Roger away first 0.0981 to 0.0985, the much better sixty 0.9823 to Roger's 1.0541. Micke's Ca,aro started to get out of the groove at about 330 feet but he hung on to it and pulled it back. 3.9556/189.527 at the eighth to Roger's 4.2135171.47 and took the stripe by 0.5307.

Spuff's tyres up in smoke at the hit, 0.9908 to sixty for Kevin and his tyres shook and smoked and his blower belt left the car and fell onto the track about 200 feet out. Spuff idled along the track, Kev had enough momentum to take the win. Kevin Kent is your 2015 European Nitro Funny Car Series Champion, congratulations Kev and team!

Jari Halinen 4.4473/193.72 def. Micke Kågered 4.6402/167.83

Micke on his way back from his burnout before Jari's motor started. Jari signalled by starter Dave Warren to make a short burnout, complied and in fact he was ready and pulled forward to stage before Micke. Jari away first 0.0792 to Micke's 0.1155, Micke with the better sixty 0.8547 to Jari's 0.8929. Both cars' tyres blackstriped just before the eighth and from here it looked like both blower belts gave way. Jari ahead at the eighth 3.3256/226.83 and Micke 3.3421/194.30, Jari had enough momentum to carry it by 0.2292. The #9 qualifier and first alternate wins the event!

Winner of this one wins the Championship. Rikard got away first 0.0326 to 0.1928 but Ian quickly made it up with the better sixty 1.0360 to 1.0732 and to the eighth in 3.9987/190.44. Rikard was rolling off the throttle at the eighth 4.4750/141.86. Congratulations to Ian King on the 2015 FIM Europe Top Fuel Bike Championship, his ninth I believe.

The winner of the final wins the Championship.

Bruno shut off before his burnout, below us so I can't see the problem. Roger gave us all a shock on his return as he lost fire. Quickly restarted but then almost lost fire again whilst staging. 1.0506 to sixty, 4.2556/169.81 at the eighth.

Very brief burnout for Stefan, just barely on the throttle. Shut it off on the return from the burnout so maybe the brief burnout wasn't planned but some kind of breakage. Jari, in as alternate, now through to the final. Did the sensible thing, 0.8889 to sixty, off the gas at 330 feet.

Micke away first 0.0967 to 0.1181, the better sixty 0.8776 to 0.8811. Liam's tyre tracks stop abruptly at about 400 feet, I am guessing blower belt broke. 3.2387/247.34 at the eighth for Micke, car made a move to the right and Micke got off the gas, car's body language maybe said blower belt also. Micke there first by 0.4661.

Mats away first 0.1010 to Rick's 0.1358, Rick with the better sixty 0.9665 to Mats' 0.9890, no sign of shake for either. To the eighth it looked very close although the numbers belie it, Mats to the eighth in 3.9256/189.45 to Rick's 4.0824/173.60, Mats to the stripe by 0.4286.

Micke Gullqvist 5.9130/244.20 def. Thomas Stiefel 6.1514/230.09

Micke left Thomas for dead at the line 0.1228 to 0.2788, had the better sixty 0.9818 to 1.0148, Micke drove through shake which drifted his Camaro to the left but he pulled it back. 3.9103/192.82 at the eighth for Micke to Thomas' 4.0379/184.04. The stripe to Micke by 0.3944. No problems for Thomas, clean run, just plain outpowered.

Roger J's tyres only hazed on the burnout. Roger M left Roger J for dead at Tree 0.0970 to 0.2459. Roger J had the better sixty 0.9827 to 1.0396 but then he hit shake and his exhausts spat flame, shut it off before 330 feet. 4.2207/170.18 to the eighth for Roger M.

0.1834 to 0.2015 holeshot for Bruno, the better sixty 0.9441 to 1.0302. Meteoric eighth for Bruno 3.8719/188.58 to David's 4.0283/184.99, tyre rubbing smoke again for David. Bruno there first by 0.1530.

Rene away first 0.1830 to 0.2536, Fil had the better sixty 1.0585 to 1.1252. Fil quicker but Rene faster at the eighth 4.4358/155.12 to 4.5972/162.99, both bikes headed for the centre line and Fil looked to be off the gas before the stripe as was Rene but not before he had completed the job of reelign in Fil by 0.2061.

Rikard Gustafsson 6.6349/205.23 def. Nick Milburn 7.4096/144.85

Rikard away first 0.1991 to 0.2471, Nick's tyre went up in smoke and he had to feather the throttle. Rikard way in front by the eighth 4.3096/171.60 to Nick's 4.6494/174.39 and took the stripe by 0.8227.

Steve Woollatt 6.2850/194.54 bye, Glenn Borg shut off

Glenn signalled to shut off in pre-stage, not obvious why as no fluid on the track. Steve took the bye, 1.0515 to sixty, 4.0319/184.87 at the eighth, shut it off just before the stripe. As is usual with Steve a straighter run you'll never see.

