Marck Harteveld 10.2146/79.53 bye, Kev Slyfield shut off
Kev's blower belt broke in the burnout and that was his race done. Marck took the bye, 1.0086 to sixty with shake past the Tree, motor note started to rise and the Bird went left,
shut it off before 330 feet. Cruising through the eighth at 5.1726/96.94.

Kev strapped a 0.0501 to 0.2040 holeshot on Jean, 0.9897 to sixty driving through shake with motor note rising. Jean to
sixty in 1.0112, bery little sign of shake in his lane. Kev's shake quit about 150 feet out, move right but nothing
serious. Kev visibly ahead at the eighth 3.8935/189.39 to Jean's 3.9888/188.04 and took the stripe by 0.2670.
Next pair fired up then told to shut off, some activity at the end of the shutdown area.
Marck Harteveld 6.0957/227.92 def. Nick Davies 10.9321/80.37
Marck very briefly up on the rvs then off them again as Nick spooled up the turbos before edging in. Nick visibly
moved first 0.0862 to 0.1558, to sixty in 1.0311. Marck to sixty in 1.0114 with visible shake, the shake continued to
about 200 feet and the car was moving left but where Marck started to pull it back is exactly where the shake marks stop. Nick off
the gas before 330 feet, looked from here like vapour from under the car. Marck to the eighth in
4.0066/186.21 having lost time to shake, Nick cruising at 5.5921/88.74.
Mick Payne followed with a 7.2871/205.17 checkout pass.

#1 qualifier bye for Kev. Short burnout, on the green let go of the brakes and idled a few feet then shut it off and was
pushed back.
Marck Harteveld 6.2889/214.80 def. Mick Payne 9.2256/103.36
Mick's tyres didn't light on the burnout, 150-foot effort for Marck. Marck with the revs up at the last possible moment.
Mick away first 0.1498 to 0.2121, Marck to sixty in 1.0140 with front end up in the air and tyres shaking, 1.2814 tor Mick.
Marck's front end took a long tmie to come down, a pedal to stop the back end unloading. Time lost to the eighth 4.1265/178.91
but a visible lead over Mick 5.1240/117.64, Mick shut it off in the second half.
Nick Davies 6.2337/239.84 def. Jon Webster 7.4621/114.95
Nick away first 0.0745 to Eurodragster.com sponsor Jon's 0.1126, Nick had the better sixty 1.0213 to Jon's
1.0730. Nick drove through shake which we felt up here in Race Control, shake stopped about 200 feet
out then the tyres were blackstriping. Jon's tyres were squealing for the first hundred feet or so. Nick to the
eighth in 4.1607/186.98 but all eyes on Jon at the eighth 4.1942/164.11 as there was a puff of smoke and then a
thud and a big flash of flame and Jon had the anchors out. Meanwhile Nick's car was heading for the centre line
but he had it covered,Jon stopped on the shutdown area with the motor still smoking. Safety crews were with him
very quickly as soon as Nick was out of the way. Hold for clean-up in the shutdown area.
Jean Dulamon 6.1013/233.96 def. Wayne Nicholson 6.4013/207.92
Short but aggressive-sounding burnout for Wayne. Wayne just away first 0.1328 to 0.1428 and to sixty in 0.9995
to Jean's 1.0232. Waybe had shake to contend with, the Vette heading gently left but the shake cleared up
by about 200 feet. Didn't look like much shake for Jean but the Camaro was also heading left, Jean pulled it
back with the pipes spitting flame. Advantage Jean at the eighth 3.9998/186.49, Wayne lost some time to the
shake 4.1548/175.42 and then looked to shut it off just before the stripe. Jean first to the stripe by 0.2900.
Again good luck Gareth and Amy.
Wendy Baker followed in the new Time Warp Nostalgia FC. Steering problems yesterday initially looked to be sorted
today but then passing back across the start line the car went left, Wendy was steering and on the brake but not much happening
and the car ended up rear-ending the middle upright of Race Control. It was briefly quite a lively ride up here. Wendy
is quite OK and damage to the car appears to be limited to the rear right quarter of the body. We have already had enquiries
after us, many thanks for your concern, we are all OK up here in the Tower.

The Wild Bunch are running against fixed dial-ins set at the start of the day. Average closest to dial-in wins,
breakouts are counted, but a red light or not turning up for a session get you removed from the standings. First pair and
a big cloud of smoke from Callum Swinchatt's motor in the shutdown area, track checked and all OK. Alan Loten didn't
make it to the bleach box for his run with Phil James.

It's another very pleasant day here at Santa Pod, a high haze and mild. The track is all done and we're ready for
an 09:30 start.
The traditional Raceday Good Morning to our US Correspondent Kathy Hileman who is tuned in from NH, hope

Gasser Circus, the Wild Bunch and the Tri Chevy Shootout. Pro Modified eliminations are due at 10:30, 13:50 and
16:40. As ever with Pro Modified I will do my best to update between each pair so keep hitting Refresh.
