FIM Europe Top Fuel Bike qualifying session 4 (left lane first)
Stu Crane 7.2567/178.53 bye; Glenn Borg 8.3544/160.22 bye; Mark Smith 21.2219/30.60, Thomas Pettersson 6.5242/186.54;
Eric Richard 8.6074/116.13, Filippos Papafilippou 7.6953/122.54; Steve Woollatt 7.0352/135.26, Rikard Gustafsson 5.8361/234.97
Stu gets a time on the board. Glenn's motor struggling to stay lit before the burnout. New PB for Thomas Pettersson
but stayed #5. Fil going great guns but hit tyre started to turn about 250 feet out, off the gas and briefly back on then
called it a day. Stormer for Rikard Gustafsson, first half of an FIM ET record, well done Rikard and team!
In the other lane a puff of smoke from Steve Woollatt's bike as he approached the guardrail, backed out of it.
Qualifying after this session:
- Rikard Gustafsson 5.8361/234.97
- Steve Woollatt 6.1878/215.89
- Rene van den Berg 6.2872/195.43

Clean-up in Steve's lane and not enough time to run Super Street Bike single lane so that's a wrap for today. Stay tuned for today's gallery.

Martijn de Haas 7.3169/180.62 bye; Neil Midgley 15.0947/48.39 bye;

Marc van den Boer 7.5302/170.48, Marcus Christiansen 6.6820/206.11
A couple of pieces came off Martijn's bike, one about 100 feet out and one near the eighth. if I didn't know better I'd
have said that it looked like the soles of his boots. Either way Martijn into the ladder.
Midgo's tyre spun at the hit, off the gas before sixty, another brief squirt, then idled through. Improvement for
Christian but not enough to get him into the ladder.
Qualifying after this session:

European Nitro Funny Car Series qualifying session 4 (left lane first)
Kevin Kent 6.0816/117.11 bye; Jason Phelps 13.2262/57.90 bye; Steve Ashdown 4.6069/242.27, Kevin Champman 5.3798/138.63
Kevin in Santa Pod's display FC after building up the car in a monumental effort overnight - see Simon's pit notes for the full story.
0.9470 to sixty, off the gas about 200 feet out - possibly blower belt- 2.4988 to 330 feet, 4.1779/129.01 at the eighth. Clean-up called
in Kevin's lane. Gentle burnout for Jason. 1.0023 to sixty, shake and off the gas, pulled over to the right side of the lane and
idled through. Maybe a trick of the light but looked like a small trail of fluid, track checked, if there was anything there then it
evaporated. Steve to sixty in 0.9603, Kevin in 0.9397, both going great guns but then Kevin hit shake about 250 feet out,
backed out of it. Steve with all eight lit at the eighth 3.6397/218.04 and stayed on it all the way to the thousand.
Qualifying after this session:
- Steve Ashdown 4.4753/256.45
- Kevin Chapman 4.9198/174.39
- Kevin Kent 6.0816/117.11

FIA Top Fuel Dragster qualifying session 4 (left lane first)
Tethys 10.3248/77.60, Micke Kågered 5.8481/114.79; Maja Udtian 4.0543/233.89, Susanne Callin 9.3631/61.76;
Stig Neergaard 7.9576/86.04, Jndia Erbacher 9.5980/67.75; Liam Jones 8.8721/75.40, Anita Mäkelä 9.0253/52.16
Tethys' crew signalled to get a wiggle on and get him to stage. Tet's tyres up in smoke at the hit and
he shut off as a flash of flame was visible through the smoke. Micke to sixty in 0.8975, 330 feet in 2.3362,
shake and some smoke and off the gas. Maja rolled through stage, Susanne in stage, Maja calmly selected reverse
and went back into stage. 0.8429 to sixty for Maja, instant, hideous shake for Susanne and off the gas. Maja to 330 feet in
2.1860, the eighth in 3.1291/267.01 then off the gas or possibly belt went just past the eighth, the car's body
language implies belt. Instant shake for Jndia, a pedal and off it. Stig also with shake but the better
sixty 0.8745, pedal and on it and the car took a step left, off the gas. Small fuel leak on Anita's
injector hat on start-up but quickly sorted by a man with a spanner. Liam to sixty in 0.8471, Anita in 0.8484,
then shake for both, a pedal for Anita and her blower panel burst, safety device put both chutes out.
Qualifying after this session:
- Anita Mäkelä 3.8703/311.38