Ian King 5.9441/236.21 bye

#1 qualifier bye for Ian. Would he go after lane choice or back up his speed record? 1.0365 to sixty riding through shake, 3.9214/197.81 at the eighth, no backup, but! This speed is good for a new Eurpean record backed up by Ian's qualifying run, well done Ian!

No sign of Martijn. Nice pass for Romasn, 1.2076 to sixty, motor hesitated for a moment just before the eighth 4.5192/166.08.

-0.0156 red by Stefan handed the race and the 2015 FIA European Top Methanol Dragster Championship to Dennis, congratulations Dennis! Dennis to sixty in 0.9035 with front wheels up, 3.5121/214.07 at the eighth. 1.0478 to sixty for Stefan, 3.8424/208.91 at the eighth, the usual vapour from Stefan's engine approaching the stripe.

Jonny Lagg 7.3971/178.52 def. Dave Wilson 12.4874/79.52

Jonny away first 0.0456 to Grumpoy' 0.0630, Grumpy's tyres up in smoke at the hit. 0.9548 to sixty for Jony driving through shake, then the left tyre gripped and turned the car hard right, we could see the decals on the right side of the car and everyone on the facility feared a T-bone of the guardrail - everyone that is except for Jonny who kept a hold of it and wrenched it straight missing the outer boundary by maybe one foot and then realising Grumpy wasn't around got back on the throttle. That is one of the best saves I have seen since I first came racing in 1977, well done Jonny!

Timo Habermann 8.0791/140.82 bye

#1 qualifier bye for Timo, no burnout and squeezed the throttle on and off along the track.

Thanks to Ian Hart for letting us know that after shifting problems yesterday Jan's team went to turn the motor over this morning and it made a clunking sound so investigations necessary. Michael's tyres spun up at the hit, 1.1680 to sixty, a pedal and then off it for good before the eighth.

Bye for Jimmy next round but so long as Thomas keeps winning Thomas will take the title.

Gordon away first 0.1876 to Kevin's 0.2478, Gordon's tyres up in smoke at the hit whilst Kevin got to sixty in 0.9217. Gordon pedalled a couple of times and the car picked up as Kev looked to be off the gas with smoke from his motor, blower belt maybe. Slowing 3.6768/168.40 at the eighth for Kevin to Gordon's 5.0940/199.79, Gordon steamed past Kevin past the stripe but Kevin had taken it by 0.9529. Kevin has to win the event to take the Series title.

John Spuffard 6.9033/97.30 bye

#1 qualifier bye for Spuff. 0.9230 to sixty, off the hard pedal about 200 feet out, looked liek a planned shut-off.

Holeshot win for Stefan who visibly spanked Eurodragster.com sponsor Urs at the line 0.0870 to 0.2458. Stefan with the better sixty 0.8940 to 0.9200 and the better 330 foot time at 2.2988 to Urs' 2.3596. Stefan's motor started to eat itself up just before the eighth with smoke and flame, 3.3098/242.71 to Urs' hard-charging 3.3498/257.19, Stefan shut off but his holeshot and momentum just got him there first by 0.0956.

Liam Jones 4.0297/295.83 def. Duncan Micallef 4.2459/273.46

The Maltese Lion away first 0.1404 to Liam's 0.1521 and then it was all Liam with the better sixty 0.8733 to 0.9187, 2.2582 at 330 feet to Duncan's 2.3436, storming at the eighth 3.2215/266.28 to Duncan's 3.3676/245.21 and the stripe by 0.2045. Liam's dragster headed left right on 1000 feet then got very close to the centre line with a pretty violent left-right move. Huge cloud of smoke from Duncan's motor in the shutdown area, something on the track - I am guessing the blower belt.

Jari Halinen 4.0287/304.86 def. Anita Mäkelä 4.1314/239.47

Jari, in as alternate for Patrik Pers, the kingmaker for Micke Kågered who is 2015 FIA European Top Fuel Dragster Champion by dint of Anita's defeat. Anita away first 0.1116 to 0.1557, Jari had the better sixty 0.8630 to Anita's 0.8875, Anita with cylinders out on both sides passing the Tree. Anita had the better 330 at 2.2525 to Jari's 2.2599 and the better eighth 3.2188/260.13 to 3.2300/262.45 but then her blower panel blew and something came off the car right after the eighth, chutes out and Jari took it by 0.0586.

Micke Kågered 4.0163/277.66 def. Stig Neergaard 5.3515/125.10

You don't always lose your first race as Champion! Micke away first 0.1131 to 0.1436, and had the better sixty 0.8539 to Stig's 0.8674. Micke better at 330 feet 2.2159 to 2.2552 then Stig looked to pedal for shake, smoke and I suspect his blower belt handed in its resignation at that point. Micke to the eighth in 3.1882/261.60, a flash of flame from the motor just past the eighth but the race safely won by 1.3657. Congratulations to Micke on his Championship.

