That's all for today, we will post today's gallery shortly. 20:55 FIM Top Fuel Bike qualifying session 2 (left lane first) Stu Crane 7.0314/184.36 bye; Rene van den Berg 13.3210/48.99, Phil Crossley 12.0183/83.48; Dale Leeks no time bye; Lorcan Parnell 9.2191/111.41 bye; Eric Richard 11.9605/130.65 bye; Filippos Papafilippou 13.1399/59.97 bye Stu shut off before staging as the safety crews went after Marcus' Supertwin. On the restart 1.0943 to sixty, engine note dropped briefly approaching the eighth 4.4611/158.99 but picked up in the second half. Rene to sixty in 1.0466, nitro flames high in the air then a ball of flame and a fire on the right side of the bike, maybe head gasket. Phil's engine note was not far above idle all the way down the track. Rene stopped at the top end right by the safety crews who were there in moments. Phil's run removed from the standings as it was not a six-second pass - those Funny Bikes left in the ladder have previously run sixes. Fluid in Rene's lane, qualifying continues in the other lane. Dale to sixty in 1.1317 then tyre shake, shut off and stopped about 250 feet out. Lorcan to sixty in 1.1693 then the tyre chattered, a feather of the throttle and back on it but then smoke from the motor in the second half. Eric's motor tried to die in the burnout but he managed to catch it and keep it lit. Stood up on the rear tyre at the hit, feathered the throttle and squeezed the throttle to get it down the track. Fil got to sixty in 1.0958 then the tyre spun up, one feather and tried again and the tyre spun up again, shut it off. Qualifying after this session:
20:40 Clean-up complete Martin Hill put in a 5.6816/261.99 in the Fireforce 5 Jet Dragster. FIM Supertwin qualifying session 2 (left lane first) Marcus Christiansen 6.5955/202.24 bye; Martijn de Haas 6.6649/206.28 bye; 2018 FIM Europe Supertwin Champion Marcus to sixty in 1.1625, nitrous flames flicking on and off, 4.2823/176.37 at the eighth, into #1 spot. Great pass for Martijn! 1.1433 to sixty, 4,3717/175.67 at the eighth. Safety crews left station and headed down the shutdown area but returned straight away. Qualifying after this session:
20:10 Nostalgia Funny Car session 2 (left lane first) Tony Betts 9.1723/90.70 bye, Rob Elsom shut off Rob shut off for an oil leak on the way back from his burnout. Tony took the bye, 1.0445 to sixty and off the gas before 330 feet. 20:00 Fuel Funny Car qualifying session 2 (left lane first) Steve Ashdown 12.3746/73.92, Birgitte Bremnes 7.2560/126.61; Jason Phelps 7.2828/90.70, Kevin Kent 15.2846/28.99 Steve's motor fired up and coughed and banged, almost as if the plug leads were switched or some other timing issue, stopped almost immediately. Birgitte's team waited whilst Steve's team applied a quick fix under pressure. Steve staged just to the right of centre of his lane, looked to be off his burnout tracks. Tyres up in smoke at the hit, 2.0482 to sixty, off the gas and stabbed it again then gave it up. 0.9586 to sixty for Birgitte, shake and off the gas, something came off the car, then Birgitte gave it some more welly just before the eighth then off the gas altogether. Jason to sixty in 0.9773 with shake, 0.8523 for Kevin, shake and off the gas, chute out so I am guessing the safety device kicked in. Jason pedalled, gave the throttle a stab, gave the throttle another stab and then off it altogether. Qualifying after this session:
19:45 FIA Top Fuel Dragster qualifying session 2 (left lane first) Stig Neergaard 4.4909/241.48, Duncan Micallef 14.4687/60.21; Liam Jones 8.6830/78.02, Jndia Erbacber 9.5068/73.60; Anita Mäkelä 3.8947/263.98, Antti Horto 10.6818/47.82 Duncan's tyres stood up and smoked and he was straight off the gas. Stig to sixty in 0.9083 with visible shake and sparks from the clutch, a pedal, 330 feet in 2.5566 and visibly accelerating hard at the eighth 3.5876/252.05 then off the gas and a chute out. Liam to sixty in 0.8605 and very bad shake, Jndia to sixty in 0.8670 and very bad shake, both off the gas and idled tnrough. Anitti to sixty in 0.8562, shake and off the gas. Anita on a stormer! 0.8316 to sixty, 2.1567 to 330 feet, 3.0651 at a huge 280.21 at the eighth then off the gas before the stripe. Qualifying after this session:

