20:30 Nostalgia Funny Car qualifying session 2 (left lane first) Tony Betts shut off, Tim Garlick 15.7196/40.37 bye Tony stopped before the Tree on the burnout, sat there for a few seconds then shut it off. Word came back from outside that a loose fuel fitting had sprayed fuel all over Tony's windscreen. Tim took the bye, stood up on the rear tyres, 1.0371 to sixty and shut it off. Kevin to sixty in 0.9733, 1.0969 for Jason with shake and moving left, Kevin to 330 feet in 2.5877 and off the gas, Jason's FC still drifting left and crossed the centre line, banged the 330 foot reflector, off the gas. 20:05 FIA Top Fuel Dragster qualifying session 2 (left lane first) Patrik Pers no time, Susanne Callin 18.1169/46.83 bye; Liam Jones did not start, Jndia Erbacher 10.1017/46.74 bye; Anita Mäkelä 8.9361/77.21, Tethys 8.7843/76.45 Patrik hit the gas for the burnout and the safety device instantly cut the motor and put the chute out. Then no throttle response for Susanne on the burnout. Not unexpectedly the car stood up on its tyres at the hit, 1.6655 to sixty already off the gas and idled through. Liam did not fire up, thanks to Dick Koster for letting us know that it was an issue with rear tyre pressure. Jndia to sixty in 0.8897, sparks from the left side of the motor then off the gas, sparks from the clutch as Jndia got off the gas or the clutch let go and got Jndia off the gas, chutes out about 300 feet out. Jndia's lane swept and sledded. Anita to sixty in 0.8406, Tethys in 0.8698, both hit bad shake and both shut it off about 100 feet out. Dmitry to sixty in 0.9851 driving through mild shake, Marcus rolled the beams very slightly before hitting it, 1.0170 to sixty. Dmitry straight and true to the eighth in 3.9675/192.81, car swaying gently, Marcus' 'Vette again started to move around its lane, a puff of black smoke and a serious move left, 4.4982/135.36 at the eighth, off the gas to straighten it out. Nick to sixty in 1.0979 with tyres already shaking, the hack end jumped up and the car made serious move, a pedal then off the gas. Kim to sixty in 1.0071, Michel to sixty in 0.9972 with visible and audible shake, Michel drove trough the shake and looked to have a hold on it but then the car made a move left and he had to pedal. JT to sixty in 1.0191 to Bobby's 1.0400 both with shake, JT drive through the shake, Bobby tried to do so but the Willys started to move left and right and he had to pedal. Great match between Robin and Michael. Michael with the better sixty 0.9741 to Robin's 0.9831, both drove through shake to the Tree. Robin with the better eighth 4.2536/165.26 to Michael's 4.2552/165.75. Bengt's motor didn't start and the car was pushed away. 19:05 FIA Top Methanol qualifying session 2 (left lane first) Silvio Strauch no time, Sandro Bellio 5.5677/253.20 Silvio almost back from his burnout before Sandro was through the bleach box, 300-foot burnout. Silvio to sixty in 1.0674, Sandrooo in 0.9376, Sandro drove through shake, Silvio's motor zinged and the burst panel gave way, one chute deployed. Pulled to a halt at 330 feet. Sandro through the eighth in 3.6717/205.70, chutes out before the stripe. Qualifying after this session:
19:00 Secret Worx Comp Eliminator qualifying session 7 Quick check under Kev Jenkins' Escort before staging, all OK. Improvement for Kev, staying with it as the car moved towards the guardrail. Robin Orthodoxou drove through shake but then shut it off at the eighth. Good to see Chris Orthodoxou back out, was starting to worry. Shake for Chris, a pedal, 7.0340 at a big 212.95, again bad shake for Andy Hone and pulled to a halt at 330 feet. Side-by-side 0.0676 and 0.0677 RTs for Jordan Payne and Robin Sattler
18:40 Lucas Oil Junior Dragster qualifying session 7 0.0158 improvement for Kaitlan Deevey, stayed #6. Jack Coombs up from #24 to #15 at 0.0413. Squeaker -0.0058 for Caitlin Wilson. Next pair and a 0.0014 for #1 qualifier Lottie Bradford. Chris Callin and Chevrolet Checkett side-by-side up the ladder #20 to #16 at 0.0407 and #19 to #9 at 0.0246 respectively. Next pair and Thomas Cook-Abbott shut off before staging, a visibly frustrated Thomas climbed out of the car and walked away (not stormed away I hasten to add). Next pair and a squeaker -0.0035 for Freddie Taylor. 0.0065 for Kai Cooper good for a move from #12 to #3.