Championship leader Rick Stubbins out in the first round, Garry Bowe needs to make the final to take the title. Records not backed up for Ven this time but at least one more opportunity.

Bizarre race netween Len and Karl-Heinz, Len away first as Karl-Heinz' motor hesitated off the line - 1.1345 to sixty for Len and 1.5837 for Karl-Heinz. But then Len sounded to have problems getting gears and shut off, Karl-Heinz got past him. 1.0870 to sixty for Robert, 4.4947/156.55 at the eighth whilst Mark was off the gas within 100 feet or so. No Allan, 1.1601 to sixty for Anders and to the eighth in 4.5656/155.22. Norbert's motor stopped a few seconds after firing up. Quickly sorted. Norbbert visibly moved first 0.3098 to 0.5317, Rick had the much better sixty 0.9361 to 1.0068. Norbert drive through shake past the Tree, no such problems for Rick who got to the eighth in 4.0609/172.27 to Norbert's 4.2756/167.05. The cars looked side by side in the second eighth but then a puff of smoke from Norbert's motor and he put the chutes out, Rick first to the stripe by 0.0985.

David Vegter 6.2368/229.06 def. Kev Slyfield 21.3552/34.40

David just away fist 0.1690 to 0.1695, Kev hit instant shake and shut off by the Tree. 1.0413 to sixty for David, 4.0953/184.73 at the eighth. The usual smoke from David's car, again we think tyre rubbing. Track checked in both lanes, all OK.

Jean visibly moved first 0.2483 to 0.4861, Thomas with the better sixty 1.0052 to 1.0839. Jean's exhausts started to spit flame and the Camaro moved left and he shut it off by 330 feet. 4.0512/182.00 to the eighth for Thomas and the stripe by 2,5071.

Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy just away first 0.0910 to 0.0914, 1.0697 to sixty and then terrible shake and shut off as the Camaro made a hard move right. 1.0473 to sixty for Roger, the Viper made a move left towards the eighth but Roger had it covered. 4.3013/165.83 at the eighth.

Roger and Paula both appeared to sit and look at the Tree for a moment, then Roger moved first 0.4037 to 0.4636. Roger with the better sixty 0.9866 to Paula's 1.0780, Roger way ahead by the eighth 3.9907/188.87 to Paula's 4.6422/151.16, Roger first to the stripe by 1.2406.

Wayne in as alternate for Roland Bolleter got away first 0.0533 to 0.1716, Wayne's holeshot all for naught as the car hesitated passing the Tree, looked like motor rather than shake from here. 0.9736 to sixty for Bruno and 3.8965/187.80 at the eighth, Wayne a fair way behind by then 4.9387/164.85. Smoke from Bruno's motor on the stripe.

Mats away first 0.1107 to 0.1843, the better sixty 0.9936 to Freddy's 1.0351. Freddy hit shake and the pick-up turned hard left, off the gas and back on it. Mats off and running by then, 3.9055/191.78 at the eighth to Freddy's 4,6174/161.87. Mats' Crown Victoria twicthed to the left at about 1000 feet and sounded like his blower relief panel blew right on the stripe.

Good morning and welcome to our coverage of the FIA / FIM European Finals brought to you in association with John Woolfe Racing.

It's a beautiful morning here at Santa Pod Raceway. As I look out of the office and down the track I can't see a cloud in the sky. The glue is going down on the strip as I type. We are due to start at 09:15 with the number one qualifier presentation followed by E3 of Super Pro ET then the first rounds of FIA Pro Modified and the FIM European Super Street Bike Cup, the National Anthem then all of our Pro classes.

The traditional Raceday Good Morning to our US Correspondent Kathy Hileman who is tuned in from Rye, NH. Hope you are having a great weekend Kathy. Good morning also to Kai Plathan tuned in from Finland and to all the Eurodragsterholics around the planet, continued thanks for your support. Finally thanks very much to Nev and Libby Mottershead for dinner and hospitality last night.

Subject to official ratification the FIA Top Methanol Funny Car and FIM Europe Supertwin Championships are done, congratulations to Leif Andréasson and Martijn de Haas respectively. We will of course bring you the Champions as the day goes on with the caveat that they will need to be ratified by the Co-ordinators.

We have a whole sheaf of European records waiting to be backed up, in fact five records are awaiting backup and two have been backed up, namely Dave Holland's 7.014/209.16 in the FIM European Super Street Bike Cup. Of course Steve Venables' 6.950 and 212.84 could supersede these.

As ever we will do our best to update after each pair during Pro eliminations so keep hitting Refresh when we get going.
