We'll be back in the morning with news from qualifying and eliminations.
16:10
Good afternoon and welcome to our coverage of Big Jam qualifying brought to you in association with
John Woolfe Racing.
Or, more accurately, what would have been qualifying since we have been called due to heavy rain. The
provisional running order for tomorrow allows for two cycles of qualifying so all is not lost.
We are currently working on a gallery from what little RWYB action took place earlier, plus some
pictures from last night's festivities.
News from RWYB is that Sam Young suffered a crash in the Black Current Beetle; after a hard
launch the car drifted left in the second half and then pretty much uncorked just past the finish line,
going on its side and hitting the left guardrail very hard. Safety crews were with Sam as the car came
to a halt; he got himself out of the car and was reportedly OK after being checked out in the Medical
Centre.
The Fuel FCs were ready to fire up when the rain came this afternoon. Yesterday's (Friday's) Fuel
FC Test and Tune went as follows:
Kevin Kent (left lane) no time DQ left before lights ran.
Steve Ashdown (right lane) 0.0020 RT, 0.9734 to sixty feet, 2.5024 to 330 feet off the gas at that point, 3.9261/152.49 at the eighth,
5.6040/129.52 at the stripe.
Gary Page (right lane bye) 14.9101/80.26, first outing for Mark and Jackie Hawkins' new Fuel FC, idled along the track.
Birgitte Bremnes (right lane bye) 1.0102 to sixty feet, 2.5946 to 330 feet off the gas by then, 4.2308/129.42 at the eighth,
6.2277/108.48 at the stripe.
Tune back later and we will have today's gallery for you.
