17:10 Martin Hill followed Super Pro ET with a 5.9159/271.37 in the Fireforce 3 Jet FC. 4.0712/202.39 at the eighth. Super Comp qualifying session 5 Another nice RT for Pete Cresswell, 0.0052. Thomas Margesson goes right side and promptly moves up the ladder, #17 to #12. Next up, the wildest ride I think I have ever seen for Richie Webb in his Beetle, the car was going left and right all the way and made a particularly violent left move at about 1000 feet. Richie was off the gas and had the chute out - and bear in mind that he would have to have taken a hand off the wheel to do so. A gutsy drive.

Next pair and Simon Gough punted Paul down a place with a perfect run +0.0004 on dial-in good for #2 spot, well done Simon and The Package! Fourth perfect ET of the day and our third in Super Pro ET. Peter Lane to the start line for the first time with his new Chevy, 9.638 on an 8.98 dial-in, nice work Peter, Colin and team! Scott Hauser up from #14 to #11, in the other lane good to see Roger out on the start line with the S&K Racing team, can't remember seeing an amble for a while.

Had a good hold of it though. Tim Stanbury next up the ladder, #24 to #17 next pair. Another very close run for #1 qualifier Glenn Pallant, +0.0087 on dial-in this time. Next pair and a perfect 0.0003 RT for Dan Williams, well done Dan! Rhiannon Bellenie up from #15 to #3, +0.0099 on dial-in. Good to see John Dalrymple back after his earlier woes. Dave Murdoch up from #11 to #7 next pair, maybe a PB, if so then well done Davey! Super Street qualifying session 4 Matthew Seamarks' 100E stopped a few feet out in the first pair, start line crew ran to assist, all OK, restarted and continued down the track. Looked like problems for Leigh Morris, motor screamed a few feet out and he backed off and idled it through.

Improvement for Alex McIntosh good for #2, in the other lane Nigel Hale's big pick-up moved a few feet and then stopped. It took six people to push back... in a similar situation last week word came over the track radio "We're gonna need a bigger quad". Eurodragster.com sponsor Jon Webster into #1 spot a couple of runs later... which lasted a few seconds as Mark Todd blew away his Personal Best, took over #1 spot and did the first half of an ET record at 7.406, well done Mark!

14:35 Super Comp qualifying session 3 Spectacular but very naughty 8.084 by Richie Webb in his wild Beetle. Another small breakout for Tom Margesson in the other lane. Improvement for Pete Cresswell but stayed in #5 at that point. Fantastic run by Rene Kloss, perfect 8.9001 for #1 spot, well done Rene and Paul Marston Racing! Next pair and Dave Day moved up from #12 to #6, followed up the ladder by Conrad Stanley #17 to #12. Last run and Neil Hunter moved out of stage before the lights ran.

13:25 Super Gas qualifying session 2 Drama in the first pair as Stu Doignie's Vauxhall pulled the usual wheelie and a wide trail of fluid appeared from under the car, when the front end came down the front right wheel flapped about crazily, from here it looked like the suspension had given way. Whatever the failure, Stu kept a good hold of the car and had it safely stopped not far past the Tree as the start line crew sprinted to his aid. On the restart Bob Molden took over the lead from #4 spot.

Andy Bond and Mark Todd pushed back from stage as the timing system threw a brief wobbler, Steve Neimantas backing his Bentley out of the way almost reversed it into one of the tractors. On the restart Mark Todd took over #1 spot. Steve Neimantas next into the sevens, his pass good for #2 spot at that point. Great to see our good buddy and legendary Track Announcer Benni Voss out there photographing with his permanent trackside smile. Eurodragster.com sponsor and Eurodragster.com / Gold RV Perfect ET Award winner Pete Walters sat this one out and was an interested spectator at trackside. Ian Powell first to make a move up the ladder, #15 to #7 in the second pair. Simon Gough up from #24 to #14 next pair, a good pairing to watch with Brian Pateman's classic Firebird against Simon's modern-day Camaro. Brad Jackson next up the ladder, big move from #25 to #5 - half way through session two and already the top seventeen are separated by 0.080. First run of the season I believe for Dave Townsend, in at #21. Our first on-track look at Peter Lane's new Chevy, a very nice-looking piece of kit and its appearance this weekend was in part courtesy of a garage break-in, Simon will have that story for you. Nice easy first pass. Gordon Northway's first appearence in a long while, Gordon was hoping that his battery would last long enough to get the car to the line, which it did. Cobwebs and collywobbles nicely cleared, breakout for Rainier van Schelt in the other lane. Very unusual left-lane outing for Scott Hauser, good for two places from #20 to #18. Next pair and a great run for Billy Gane, up from #19 to #2 and +0.014 on dial-in. Big puff of smoke from Rick Cooke's motor in the last pair, hopefuly all OK.

