat four VW based engines.
