Next pair and Jon Giles took over #1 spot from #4, Ronald Huis a little out of shape in the other lane so shut it off. Neil Hunter then took over #1 from #5.

Stay tuned as Simon has a tranche of pit notes for you and Julian is about to hand us today's pictures. 18:30 Nostalgia Fuel Car Cup qualifying session 2 (left lane first) Nick Davies 10.0391/88.57, Bob Glassup 10.4004/79.54 A pair of 300 fot checkouts. Nick to sixty in 1.1178, straight run with no dramas and off the gas about 300 feet out. Bob to sixty in 1.2083, FC made a move to the right, off the gas and straightened it out, quick pump of the throttle then off the pedal for good. Qualifying after this session:
Martin Hill followed with a 5.3946/256.01 in the Fireforce 5 Jet Dragster. 3.6016/225.47 at the eighth, 4.5438/251.88 at 1000 feet. 18:25 MSA Pro Modified qualifying session 3 (left lane first) Wayne Nicholson shut off, bye; Michel Tooren 6.2864/219.04 bye; Bert Englefield 25.0649/25.71 bye; Andy Robinson shut off, Kev Slyfield 8.7072/96.68 bye; Steve Rawlings 12.2516/75.94 bye; Andy Robinson 6.0888/237.87 bye Very strong-sounding burnout by Wayne, but crew not happy and shut off on return from the burnout. 1.0072 to sixty for Michel, drove through shake, 4/0301/174.27 at the eighth with the car fishtailing and a puff of smoke, shut off just a touch early. 1.1202 to sixty for Bert, motor sounded to be misfiring and then there were a couple of bangs, one of which may have been the blower panel. 100-foot burnout by Kev and 101-foot burnout by Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy. One of Andy's chutes then popped before staging. Kev took the bye, 1.0410 to sixty then shake which Kev tried to drive through until the 'Bird turned right about 200 feet out. Steve's motor sounded reluctant to stay lit on the way round from the pairing lanes. Strong burnout then the motor stopped before staging. Quickly refired, nitrous purged. 1.7299 to sixty, motor sounded to be misfiring, flames from both pipes then a bang and puff of smoke and shut off. Chute repacked Andy back for another go. Brief burnout all that was necessary this time. Stormer! 0.9707 to sixty, tiny shake driven through, 3.9796/184.30 at the eighth, straight as you like. Qualifying after this session:
18:05 ACU Top Fuel Bike qualifying session 3 (left lane first) Chris Hannam 7.6225/167.31 bye; Rene van den Berg 6.8573/166.06 bye; We think the quickest run on the new bike for Cannon. 1.1659 to sixty, motor hestiated a little at the eighth and smoke from the pipes, 4.7859/140.81 at the eighth. 1.1047 to sixty for Rene, rode through bad shake, 4.3413/174.82 at the eighth then started to get close to the centre line and got off the gas. Qualifying after this session:

That lasted one pair as Lottie Bradford moved up from #23 to #1 at 0.0092, nine thousandths off the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award. 12:05 Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying session 1 One tyre up in smoke and a hard right turn for Matt Smith, a trail of fluid on the track told the tale of that one. Matt pulled across to the wall at the eighth, clean-up ensued. Word came back that Matt had tried to stop even sooner but that with fluid under a tyre the car was skating so Matt did the clever thing and let it roll to a halt.

The Webster Race Engineering / Nimbus Motorsport webcam will be on-line so long as the track is open each day. Thanks to Doyousee.me for the provision of streaming services. There will be no BurnoutCam this weekend due to a fractured fibre optic cable but it will be ready to return long before Dragstalgia so don't worry about missing the fire burnouts at that event. It's a pleasant day here at Santa Pod. A beautiful sunrise, currently a high overcast, mild with a very gentle breeze. A big Good Morning to all of the Eurodragsterholics, especially to our faithful fan Ivar Kolberg who is tuned in from Norway and to our webcasts' biggest fan James Humphreys who is tuned in from the environs of Billing. A tribute to late Wild Bunch racer Scottie Durrant is to be held at Shakespeare County Raceway at 09:30 this morning. Obviously we can't all be at Shakey, but wherever you are please give Scottie a minute's thought at 09:30. We will also be thinking of late Pro Modified legend Dave Warne who died on Thursday.
