VW Pro qualifying session 1

Issues for Ian Dale in the first pair, lost drive not far out and crept to the far end, clocks timed out on him so the ET was slower than 33 seconds. Luke Stevenson and Ben Mace both in new race cars towed back to the pits before running.

VW Sportsman qualifying session 1

Honorary Eurodragster.com staff member Spencer Tramm was doing voluntary work at Cambridge United's ground until a couple of hours ago - he got here, got scrutineered and got to the pairing lanes in time to run in the sixth pair. Reigning Champion Polly Judge in dad Mike's car again this weekend; a wasps' nest was found in her race car and in addition, husband Rob tells us, she has a broken third leg which just about confirms everything I have always thought. Rob Creswell +0.0076 on dial-in, first to take a tilt at the Eurodragster.com Perfect ET Award supported by the Twister Race Team.

The rain has stopped, the racing surface is dry and the Human Powered Race will take place at 16:00. The shutdown area is still receiving attention from sweepers and jet dryers.

The 12:00 European Nitro Funny Car Series session won't be happening, well not at 12:00 anyway, as it is currently raining quite hard. Stay tuned.

Good morning and welcome to our coverage of Bug Jam brought to you in association with John Woolfe Racing.

We had rain overnight but the track crew worked their magic and then the timing crew set up the Tree, timing beams and reflectors at which point it promptly rained again. Today's original schedule had RWYB until 15:00, with Q3 of the European Nitro Funny Car Series at 12:00, then an hour of track prep and full qualifying at 16:00.

The coverage plan today is for a report of the 12:00 European Nitro Funny Car Series qualifier, and then for the usual reports and results of all classes when full qualifying commences. We will also post a gallery at the end of the day courtesy of Julian and DD.

Santa Pod Raceway are providing the webcast this weekend and you can find links to both incarnations on the Event Index. Queries or comments about the webcast should of course be addressed to Santa Pod and not to us.
