Super Street Bike eliminations round 1
Already confirmed as 2015 Champion, Garry Bowe came back from a huge visible holeshot by Bois to back up yesterday's 207.12 mph for a new
speed record, well done Garry and team! Next pair and Sam Sykes crossed lanes after 1000 feet, big sigh of relief from the timing crew as he
just missed the top end reflectors. Next pair and a new PB speed for Pete Field, well done Pete and Frank! Get Well Soon to Jemma Venables who
was a no show due to illess, Steve Venables also a no show. Steve Mead staged for his round win as he had the bye in Ven's absence. On hold for
spots of rain after Steve staged.

Many thanks to Steve Moxley for some pit notes:
In Funny Bike, well done to Stuart Crane for a new PB speed off the trailer, 186.61. Meanwhile points leader Dave Peters experienced clutch problems which left him qualified no.6. Overnight Dave installed a new clutch. Filippos Papafilippou, racing his new turbo bike had boost problems as he tried to shake out the bugs.
Bob Brooks who has had his split sump rewelded at the finals, suffered a blown head gasket. Nick Daniels recorded a 7.663 personal best ET, a two tenths improvement. And Phil Crossley, going well on his new bike, scored a new PB of 7.508/172.49.
Allan Davies was reported to have valve damage after two spark plugs melted and worked on repairing the engine yesterday evening. New speed record holder from the UK National Finals Lorcan Parnell had problems launching and was directionally unstable.
Comp Bike produced some new PBs, Eddie Smiley with a 7.836 and Mick Winyard with a 7.924. Points leader Kevin Osman had problems when the no.3 cylinder broke. Dave Batcheler who Kevin had helped earlier in the season, more than returned the favour by lending Kevin his bike. And John McLean Jnr revealed to Steve that he is running a Warpseed Racing clutch now.
In Super Street Pete Field ran a new PB of 7.181. Steve Venables suffered low oil pressure at the start of the day and decided to change engine before running 7.176 at an identical speed to Pete's of 203.48 to go second. Steve's daughter Jemma has gone home unwell and we hope you feel better soon. Meanwhile Mark Wells decided to use his spare 1300cc engine which had been in the back of his van for the last three years; after utilising all six gears this time, Mark carded a 7.577/195.55.
In Supertwins, we have lost SPRC Supertwin Top Gas Champion Chris Mott to a broken primary belt and Supertwin ET racer Brett Cordelle, to be replaced by dad Phil.
Straightliners action included a racer we hadn't seen in some time, Shaun Branch who successfully tested a new bike with electronic fuel injection and, as ever, supercharged. And finally a highly unusual combination for Dave Holland - a production Ducati that went 8.88/140 yesterday.
11:10
Shutdown area still being attended to but in the meantime Simon has been doing his sums and we have two UK Champions already decided
before we go into eliminations. Congratulations to:
ACU Super Street Bike: Garry Bowe
UK National 9.50 Bike: Richard Sawatzki
Stay tuned and when there is news on a start time we will bring it to you.
10:25
Qualifying cycle 5 and the first Straightliners session have been cancelled. If you check out today's provisional
running order then we will be starting at the 11:25 point, i.e. 9.50 Bike Q6 and all but a few other classes going
into eliminations. We will let you know at what time this will commence; the shutdown area is still being attended to.
08:15
Good morning and welcome to our coverage of the Extreme Performance Bike Weekend brought to you in association with
John Woolfe Racing.
The Webster Race
Engineering / Nimbus Motorsport webcam is on-line broadcasting live
video and commentary so long as the track is open (see below). Thanks to Doyousee.me
for the provision of streaming services.
We had light rain overnight and then mist came down so the track is currently damp. As ever the tireless track crew are out there doing their
thing, as they have for more than an hour already. It is mild outside with a gentle breeze which will help things along as will the jet dryer which
has just fired up below me.
Given the above we will not start the webcam until we are somewhere near starting; stay tuned to this report for updates.
The traditional Raceday Good Morning to our US Correspondent Kathy Hileman who is tuned in from Florida. Hope you are having fun
Kathy. A big Good Morning also to all of the Eurodragsterholics, and to Supertwin Gas racer Chris Mott who has unfortunately had
to withdraw after his beautiful Harley's motor lost a drive belt and no replacement could be found. Wish you were here Chris but we
take your point about being warm.
The plan for today was for one more full qualifying cycle and then an extra qualifier for some classes whilst others go into eliminations,
with Straightliners in between each Championship session. I guess this may change depending upon our start time but stay tuned and as
soon as we have any updates for you we will be right back.