Huge nitrous burp which blew off Jean's scoop then a jet of flame from the carb. Michel to sixty in 0.9900, car headed left, a pedal, pulled it straight, another pedal before the eighth 4,3375/178.31. Norbert to sixty un 0.9762, Jan in 1.0003 driving through shake to 150 feet. Jen with a visible lead at the eighth 3.9253/193.39 as Norbert's Avenger headed for the guardrail but Norbert stayed with it and did the rest of the run to the left of the lane, 4.1300/174.27 at the eighth. Peter with shaeke to sixty 1.0989, Waybe in 1.1921 with shake which he drive through. Wayne to the eighth in 4.6704/152.58 and his blower panel burst with a flash of flame. Peter to the eighth in 4.6882/180.68 overhauled Wayne at the last moment. Jimmy and Marcus ready to stage and shut off as the right lane was still being checked. Clean-up called in the shutdown area. Great run for Jimmy! 0.9542 to sixty, Marcus in 1.0151 with shake and a move right, a pedal a couple of hundred feet out. Meanwhile an absolute stormer to the eighth for Jimmy 3.8109/197.97, Marcus there in 4.5077/161.12 then a big flash of flame and cloud of smoke from his motor just before 1000 feet. Track check ensued, all OK. Kev and Eurodragster.com sponsor Jon in pre-stage and one member of Kev's crew went in each side door. All sorted and in stage. Jon bulbed by the Autostart, Kev off and running on the green. 0.9506 to sixty, no real sign of shake, 3.9054/185.12 at the eighth and drove it to the back door. New PB for Kev, well done Kev and team! Not so good after that as the 'Bird got a bounce on going through the finish line, no parachutes appeared and still didn't appear as Kev went further and further down the shutdown area, smoke from the breakes and then a huge cloud of dust as the car went into the field. Safety crews rushed to Kev's aid, awaiting word. Shake for Mats past sixty 0.9862, wheelstand then unloaded rear end and shake for Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy, 1.0539 to sixty and off the gas. Both cruised along the track. Fantastic pair to close the session! Kim to sixty in 1.0122 with shake which he drove through, Roger in 0.9704 with no visible shake and exhausts spitting red flame, Roger visibly pulling ahead at the eighth 3,8089/197.61 with the usual soot on both sides, Kim lost a tad to shake and got to the eighth in 4.0124/188.85, both drove it out the back door. Kim with no chutes bu tmade the turnout at the end of the track. Track record reset twice in one session, the quickest Nitrous car outside the USA... Your Reporter is going to have his vasectomy reversed, have children, and then eventually have grandchildren whom he can tell he was there. Qualifying after this session:
18:30 Gearhead Garage Super Pro ET qualifying session 6 Also the last qualifying session for Pro ET as they will go into eliminations tomorrow. First pair and John Przybyl's dragster made
a move to the right at 1000 feet, backed out of it, Laura Turburville also off it in the other lane for less evident reasons. Barry Giles up
from #8 to #5 at +0.0055. Brad Jackson and dave catton side-by-side up the ladder #17 to #14 and #26 to #20 respectively. Dave Evans in
the RT Squeaker Club at -0.0090 but outdone by Scott Hauser at -0.0023, in the other lane a breaklout for Mathijs Kraetzer, 7.8540 on 7.90
but I think the team will be OK with it. Johan Oomen shut off after his burnout and pushed back.
Next up the rest of Pro Q2. 18:10 Terry Gibbs Super Gas Shootout qualifying session 5 Simon Gough up to #4 in the first pair +0.0048. Stevan Reffeltrath's turn for the squeaker RT, -0.0003.
Tim Moore into the 9.9s and up to #11. Next pair and Werner Zudrell edged out of stage as the lights ran,
in the other lane Dave Fulton up to #6. Andy Harrison next to the 9.9s and up to #10. That made twelve of fifteen
in the 9.9s. Next pair and save of the day by Collin Morrice, fuel under a rear tyre and the car made a hard left
on launch. Crossed lanes but Collin held on to it and pulled it back.
18:05 Modurstang Pro ET qualifying session 6 Last qualifying session for Pro ET as they will go into eliminations tomorrow. In the first pair 0.0074 RT for David Smith, in the other lane another impressive wheelie and up from #13 to #4 for Mike Lacey. Next pair and a breakout 10.8882 for Carl Goldsmith but he will be pleased after a couple of days of woe. Vapour from the car right on the stripe and down the shutdown area, track checked and all OK so hopefully all good for Carl. Thomas Watkins up from #16 to #9 next pair at +0.0077. Paul Brown with a real close -0.0003 RT. next pair and a fag paper -0.0018 RT for Will Clark.

