Kevin's FC started to drift left, off it just before the eighth 3.6559/182.98. Steve stayed on it further, 3.6536/219.66 then the Undertaker started to move right and got very close indeed to the guardrail, there was fag paper in it. Lots of flinching up here, that great colour scheme, but Steve kept it out of trouble. Very gentle burnout for Birgitte, tyres just turning. 0.9902 to sixty for Birgitte, 2.5468 to 330 feet, off it before the eighth 4.0610/140.21. Very brief burnout for Antti. 0.8689 to sixty for Antti, 0.8934 for Stig. Antti hit shake and pedalled then got off it, 3.6767/148.96 at the eighth. Rick and Jean given a second shot, Rick did not come up on the timing system for whichever pairing he was meant to contest. 15:40 Al's Gasser Super Gas Shootout qualifying session 7 Drama at the end of the session as Al O'Connor's Pop went right then hard left in the lights, hit the left guardrail and rolled over a couple of times. Fortunately Tony Morris was ahead of Al in the left lane. Safety crews moved instantly and were there pretty much as soon as the car stopped. Al is reportedly OK but has of course been taken to the Medical Centre to be checked out. Word came back later that Al is A-OK.

Exhibition Martin Hill (Fireforce 5 Jet Dragster) 5.4346/239.90 Eric Teboul (Rocket Bike) 5.4049/261.96 14:25 FIM Europe Super Street Bike qualifying after session 1 Good to see Bianca Nilsson on Arvid Gerdtsson's bike after her spill on Thursday. Great riding job by Rudi Zorzi, the bike got a vicious fishtail on, Rudi applied some Top Fuel Bike-style body weight shift to keep it straight and didn't get off the gas until he was close to the stripe. Problems for Mogens Lund before staging, Graham Balchin took a blackstriping bye. Mogens then permitted to run, close to the centre line and shut it off at about 1000 feet. Rick Stubbins off the gas after the eighth. Both Ven and Garry Bowe shut off early.

On and off the gas in the first half but moved up from #35 to #32 so on the bump spot at that point. brief clean-up in Johan's lane, Daniel Giles took a bye. Next pair and a fag-paper 0.0002 breakout for Joe Kellett. Next pair and Ron Bartlett up from #29 to #14 at +0.0.317. At that point 0.0990 bought you #29 spot. Martyn Jones up from #38 to #33 a couple of pairs later. Billy Gane's Vauxhall took a hard right turn during the burnout, Billy kept a hold of it but I'd imagine that his wrists knew all about that one, #20 up to #5 a +0.0074 maybe a viciously out of shape burnout is the way to go! Your Reporter would like to say a personal Thank You to everyone for their patience yesterday whilst the webcam PC was out of service. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the 'holics are the best. We are also very grateful for the feedback about the webcast camera angles and shot choice. Not just the 'holics but everyone who got in touch yesterday had constructive comments and suggestions which are always welcome (apart from "Why don't you go and..."). The screen showing all four cameras at once proved popular, I know that neither of you will tell anyone so here's a trade secret: if the four-camera screen is showing then that usually means that Your Reporter is very busy with the race report. Holly Donisthorpe asked us to say a big Happy 50th Birthday to her dad, race photographer and all-round good guy Colin Donisthorpe.
