Second pair and Dave Russell moved up from #9 to #3, in the other lane Bob Doyle broke out with an 8.4510 on an 8.75 and the looks on his crew's faces were quite something. Brian Pateman next up the ladder, #27 to #23. Big breakout for Laura Turburville, 7.7647 on 7.90 dial-in, but you get the idea that the crew weren't too bothered. Next pair and Joe Stevens moved up from #39 to #32. Big move for Scott Hauser, up to #6 from #18. Next pair and Simon Gough moved up from #24 to #1, +0.0017 on dial-in. Chris Parker up from #13 to #8 next pair followed up the ladder by Marius Blackburn, #30 to #23.

17:05 Comp Eliminator qualifying session 4 Bad shake for Robin Orthodoxou, gave it a couple of goes and then shut off. Next run and Kev Perkins improved still further to consolidate his #1 spot. Guido Uhlir closed the session, small improvement but no change in position.

Next pair and Matt Smith improved again, stayed #7. Next pair and Gary Gooding into the sevens to the delight of the Team Extreme guys, well done Gary! Improvement for Antony Wilkins next pair. Steve Neimantas over 200 mph, well done Steve! Improvement for Johnny Smith in the other lane. Storming launch for Mark Todd but the car headed determinedly for the centre line and Mark shut it off.

16:35 Simon has posted a first set of pit notes which you can check out via the Event Index. Apologies that the webcam went out for a short while. Again not many clues given by the computer and there was also a race report to write so we did what we could as quickly as we could. if my hair wasn't thinning anyway I would have pulled it all out. Super Pro ET qualifying session 4 0.0096 RT by Bob Doyle in the first pair, in the other lane Willy Reerink moved up from #36 to #32. Next pair and a 0.0001 breakout for Simon Gough, doesn't come much closer than that except that this timing system works to eight decimal places in the background. Simon got in touch and asked us if we could work out his breakout as a distance, which we did, 0.28 inches, only for Simon to ask for it in millimetres. After initially replying that we're English and don't do such things we relented and in millimetres it was 7.11. We were then put on hold for light rain, as ever the track crew dealt with it speedily and efficiently. On the restart another run close to dial-in for Eurodragster.com sponsor Pete Walters, +0.0146 on dial-in. Dave Russell in the other lane broke out. Another move for Scott Hauser, #21 to #15. Next pair a great 0.0053 RT for Jack Brewster and in the other lane Laura Turburville moved up from #31 to #13 with a 7.9289 on 7.90 dial-in. Next up Deborah Laugher who has sprouted a new crew member in the person of our good buddy and Podington Pea Diana Macrae. DD makes a good back-up girl. Drama ensued soon after though, Mark Adams in the other lane had a transmission failure off the line and pulled over at about 400 feet as Deborah's 'Vette started fishtailing and then got into a serious pendulum before going up on two wheels, turning hard right and flipping over. The 'Vette then slid on its roof to the finish line. Safety crews moved very quickly indeed and in fact some of the start line guys were most of the way to Deborah's car before it had stopped sliding. Word quickly came back that Deborah is A-OK, her only injury a bruise gained during extrication and the windscreen and a scraped roof the only casualties on the car. Marius Blackburn and Joe Kellett first to the track on the restart. Marius' motor sounded as if it was misfiring on the burnout, tyres spun up at the hit and the altered made a right. Marius got off the gas, the altered twitched again when he got back on it and he called it a day. 0.005 RT for Marck Harteveld but then shake and shut off. Steve Kellett up from #33 to #7 with his beautiful Mustang, 8.1200 on 8.10 dial-in a new PB I think. #22 to #12 for Nick Good whilst Johan Oomen was pushed back after his burnout. Another great run for Bernard Saz, 7.2588 this time on a 6.90 dial-in, the car started to skate at half track so Bernard feathered the throttle in the second half. Nice run for Gordon Northway's pick-up after problems earlier, 8.5885 breakout on an 8.56 dial-in. Chief Starter Ian Marshall leaned in to Peter Lane's Chevy for a conflab before Peter ran, 8.8108 breakout on 8.88 dial-in.

I would have thought that Thomas' run stood since he recorded an RT which is all you need in Junior Dragster qualifying but we'll let race officials sort that one out and in the meantime we'll go with what the timing system says. Billy Everitt up from #17 to #9 next pair, followed up the ladder by Sam Holland-Villa, #11 to #5. Lottie Bradford into #1 spot from #17 with a 0.0045, getting closer to the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award. Caitlin Wilson up from #21 to #7 at 0.0216. Next up Dominik Novak's first run of the day in his handsome Mike Bos dragster, -0.0645 red, -0.0086 squeaker for Holly Moore in the other lane. First run of the day for Sarah Valesova next pair and a squeaker for her, -0.0034. Race officials confirmed that, as we thought, Thomas' run should stand so he is now second.