consolidate the #1 spot.
Hold for a groom of the track. 17:45 Super Comp qualifying session 5 Lively launch for Arndt Putzmann in the firts pair, had all four wheels off at least four times.
Wild Bunch racer Darryl Howells up from #6 to #4 in the second pair. Straight run for Martin Curbishley in the
Fiz Auto Penzance-sponsored dragster but broke out, that will be the baseline run though. Leah Kellett up from #3 to
#2 with the last run of the session.
Super Street qualifying session 5 No changes in this session.
17:40 Lucas Oil Junior Dragster qualifying session 5 Frankie Taylor up from #21 to #15 in the first pair. Next pair and Katie Ellis up from #17 to #12. #23 to #11 for Thomas Cook-Abbott
going right-side. Skye Collier and Jacqueline Bartlett side-by-side up the ladder, #23 to #15 and #10 to #6 respectively. Harley Coulsell
up from #12 to #9 next pair. 0.0011 RT for Caitlin Wilson might well have been good for #1 at another event but not this one, #3 it is.
Thaliah Gibb pushed back before staging in the next pair, up to #11 with Thaliah remaining #10. 0.0417 for Harry Redshaw good for a move

17:25 Gearhead Garage Super Pro ET qualifying session 5 Shock of the round was that Eurodragster.com brother-in-law Tom Atkinson was not first out of the lanes. My guess is that
with an unassailable #1 he is staying in the pits. Squeaker -0.0029 RT for John Przybyl. Two pairs, four breakouts. Next pair
and Laura Turburville up from #24 to #11, breakout for Mark Flavell in the other lane. Martyn Jones shut off on the way back
from the burnout, pushed to the side of his lane whilst Wouter van Leersum took his bye. -0.0046 squeaker for Barry Giles, in
the other lane Johan Oomsen's Viper started to drift left and right and he had to feather the throttle. Mark Bailey with a -0.0030
squealer but up from #13 to #4 at +0.0051. At that point +0.0765 bought you #23 spot of 29. Brad Jackson up from #22 to #17
at +0.0296. Breakout of 0.0020 seconds for Billy Gane wouldn't have been had the track been 5.68 inches longer. Next pair and Maurice
van der Laan up from #24 to #21 at +0.0579. John Gerritsen close to the guardrail, shut it off and pulled it away.

Amy Watkins with RIP Burt on the back of her Firebird, all I can say to that is "These bleeds? These bleeds here? You're gonna take these ******' bleeds and stuff 'em up my nose?". Sean Law up from #26 to #4 at +0.0051. 9.9612 on 10.20 dial-in for Andy Thetford. 10.5696 on 11.10 for Ben Newsome trying the Nitrous for the first time. next pair and Simon Innes was pushed back. Nice 0.0027 RT for Eddy van den Bos but a reasonably-sized breakout.

