13:10 Outlaw Flat Four qualifying session 5 Drama in the last pair as Dave Nicholls' car went up on one wheel on launch then turned over and slid on its side into the guardrail. The windscreen popped out making it easier for the start line and safety crews, who were there in moments, to communicate with Dave who got out of the car himself to a big cheer from the crowd. Dave is quite OK and the car not too badly damaged.

Current projected start time is 10:00. 09:05 Good morning and welcome from Santa Pod Raceway for our coverage of Big Bang brought to you in association with John Woolfe Racing. The Webster Race Engineering / Nimbus Motorsport webcam will be on-line and broadcasting live video and commentary / Nitro FM audio so long as the track is open each day. Thanks to Doyousee.me for the provision of streaming services. After rain, sleet and snow overnight it is now cloudless and chilly here at Santa Pod. There is a gentle cross breeze but not enough to cause a problem. As ever the strip is pretty much there so the shutdown area is getting all the attention. The traditional Raceday Hello to our US Correspondent Kathy Hileman who is tuned on from Rye, NH. Hope you are having a good weekend Kathy. Hello also to our much-missed Pit Reporter Simon who had another commitment this weekend but will be back with us at Shakespeare County Raceway next weekend where he will be photographing. Finally a big Good Morning to all the Eurodragsterholics; thanks for your support. Yesterday's gallery, a huge and varied collection courtesy of Grace and Julian, is now posted with apologies for the delay. We spent a lot of time last night fussing over the webcam PC (see below) and then didn't have power in our overnight accommodation to finish up and post. But it's there now and please join me in a big Thank You to Julian and Grace for bravign it out all day in far from ideal conditions. The situation with the webcam PC is that we will have to go with what we have today (i.e. what we had yesterday). The PC no longer resides in our office in Race Control but now lives out of harm's way, or so we thought, at the other end of the Tower with all of the timing and other servers. Yesterday we found to our horror that the vibration at that end of Race Control seems to affect the webcam PC more than it did when it was lodged with us. To move the set-up back here will mean removing what should have been permanent cable runs and we just can't do that during an event with Race Officials going about their business, it's a day-off-work job. We have done what we can to mitigate the problem today but if the vibration does for the PC then all we can do is to restart it and get the webcast going again as quickly as possible. Please bear with us and can we please have no repetition of what was at times quite abusive behaviour yesterday. Your Reporter (who was writing the live race report and commentating as well as trying to keep the webcast going) received more than his fair share of crap yesterday. No offers of help or advice, but plenty of crap. The plan for today is two cycles of qualifying and then eliminations. We are scheduled to start at 09:30 but this is contingent upon the drying of the shutdown area which to my inexpert eye looks to be going well. Tune back at 09:30 and we'll bring you the news.