Joe Kellett's tyres again flapped about 250 feet out, left lane this time, was the right lane yesterday. Martyn Jones into the ladder, #34 to #32 at +0.1156, in the other lane Dave Evans in the big Impala moved up from #24 to #19 at +0.0268. Big step left for Ashley Bell's Cobra right on the eighth, had his hands full there for a moment. Dave Smith with tyre shake drifted left and was off the gas at the eighth. Shake and instant bounce for Mark Flavell's PC, very close to the centre line. John Gerritsen up from #26 to #15 at +0.0123, a slight move to the right at the eighth and again chutes out after 1000 feet. Dave Russell +0.0025 on dial-in but stayed #2 with yesterday's +0.0011. Not a twisty launch for Phil Toppin but a big move right off the line, had to pedal and pull it straight, another move right past 330 feet.

17:55 Simon has posted a set of pit notes which you can check out via the Event Index. Modurstang Pro ET qualifying session 7 Jon Turner and Zoe Sparrow ready to stage but shut off for spots of rain. A few minutes' hold. On the restart, third pair and Mike Lacey up from #23 to #22 at +0.0545. Early shut-off for Mason Griffiths. Tim Stanbury and Al Platt held for spots of rain at the top end then allowed to go, #15 to #14 for Tim at +0.0194. Leigh Morris and Will Clark held for more spots of rain, then it started to rain proper at 15:10. The rain was hard for a while and the length of the track got a thorough soaking. Great job by the track crew and we restarted at 17:45, conditions now changed with clear skies and sun, and the breeze changed back from a headwind to a sidewind. 0.0096 RT for Amy Watkins. next pair and Dave Cherrett up from #29 to #2 at +0.0012. #9 to #7 for Lee Huxley at +0.0081.

Steve's bike started to drift for the centre line and he shut it off. Ven with a wheelie losing him time off the line, Mogens shut it off before half track.

Big shake for Kevin, still 0.9388 to sixty, Jason's car pretty much stopped dead not far off the line and a cylinder was out at the front of the right bank, Kevin pedalled and the motor was groaning, Jason's motor sounded as if it had a throttle stop on, he was on the gas but the car was only picking up very slowly. Jason to the eighth in 5.6347/135.64, Kevin in 5.4740/99.44, a bang from one motor but not easy to say from here whose. Steve's motor sounded reluctant in the burnout then a little consternation getting it out of reverse, body up then an issue putting it down again. Steve to sixty in 0.9792, Kevin C in 0.9487, shake for Kevin and off the gas. 2.5378 to 330 feet for Steve, drifted left, nitro flames suddenly went opaque and bright orange, smoke and off the gas. 12:55 FIA Top Fuel Dragster qualifying session 1 (left lane first) Patrik Pers shut off, bye; Tethys 8.6246/66.23, Stig Neergaard 6.4986/84.29; Jndia Erbacher did not start, Anita Mäkelä 3.9031/308.24 bye Colour commentator Pelle Lindelöw asked us to say a big Hello to our good buddy Anders Envall. Patrik's crew stepped away for him to pull forward to stage, then he shut the motor off. Unusual nitro fumes up here as Stig and Tet were underneath us, quite a strong bleachy smell. Tet to sixty in 0.8639 and Stig in 0.9018, bad shake for both, Tet off the gas first quickly followed by Stig. Both rolled to a halt the other side of the top end gantry, a bang which I think was from Tet's motor and his chutes deployed. Jndia's crew signalled to Anita's crew that she would not be running. Anita took the bye, 0.8402 to sixty with shake and the briefest pedal I think I ever heard, 2.1859 to 330 feet, 3.1204/272.94 at the eighth, blackstriping all the way and drove it out the back door. Jonny to sixty in 0.9791, Sandro in 0.9445, drove through shake, 3.6223/222.37 to the eighth for Jonny to Sandro's 3.6448/208.56, a trail of smoke from Jonny's motor in the second eighth and the motor note dropped, Sandro off the gas and chutes out early and the left chute took out the 154-foot reflector. Our good buddy and occasional Contributing Photographer Callum Pudge reported in from the top end that Jonny's scoop came off and was caught by the rear wing. One of Jean's chutes deployed just before he went into pre-stage, sbhut off. Marck took the bye, 0.9904 to sixty but shake and heading left, off the gas about 150 feet out. make the most of the 300-foot burnout by Freddy, not sure he will do it every time. Tyre-shaky burnout for Dmitry, haze rather than smoke from the tyres. Freddy backed up just before staging to clear a patch of fluid. Freddy to sixty in 0.9642, 1.0211 for Dmitry, shake and heading left, shut it off about 250 feet out. Feddy straight down the middle of the lane, 3.9675/184.92 at the eighth, smoke from the motor in the second half which thickened on the stripe, track checked and all OK. repair patches visible on the front right quarter of Michel's car after the incident at Tierp Arena. Michel to sixty in 0.9851, Kim in 1.0270 with shake marks clearly visible on the track, Michel's car was heading left and he pedalled, then it headed right and he pedalled again. Kim to the eighth in 4.0673/185.53, Michel having lost time to the pedals to the eighth in 4.5663/168.55. Roger to sixty in 0.9752, Mats in 0.9633 and then he was driving to shake to about 150 feet, pedalled, roger visibly ahead at the eighth 3.9107/191.18, Mats lost time to the shake had shut it off by the eighth 4.4506/132.15. 11:40 Secret Worx Comp Eliminator qualifying session 6 Passes consistent with previous bests for Kevs Jenkins and Perkins in the first pair, no mean feat considering the headwind. Tyre shake and a move right for Andy Hone, approaching the guardrail, pulled it back and shut it off. Superb 0.0016 RT for Jordan Payne next pair. Rene Ehrismann's Bel Air lurched into deep stage and the motor stopped, refired and backed out of deep stage to go in again. Robin Orthodoxou drove through shake and then got close to the guardrail.