I would imagine that the team were delighted with the first run after the Tierp damage was fixed, and I would imagine that they were even more delighted with a fantastic run! Sandro to sixty in 0.9264 to Jonny's 0.9659 slight shake which he drove through and the car was visibly accelerating hard by the eighth 3.5986/212.82. High-frequency shake for Jonny until the Tree, to the eighth in 3.6722/218.63. Sandro stopped short of the exit, retrieval called. Another great match between Timo and Dennis, Timo to sixty in 0.9159 and Dennis in 0.9077. Dennis with visible shake but I think it was Timo I heard pedal, Timo with the better eighth 3.4824/215.97 to Dennis' 3.4857/216.64, Dennis overhauled Timo in the second eighth. 15:40 Comp Eliminator qualifying session 4 Shake and bunny hops for Conrad Stanley in the second pair, in the other lane Robin Orthdoxou shut off early.
Belinda Bull up to #5, in th eother lane Paul Brooks' Sierra got into a pendulum and made a hard move right at
the eighth, shut off and gathered it up. Tractor called to sweep the lane. Big improvement for Tim Mugridge to
take #4 spot, 0.0014 seconds or 4.42 inches between Tim and Andy Hone in the other lane. Next pair and Dirk Peiler
had a go at the Tree in the burnout, held on to the big Dart though and then I believe a new PB, well done Dirk
and team! Word from darryl at the top end is that the bonnet suffered damage on the run. Screaming motor in the
burnout for Chris Orthodoxou next pair, Bernd Rudolph in the other lane, what a photogenic pairing. Big improvement
for Chris and up to #3. Big shake for Rene Ehrismann, almost had the guardrail and shut off, in the other lane an improvement

In the last pair
Harry Redshaw up to #17 from #24. Not many changes to the standings in this session but a lot of reds including paired
reds. The squeakiest of the session a -0.0024 for Harley Coulsell and -0.0039 tryer for Thomas Cook-Abbott. At the end

11:25 FIA Top Methanol qualifying session 1 (left lane first) Jonny Lagg 5.4300/264.20, Sandro Bellio 5.7276/236.24; Dennis Habermann 5.3009/272.17, Timo Habermann 5.3949/265.53 I would imagine a checkout pass for Sandro for Eurodragster.com sponsor Dyno Unlimited after tagging the guardrail at Tierp a couple of weeks back. Well, shows how wrong you can be! Jonny to sixty in 0.9379 then shake, Sandrooo with a little shake to about thirty, got to sixty in 0.9942. Jonny drove through the shaka and got ot the eighth in 3.6170/219.12 visibly ahead of Sandro's 3.8039/207.60, both on the gas all the way. Dennis to sixty with shake 0.9144, Timo to sixty 0.8886 and then shake, a brief pedal from Dennis and then his tyres hooked right up. 11:15 Comp Eliminator qualifying session 4 Paul Brooks shut off before staging in the first pair, looked like a problem with the wheelie bars. Kev Perkins took the bye, motor fell flat on its face after launching, took it relatively gently when it recovered. Problem sorted Paul came back for another go. Big twisty wheelie, tyre shake and the Sierra went left and banged the 330-foot reflector. Next up the first appearance this weekend of the ICE Automotive Pro Mod, electronic problems in testing on Wednesday all sorted, today's issue is when to stand on the revs given that Comp uses a Sportsman Tree instead of the usual Pro Mod Pro Tree. Big improvement for Tim Mugridge, up from #13 to #4, looked like problems launching for Nick then the Forebird made a coupl eof serious moves at the eighth. Tyre shake and spin for Belinda Bull, a pedal and back on it, stayed #7. Great to see Bernd Rudolph's Mustang here. Tyres didn't light on the burnout, effectively a test launch to 400 feet then shut off for a fluid leak whilst returning from the burnout and pushed back. In the other lane the straightest run I have ever seen from Robin Orthodoxou, I mean not by any means straight but straight for him, a huge improvement and up from #11 to #3. sounded to be misfiring but probably related ot the shake, Viper was drifting left all the way down an dtook out the 1000-foot
and quarter-mile reflectors DQing his 6.4939/205.10. A new PB though, well done Chris and team!

fluid trail yesterday.

It is a beautiful morning here at Santa Pod, again hardly a cloud in the sky, a moderate and slightly off-centre breeze up the track. If you heard Track Announcer Colin Theobald's op-ed/rant yesterday morning, and if you have ever read one of our race reports, then you will know that Colin and Your Reporter are in full agreement on the subject of weather mizzogs on social media. Well, they got what they wanted yesterday so hopefully they can go away now and leave the real fans to relish both the anticipation and the racing. Today's plan is for the usual real-time reports and results, pit notes courtesy of Simon, and an end-day gallery courtesy of Julian and off-track photographer Diana. During Pro qualifying sessions I will try to upload between each pair so keep hitting Refresh.