11:00 Super Comp qualifying session 1 Great run for Stu Doignie to open the session and take #1 at that point, reaping the benefit of testing yesterday. Rene Kloss a very welcome guest in the dragster now owned by Paul Marston Racing, breakout for his first pass of the weekend. Neil Hunter launched and then backed off it, crew looked mystified. Super Comp 1059 closed the session alongside Jeremy Price, unless my eyes deceived me that was Conrad Stanley in what looked like Paul Brown's previous dragster.

10:50 Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying session 1 Steve Neimantas in testing yesterday had a dodgy moment as the Bentley tried to write his name on the track, things particularly hairy when it tried to cross the T and took out the 330 foot reflector. Nice straight run this time but a big puff of smoke from the motor at each gear shift. Hopefully nothing untoward. Mark Todd's tyres were blackstriping for a couple of hundred feet then the GTO twitched and Mark pedalled, a couple of pedals further aong the track also. Great run for Gary Gooding to take #1 spot at that point, next up was Stu Williams who tested yesterday, would that give him an advantage? No was the answer, but all eyes on Matt Smith in the other lane as the Escort pulled a sizeable wheelie, came down and then pulled another wheelie, black smoke from the motor, a move to the right but kept a hold of it.

10:40 Super Pro ET qualifying session 1 Rainier van Schelt has a good go at Burnout Of The Event and it's only day one. Good to see Mick Howling back on the track where he belongs, this time at the wheel of the Whoopass Monza. Congratulations to Eurodragster.com sponsor Pete Walters on a perfect 8.5003 on an 8.50-dial in for #1 spot and also the £50 Eurodragster.com / Gold RV Perfect ET Award, Derek and Fiona Flynn of Gold RV of course also support Pete. The Perfect ET Award goes to Super Pro ET for the second event running. 6.799 break-out on a 6.80 dial-in for Marck Harteveld but there was a blatant Blue Line violation by his crew so that run will be DQ'd anyway. Next pair and Jayne Kay shut off on the way back from her burnout. Bang and a puff of black smoke from Nick Spence's motor just past half track, made it to the top end on momentum. Next up and Willem van Baalen's fist competitive outing after licencing yesterday in the dragster formerly driven by Shari Koene, in the other lane Rod Harrison with a 6.00 dial-in for the alcohol dragster. New PB of 6.2482, well done Rod! That was the long way round and with a pedal by the sound of it too. Big breakout and new 8.0379 PB for Willem, well done Willem! Johan Oomen shut off after his burnout, fluid leak, in the other lane Chris Parker's motor sounded to be misfiring on the burnout but no problem on the run, in at #12 at that point. Brief clean-up in Johan's lane meanwhile Mark Adams was towed back to the pits.

10:05 Pro ET qualifying session 1 Last time I saw James Forster, leaving the Pod office on Wednesday evening, he said "I'm off to put in an engine". Looks like he did a good job, +0.229 on his second run since installing the motor. Great 0.0063 RT for Lee Huxley, not far off the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award and a tie with Morgan Wilson for best RT so far.

Slightly depleted field due to school exams today but plenty of time today and tomorrow for everyone to get in to the ladder. Saskia Fensome Jell the first to leave the line to open the 2015 Main Event, 0.0935 RT. Morgan Wilson the first to take a tilt at the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award with a 0.0063, good for #1 at that point... and indeed good for #1 at the end of the session.