11:10 Phoenix Personnel Super Comp qualifying session 6 Pete Creswell's long experience put to good use to overcome the headwind, +0.0290 in the first pair. Interesting to see how Ronald Huis gets on in what aerodynamically is a block of flats on wheels... 9.0264/150.13. Next pair and Darryl Howells left before the Tree, in the other lane Phil Bennett shut it off in the second half, both lanes checked.
11:00 Lucas Oil Junior Dragster qualifying session 6 0.0391 improvement for Freddie Taylor but stayed #14. Next pair and hesitation from Chevrolet Checkett's motor at the hit, Chief Starter Ian Marshall ran to assist and the motor picked up again just as Ian got there leaving him in Chevrolet's wake. #16 to #12 for Kai Cooper at 0.0363. Next pair and Thomas Cook-Abbott back on track after clutch problems yesterday, 0.0917 moved him up from #24 to #23. Not clear from here what the issue was but Chief Starter Ian Marshall noticed something on Mackenzie Love's dragster before staging, signalled to shut off.
10:50 Hauser Race Cars/CG Composites Super Pro ET qualifying session 6 Ron Bartlett's Anglia headed for the centre line, you could see Ron pulling it back but in the end he called it a day. Squeaker -0.0009 red for Mark Bailey, +0.0057 for Robert Gassner in the other lane. Photographers' match next pair, John Gerritsen and Peter Lane, John with a straight pass but pulled the chutes at about 1000 feet. Eurodrsgster.com sponsor Pete Walters up from #25 to #9 at +0.0057, at that point we had thirteen +0.00n on dial-in. Another bouncy pass for Mark Flavell in the FC but into the ladder at #31, +0.2020. In the other lane Collin Morrice's Camaro made a move right at the hit and he shut it off and idled through. Bumped down a spot next pair by Ian Brown, #32 to #27 at +0.0651. #34 to #33 for Mark Coulsell, +0.2106. Two pairs later Steve Saunders edged out of stage going up on the revs so no time. Next air and #1 qualifier Billy Gane went +0.0028, got a good handle on the conditions I'd say, as did Bob Doyle last pair at +0.0074 movoing him up from #24 to #11.

10:20 Modurstang Pro ET qualifying session 6 Lots of breakouts yesterday, with the headwind today you'd expect it to be the other way round, let's see how it goes. Carl Goldsmith now in Jacob Bailey's Jetta after suffering engine damage in the Gold yesterday, in at #22 +0.0769 not at all bad for his first go in the car. 0.0098 RT for Ethan Lisle next pair. Mike Lacey up from #23 to #22 at +0.0745. After eight pairs, two of sixteen had broken out. 0.0072 RT for Lee Huxley, in the other lane Neill Watkins up from #15 to #11 at +0.0124. 0.0030 breakout for Amy Watkins impressive in these conditions, 7.25 inches more of track and that would have been perfect. Jon Turner back after fixing a broken water pump, up from #30 to #19 at +0.0452. Four of twenty eight broke out in this session, a bit different to this time yesterday.