Guido a touch under index and a good baseline. Next run and another good opportunity to say Hi to Chris Orthodoxou watching brother Robin's progress. Robin had a good go at running over spotter Holley after his burnout, Holley was past half track which shows you how long the burnout was. Hideous tyre shake his punishment for shocking a lady but still under index.

Mark Todd sat this one out, no problems just perfectly happy with the previous pass. Minor repair job for Steve Neimantas, I'm told he should be back out in Q3. Improvement for Jeff Meads moved him back above Al Williamson. Great driving job by Eurodragster.com sponsor Jon Webster right on 330 feet, the big Comet turned hard right and was up on at most three wheels. Move to the right for Martin Smith in the other lane also although nowhere near as violent, puff of black smoke from the motor also. Track checked and found to be OK. Improvement for Matt Smith good for one spot up the ladder. Next up Steve Neimantas, minor repair effected then. Sounded to be misfiring at half track and rolled off the throttle.

Roy Wilding in at #18 with his first run of the day, the rail looked to be skating some at half track but there aren't many around with as much experience as Roy and he had it covered. Big move for Ian Powell, up from #33 to #7. Next pair and a huge wheelie for Joe Stevens even by his standards, Joe off the gas when it thumped down. In the other lane a fantastic run for Eurodragster.com sponsor Pete Walters, #13 to #1 at +0.0070. Next run and a breakout for Bob Doyle, 8.5390 on 8.55, but Crew Chief and Official Sloppy Kiss Supplier to Eurodragster.com Tracey Doyle looked very happy with it. Excellent run for Billy Gane! Up from #36 to #2 +0.0073 on dial-in. In the other lane Willy Reerkink again rolled through stage with his very clean Ford Taunus, plenty of sessions left to get a hold of it though. Had to go to the fifth decimal place to separate Sean and Simon Innes who stayed #1. Rhiannon Bellenie's dragster made a serious move just before the stripe, Rhiannon had it covered and I have seen the car do that before. Horrible graunching sound from Dan Williams' transmission on launch, Dan took it easy from there on. James Forster up from #10 to #5 next pair. Great run for Tony Harter, up from #25 to #6 two pairs later. Tony credits, or blames, Eurodragster.com Team Nutritionist Syd McDonald for getting him into racing. First run of the day for Alex Mahl, very welcome visitor, small breakout. Great run for Glenn Pallant, up from the bottom of the field to #5. Next pair and first run of the day for Rick McCann - two weeks ago he and Carla were at Tierp, then last weekend at Alastaro, the trip to Alastaro had to be cut short to go back to Sweden to change the engine in Rick's Camaro which also meant changing their travel plans to get here, Carla and Rick got here just before 01:00 this morning and there Rick is in #3 place +0.004 off the trailer. Hard work rewarded there I'd say! Geoff Cowley next up the ladder, #16 to #12. 0.0045 RT for Carla, no problems with the late night and almost earning her the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award. +0.081 buys you seventeenth place.

Lucas Oil Junior Dragster qualifying session 1 If you are tuned in to the webcam we were not on a loop during this session, that was our good buddy Spencer Tramm you saw crewing with five separate Junior Dragster teams. Nice RT from Saskia Fensome Jell to take #1 at that point and 0.009 off taking the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award.

Super Pro ET qualifying session 1 Great wheels-up launch and 0.9333 sixty for Martyn Jones' dragster, unload and shake on the touchdown forced him to pedal. Next pair and Jayne Kay couldn't get reverse after the burnout in her altered. Jayne got out of the car and hopped the guardrail whilst Lee Darby made his pass. Excellent run for Rod Harrison in his all-but Top Methanol Dragster, how you judge it +0.0671 in such a car I don't know but Rod did it, a new PB to boot, well done Rod! 0.0019 RT for Chris Parker, closest yet to the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award. Jayne back for another go (as she had not staged her earlier run officially didn't happen), big step to the right on launch but after her Fuel FC exploits Jaybe probably found that very easy to deal with.

We had a few sprinkles of rain early this morning but it cleared and as ever the track crew had it covered. Right now the gold dust is going down on the start line and the finishing touches are being applied to the shutdown area. Currently overcast but not cold and the radar is clear. A big Good Morning to all of the Eurodragsterholics tuned in around the planet, we'll do our best for you guys. The usual hello to our faithful fan Ivar Kolberg who is tuned in from Norway and also to Supertwin racer Job Heezen who can't be here this weekend but is tuned in from home.