FIA Pro Stock qualifying session 4 (left lane first)
Bengt Ljungdahl 6.6178/207.90 bye; Stefan Ernryd 6.9495/201.68, Jimmy Ålund 6.5758/211.84;
Robin Norén 7.3471/164.24, Michael Malmgren 6.6328/207.92
Bengt to sixty in 0.9588 driving through shake, 4.2436/165.30, my guess is checking out race set-up.
Brief hold for timing system reboot. Stefan had two goes at lining up for the burnout, Jimmy back at the start line
before Stefan pulled his burnout. Stefan near to pre-stage and then puished back a few yards and came
forwards again. Starter Dave Warren started to walk towards Stefan's crew to get them to put a wiggle
on as Jimmy sat patiently in pre-stage. Stefan's sixty came up as 0.8843 which I am not sure is right,
Jimmy to sixty in 0.9759. Some shake for Stefan, 4.4868/154.04 to the eighth to Jimmy's trouble-free 4.2309/166.44.
Michael to sixty in 0.9853, high-frequency shake... lost the rest of the incrementals to a timing system restart -
will try to get them at the end of the day. Robin shut it off past the eighth, I am guessing race day set-up test for Michael.
Qualifying after this session:
- Michael Malmgren 6.5730/210.12
- Jimmy Ålund 6.5758/211.84
- Bengt Ljungdahl 6.6118/207.09
- Robin Norén 6.6423/206.18
- Stefan Ernryd 6.6655/206.05
- Simon Gustafsson 6.9396/198.04

