MSA Pro Modified qualifying session 3 (left lane first) Mick Payne 16.2727/51.38 bye; Wayne Nicholson 9.0851/107.55, Paula Atkin 7.0805/171.75; Andy Wright 6.8702/168.53, Kev Slyfield 6.3908/223.30; Chris Isaacs 8.3487/112.65, Robert Joosten 6.3348/215.96 Up against the 20:00 curfew now, race officials pointing to crew and then to watches. Foot launch for Mick and the Camaro went straight for the guardrail, shut if off about 100 feet out and completed the run on idle. Paula still working up on the new set-up and it's coming together nicely, 1.0543 to sixty, 4.4982/156.87 at the eighth, sounded like slight feathering of the throttle at half track but then stayed on it all the way. 1.0397 to sixty for Wayne then a move for the Vette and off the throttle by half track 5.1231/120.47. Paula put Wayne out of the ladder but Wayne should come in as an alternate for #2 qualifier and Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy Robinson. 1.0788 to sixty for Andy W, driving through shake and the Coupe made a move to the left, 4.2787/165.87 at the eighth and then a hard right turn in the second eighth, looked like another three wheel job and off the gas at that point. 1.0597 to sixty for Kev, 4.1810/176.12 at the eighth, straight run and a new PB, well done Kev! 1.0663 to sixty for Eurodragster.com sponsor Chris, drive through shake, hard right turn at the eighth 4.6548/132.85 and off the gas. 1.0028 to sixty for Robert, straight run to begin with but drifted right towards the eighth 4.1339/175.44, pulled it back and then shut off and chutes out before the stripe. Rick Garrett, who is running in UK Top Sportsman this weekend, followed with a checkout pass in his Willys. 1.0338 to sixty, some shake passing the Tree, 4.2378/172.38 at the eighth and 6.5123/214.88 at the stripe. Wayne had to pedal, back on the gas and the Vette did not want to go straight. 5.0298/130.65 at the eighth with his hands full and a gutsy second eighth as the Vette was moving left and right. Great pass for Robert, 1.0026 to sixty, 4.0768/180.53 at the eighth, into #1 spot. Great to see Mick back. Brief screaming burnout. 0.9970 to sixty for Robert, car made a little move to the right but he stayed with it, 4.1610/174.03 at the eighth and off it and chutes our after 1000 feet. 1.1224 to sixty for Mick, car started to make a move to the right from the hit. 4.7665/147.61 at the eighth, very close to the centre line at that point and off the has soon after. 1.0672 to sixty for Bobby, 2.8561 to 330 feet and then a big nitrous burp, front of the car briefly cloaked in flame. Wayne's car didn't move at the hit, shut off and pushed back. Eurodragster.com sponsor Chris deep staged robbing him of a touch of ET. 1.1014 to sixty, tyres squealing but no shake and a nice straight run. 4.4190/165.89 at the eighth. 1.1496 to sixty for Jean, by the time the Camaro got to the eighth both pipes were spitting flame 4.2998/170.78, the motor sounded to be misfiring and Jean shut it off before the stripe. 1.0442 to sixty for Roger, 4.2800/166.54 at the eighth, straight run with no visible drama. 1.0480 to sixty for Eurodragter.com sponsor Andy, shake started past the Tree and a lot of the way to 330 feet but it must have been one of those acceptable-level things since Andy stayed with it. 4.1088/182.44 at the eighth, visibly accelerating hard in the second half and into #1 spot. 1.0529 to sixty for Andy W to Kev's 1.0719, both hit shake, Kev drove through it whilst Andy tried to but had to pedal briefly as the Coupe went up on three wheels. 4.4075/145.11 to the eighth for Andy to Kev's 4.4409/166.34, Andy off and on the throttle a couple of times in the second half as the Coupe made serious moves left and right. 09:05 Good morning and welcome to our coverage of the Mopar EuroNationals brought to you in association with John Woolfe Racing. The Webster Race Engineering / Nimbus Motorsport webcam will be online broadcasting live video and commentary / Nitro FM audio so long as the track is open. Today the track is scheduled to open at 09:30 so the webcam will go on at about 09:25. Thanks to those who got in touch with appreciation of yesterday's Dragstalgia replays, we were very grateful for that. It's a beautiful day here at Santa Pod, blue sky with very few cloud. I think we all got to the end of yesterday thinking that we had wasted a day of our lives but there's nothing you can do about Mother Nature so no point in moaning about it (Facebook mizzogs please note). Today is a far better proposition so let's get excited about that. The strip is pretty much ready and it looks like finishing touches on the shutdown area. Having lost yesterday to the weather means that we have to try to squeeze Comanche Race Cars / JS Secure Security Solutions Top Sportsman Day 1 into today. The current plan is for the TS Test and Tune at 10:15 and then Pro Mod, Gasser Circus and TS E1 at 11:15. Just awaiting the new running order then we can confirm. Today we will be reporting on MSA Pro Modified and UK Top Sportsman; we will report upon the former in real time and we hope to do the same with TS although it depends upon how the timing system is set. Simon will be bringing you pit notes throughout the day and Kirstie is in charge of photography.
