That's qualifying done for today; we are now going into a final Straighliners session which will be led by Chris Hannam on his Supertwin... which has just refused to fire up. Stay tuned as we will shortly be starting work on today's gallery. 17:35 Super Street Bike qualifying session 4 Consistent 7.1 from Ven in the first pair, very close indeed to the left guardrail just past the stripe and in fact I thought he had glanced off it, but the top end safety crews didn't move so I guess Ven pulled it sharply away. Steve Mead up to #7 in the third pair. Could Garry Bowe back up his speed record? Not this time, wheelspin at the hit and then a couple of wheelies, shut it off.

16:55 Funny Bike qualifying session 4 Phil Crossley up to #3 in the first pair, in the other lane an early shut-off by Lorcan Parnall and some smoke from his motor. Next run and a great run for Nick Daniels moved him up from #10 to #5. Although another troubled run a time on the board for Dave Buttery, thirteen bikes now qualified so a sixteen-bike field tomorrow. Improvement for Alex Hope consolidated his #2 spot, in the other lane a great launch for Fast Fil on his new bike but then shut it off by 300 feet. Track check and clean-up ensued.

16:45 Comp Bike qualifying session 4 Paul Hambidge into top spot in the first pair. Next pair and a bang and flash of flame from Dave Smart's bike, pulled over and stopped about 300 feet out. Safety crew rushed to help, Dave's bike was then towed towards the top end and it appeared that he came off the bike just under the finish line gantry. The medical team attended, looked like a trip to the Medical Centre for a check-out.

14:50 Junior Drag Bike qualifying session 3 Charlotte Hales up from #3 to #2 in the second pair. Bit of a breakout for Megan Talbot, 12.605 on a 13.05 dial-in. Penultimate pair of the session and Jack Shook moved up from #8 to #1 +0.005 on dial-in. Stacey Reed up from #12 to #9 in the last pair.

We're now going into session 3 of Straightliners, the next qualifying session will be in one hour. 14:45 Super Street Bike qualifying session 3 Stormer for Ven to take #1 spot. Bois very close indeed to the finish line reflector, from here it didn't look as if he touched it but the timing crew went to put it back and the tractor went and swept the finish line, maybe it saw him coming and stepped to one side. Consistency from Pete Field, 0.01 quicker than his previous best. Improvement for Steve Mead, up from #11 to #9. Daniel Donat Lencses improves still further, up from #6 to #3. Garry Bowe into #1 in the last run of the session and the first half of a new speed record at 207.12 mph into the bargain, well done Garry! As things stand we only have twelve bikes qualified, thirteen needed for a sixteen-bike field which will change the number of Championship points available.

Next pair and a perfect 8.5006 by Andy Haley, good for #1 qualifier and the Eurodragster.com / Gold RV Perfect ET Award; Kirstie was on the scene and checked her photographs and Andy's bike is carrying the requisite decals. Well done Andy! In fact doubly well done since Andy was the first to run a 9.500 when the index of that class was changed from 9.90 so he is the first to go perfect in both classes.

That lasted two pairs as Alfie Udall took over top spot from #12, +0.0137 on dial-in.

12:05 Super Street Bike qualifying session 2 Steve Venables in civvies overseeing Jemma, hopefully not indicative of engine damage. Jemma Venables up from #4 to #3 and Steve Wood up from #8 to #4 first pair, then Richard Hann went in at #2 next pair. That was followed by a great run by Pete Field to take #1 spot, 7.1951. Garry Bowe up from #9 to #5, over 200 mph also and that was with a feather of the throttle off the line. Daniel Donat Lencses closed the session moving up from #12 to #4.

11:40 8.50 Bike qualifying session 2 Ian Chrichlow with a rather naughty 8.2532 in the opening pair; Ian got in touch earlier this week to ask if the webcam would be running this weekend - maybe now we know why he was interested. Next pair and a great run by Jay Roe to consolidate his #1 spot, 8.5111. Jake Mechaell up from #3 to #2 next pair although that only lasted a moment as Augy Harrison up from #8 to #2 in the final pair.

09:45 Good morning and welcome to our coverage of the Extreme Performance Bike Weekend brought to you in association with John Woolfe Racing. We had a small amount of rain overnight but the track crew have been hard at work, the shutdown area is done and we're pretty much ready to go and the first classes have been called to the pairing lanes for Q1.