FIA Pro Modified qualifying session 4 (left lane first)
Wayne Nicholson no time, Kev Slyfield 7.5923/156.38; Norbert Kuno no time DQ, Kim Kristiansen 5.9795/238.59;
Jon Webster no time DQ, Peter Kunc no time DQ; Roger Johansson 5.9105/222.54, Dmitry Samurokov no time DQ;
Jean Dulamon no time DQ, Freddy Fagerström no time DQ; John Tebenham 6.4944/225.77, Bobby Wallace 8.9621/99.22;
Nick Davies 6.1726/240.21, Marck Harteveld 5.9569/241.11; Micke Gullqvist 5.9171/240.30, Michel Tooren 5.9346/243.73;
Mats Eriksson 9.1038/99.71, Jan Ericsson 5.8448/243.84; Andreas Arthursson 5.8656/242.90, Jimmy Ålund 14.0719/48.38
Short burnout from Wayne so as not to risk the reverser not working. Wayne's motor stopped at the hit, rolled to a halt about
300 feet out. 1.0159 to sixty for Kev then sounded like trouble changing gear, a long pedal, 4.6923/118.89 at the
eighth, another brief squirt in the second half. Norbret to sixty in 1.0024 with a little shake, 0.9765 for Kim,
Norbert's Avenger moved left with tyres shaking, steered right and went up on two wheels, then another sharp left turn
and hit the guardrail front left-on. Kim to the eighth in 3.9225/189.35 as Norbert had no steering and the Avenger
went across the track and hit the right guardrail. As ever a very rapid response from the safety crews. Word came back
from the top end that Norbert is A-OK, got himself out of the car and was taken to the Medical Centre to be checked out.
Peter's motor sounded to be misfiring in the burnout. Sat out there for a fair while before reversing. Eurodragster.com
sponsor Jon's car was rocking in and out of stage, Peter left and then Jon left. Jon's Mustang made a move left then
right about 300 feet out. Roger's motor sounded to be misfiring in the burnout and his tyres didn't might. Screaming
burnout for Dmitry with a left turn as he gor off it. Lack of burnout didn't hurt Roger, 0.9770 to sixty, Dmitry to
sixty in 1.1412 with tyres shaking, car headed right, corrected, then left, then got into a pendulum turning left and right,
up on two wheels more than once and put the chute out about 400 feet out but it didn't help much, ultimately crossed lanes and
was headed for the left guardrail. Got it stopped and off the rail. Meanwhile Roger to the eighth in 3.8666/194.54, and into the ladder.
On return from his burnout Jean was right over on the right hand side of his lane, reversed up and centred it. Freddy into
stage and went up on the revs then left, Jean left, no times. John stopped about thirty feet off the line on the way
back from his burnout, pushed back by his crew. Bobby to sixty in 0.9992, tyres started shaking then blackstriping,
John to sixty in 1.0859, the eighth in 4.2856/175.62 whilst Bobby shut it off coming close to the centre line,
off it by the eighth 4.7202/115.27. Marc straight into stage before Nick pre-staged, seconds counting down but Nick
stayed calm and went in in time. Nick to sixty in 1.0758, Marc in 0.9733, the Bird moving left gently but he stayed with
it. 3.9103/189.43 at the eighth for Marc, 4.1100/184.23 for Nick, smoke from Marc's motor in the last couple of hundred feet.
Great match between Micke and Michel! Micke to sixty in 0.9881, Michel in 0.9912, looked like mild shake for Micke but
not much for Michel. 3.9045/190.39 to the eighth for Micke and 3.9070/191.05 for Michel. That's ten cars in the fives!
1.0283 to sixty for Mats, shake and the car started to move left, 0.9755 sixty for Jan driving through shake. Mats off the
gas at about 330 feet with a right turn to get away from the rail, in the other lane Jan got to the eighth in 3.8398/193.48.
Burndown between Jimmy and Andreas. Jimmy hit instant and appalling shake, 1.0022 to sixty and off the gas. Andreas to sixty in
0.9971, to the eighth in 3.8946/197.97, trouble-free run and up to #3.

Lively ride for Kev Perkins with shake, a move right, then up on three wheels when he pedalled.
Kev Jenkins shut it off before the eighth and idled along the track. Nitrous burp for Andy Hone,
in the other lane Dirk Peiler's Dart was heading right and then a step to the left right on the stripe.

Good morning from Santa Pod Raceway for our coverage of the FIA/FIM Main Event brought
to you in association with John Woolfe Racing.
Different conditions here at Santa Pod today, high overcast and a headwind. Not quite as warm as yesterday.
Today's plan is to bring you real-time reports and results, pit notes courtesy of Simon, and a gallery at the end of the day courtesy of
Julian, Kirstie and Diana.
No webcast from us until Tuesday; Santa Pod Raceway are streaming this event on YouTube Live (Santa Pod TV) and Facebook (Santa Pod
Raceway); you can find a link to the YouTube on the Event Index. Please note that the YouTube page will not, of course, show
the live broadcast until it commences so just keep hitting Refresh on that page. Our next
Webster
Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcast will be from next
Tuesday's and Wednesday's private test days here at Santa Pod.
A big Good Morning to the Eurodragsterholics, especially Kai Plathan and the faithful Otto in Vehkataipale, Finland, and
Ivar Kolberg who is tuned in from Norway.
We are due to start at 09:30 with Q8 of Modurstang Pro ET; Pro sessions are set for 10:25 and 14:25. In those Pro classes in
which it is possible we will post between pairings so keep hitting Refresh. Until 09:30 tune in to Nitro FM and
check out yesterday's report, pit notes and gallery, all of which are available via the Event Index.
