Colin Millar 0.01 mph off the class speed record in his race with Shane Bird. Matt Cooper a no-show for his race with Ian Tweddle. Brian Nixon a no-show for his race with Paul Hensher. Al O'Connor a no-show for his race with Scott Crookston, Scotty took the bye and a new PB, well done Scotty and team! Phil Drewitt a no-show for his race with Mark Bracking. Gary Bird a no-show for his race with Adrian Witcombe, timing system did not register Adrian's run but he took the green so will go through.

Erik to sixty in 1.2928, the eighth in 4.8787/160.74, haze then smoke from the motor approaching the stripe. Sled of Erik's lane. Cumulative qualifying after this session; Erik stays third.

18:10 Custom Car Invitational session 3
Matt Wright followed with an 8.9222/128.45 in the Fugitive turbine-powered slingshot. 17:50 Supercharged Outlaws qualifying session 3 Huge, 45- or more-degree wheelie for Jim Usher. Stopped about 1100 feet out, straight out of the car and waved to the spectators, he is perfectly OK. More moderate but noticeable wheelie also for Eurodragster.com sponsor Bill Macdermid in his Camaro. First outing for Chris Pattison in the Grim Reaper altered and an introduction to altered driving as the car took quite the step left at the eighth. The Supercharged Outlaws handle their own qualifying; this is who did what in this session.
17:25 Outlaw Anglia qualifying session 3 Simon Barlow unfortunately out for the weekend, a hole in each cylinder head, on the up side the block is OK.
17:05 Nostalgia Cannonball qualifying session 2 (left lane first) Tim Garlick 6.1541/no speed, Erik Wallinder 6.7911/no speed; Tobba Jansson 6.4788/197.27, Doc Stinger 7.3548/207.00; Paul Harris 7.3770/144.39 bye; Rob Elsom 7.5932/168.54, Robin Read 7.4008/166.15; Robbie Grabham 8.5238/129.41 bye Tim to sixty in 1.0361, Erik in 1.1336, Tim's FC started to move right, 3.9907/188.05 at the eighth but banged the eighth mile, both 1000-foot and 1254-foot blocks so no incrementals for Erik although as the quarter block was standing I would imagine that his ET was valid. Great match between Tobba and Doc! Tobba to sixty in 1.0471, Doc in 1.1221, Tobba had the better eighth too 4.1150/178.47 to Doc's 4.876/144.40, Doc had been heading right again and lost time pulling it back but was then visibly accelerating hard in the second half. No chutes for Doc, nosed into the field but quickly retrieved. Great run for Paul, gentle launch with dust, 1.3064 to sixty, 4.5902/169.129 at the eighth drifting right, puff of smoke from the motor, pulled it back and then shut off in the second half. The front of Rob's FC body was bouncing up and down when stopping from the burnout, crew relatched it on return. Robin to sixty in 1.0655, Rob with a gentle dusty launch, 1.3541 to sixty, 4.5236/142.04 to the eighth for Robin, 5.0439/160.75 for Rob, appraoching the stripe Robin looked to have cylinders go out on the left side then a bang and flash of flame, from here looked like blower panel let go. Safety crews chased Robin down. Quick sled of Rob's lane up to the eighth. Robbie briefly held before staging. 1.1193 to sixty, a couple of pedals as the altered skated left and right, 4.8587/125.12 at the eighth and off the gas in the second half. 15:45 Slingshot Showdown qualifying session 2 (left lane first) Sam Freeman shut off, Joe Bond broke; Christian Frei 7.8767/167.29 bye, Christian Zulauf shut off; Chris Manning 7.6901/134.43, Mick Hannah 7.3563/182.08 Joe's motor stopped abruptly when he hit the gas for the burnout, the blower pulley came off. Scraps of metal on the track. Sam was shut off before staging. Next pair and Christian Z shut off before his burnout, Christian F took the bye and improved still further to consolidate #2 spot at that point. Chris with a haze-free launch, the Villain started to head right and Chris took out the 660 foot and 934 foot reflectors. New PBs for Mick, ET best for Chris, well done both! 15:00 Nostalgia Super Stock qualifying session 3 Second pair and a -0.0001 breakout for Vic Parsons, 0.23 inches of track short of winning the Eurodragster.com Perfect ET Award supported by the Twister Race Team. Seven pairs later Dave Billadeau with a perfect 10.7504 on 10.75 dial-in took #1 spot and the £50 Perfect ET Award, well done Dave! If memory serves Dave won the first ever Award put up by Eurodragster.com a very long time ago.

Rob fired up but consternation around the car, body prop brought back to hold up the body and Rob shut off. Paul Stubbings again on the start line with the Doc. 1.1454 to sixty, startted to drift right and the rear right quarter just tagged the guardrail before the eighth 5.1658/99.86. Tobba on his was back from his burnout before Tony came forward, Starter Davina Warren signalled Tony to do a short burnout with which he duly complied. Tony to sixty in 1.1657 with a lot of clutch dust, 1.1694 for Tobba. Tony's FC tried to move right but he held on to it but then smoke from the left bank. Tobba with the better eighth 4.3754/177.79 to Tony's 4.3815/175.68, more smoke and a bang from Tony's motor, Tobba off the gas before the stripe. Tim to sixty in 1.0311, Robbie in 1.1049, Tim pulling out a visible lead at the eighth 4.1665/178.13, Robbie there in 4.7045/150.56 getting close to the centre line but staying with it, new PB for Robbie, well done Robbie and team! Second time out for Matt in the All or Nothing FC, shut off for a fliud leak on return from the burnout. Qualifying after this session:
12:10 Outlaw Anglia qualifying session 2 Smoke and a flash of flame from Simon Barlow's motor in the second half, luckily ahead of Matt Cooper who had crossed lanes. Clean-up in Matt's lane. Shake, right side door open and something came off Paul Hensher's car on launch. Did he back off? Did he bog roll. Smoke from the motor and chute out just before the stripe.
11:45 Nostalgia Pro Stock Bike qualifying session 2 A moment for Mark Stevens as the bike got a real wobble on when he was already very close to the guardrail, kept a good hold of it though.

11:10 Slingshot Showdown qualifying session 1 First candidate for Save of the Weekend for Chris Manning, close to the guardrail at the stripe, put out the chute, chute didn't deploy at 195.47 mph and I would imagine it got a bit lively towards the end of the shutdown area. Made it though. Something came off Dave Nelson's car in the burnout, then a gutsy drive as the slingshot was determined to cross lanes, saw one side of the car towards 300 feet and again after 1000 but Dave kept a good hold of it. First run for Bob Hawkins having rebuilt the car and motor since the engine-pop/guardrail-tag excursion earlier this season. Very straight run for Joe Bond who has a new wheel/tyre set-up on the dragster, I have seen more crooked laser lines than Joe's tyre marks. Final pair and Mick Hannah and Mark Bishop both shut off after their burnouts. Mick restarted after a few minutes and put in a great pass, couple of pedals so a lot more to come yet.

Thank You also to every one who has been in touch or posted to congratulate us on the induction of Eurodragster.com into the British Drag Racing Hall of Fame. The team are glad that we don't have to keep that one a secret any longer, and it is particularly humbling when one looks at one's fellow inductees. It is also a nice thought that our own Kirstie and her mum Yvonne are in the Hall of Fame for separate achievements within the sport.
