MSA Pro Modified final
Andy Robinson 6.2047/233.76 def. Andy Wright 6.6962/212.09
Andy W away first 0.1200 to 0.1240 but Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy R was catching up by sixty feet 1.0232 to
Andy W's 1.0772. Slight shake for both passing the Tree then Andy R was visibly pulling away and had a clear lead
at the eighth 4.0660/180.27 to Andy W's 4.4107/167.78 but the Coupe was going nice and straight. All eyes on Andy
W in the second half as there was smoke and then a flash of flame from his motor and a fire which continued into
the shutdown area. Looked from here as if Andy W triggered the fire bottles and then the Coupe turned right and
stopped opposite Exit 1 giving that exit's safety crew very little distance to go to get to him, if that was a deliberate
act and not sliding in oil then that was remarkable presence of
mind from Andy W given everything else which must have been going on. Couldn't tell from here whether the Coupe nosed
into the wall but if not then it was a close thing... word is that it did not. Safety crews were already moving and
were there in moments. Word is that Andy is A-OK.

MSA Pro Modified eliminations round 2
Andy Robinson 6.2324/236.16 def. Chris Isaacs 6.6960/212.08
A race of the Eurodragster.com sponsors, Chris reinstated after Frosty was DQ'd for a technical infringement in round 1.
Andy away first 0.1607 to 0.2184 and had the better sixty 1.0185 to Chris' 1.0892. The Duster was visibly accelerating
very hard but moving around its lane some. Andy to the eighth in 4.0931/176.81 to Chris' 4.3770/167.15. The Duster got
very close to the centre line in the second eighth but Chris stayed on the gas and pulled it back, blew away his Personal Best again, well
done Chris, Spencer and the team! Another straight and, from here, shake-free run for Andy and the conditions very
finely judged by both cars' tuners.
Andy Wright 8.7099/128.31 def. Kev Slyfield 8.3313/115.08 DQ
Huge -0.3258 red for Kev handed it to Andy. 1.0947 to sixty for Andy and then again the hideous shake and the hard
right turn. One pedal, on it again, the Coupe moved around and Andy shut it off.

MSA Pro Modified eliminations round 1
Chris Isaacs 8.3575/128.30 def. Andy Frost 6.8215/216.95 DQ
Eurodragster.com sponsor Chris visibly away first 0.2106 to 0.3342, the better sixty 1.0689 to Frosty's 1.1523 but then
hit shake and the Duster started to get close to the guardrail. From the car's body language it looked as if Chris pedalled
once but the Duster was very close to the rail and Chris got off the gas before the eighth 5.0489/135.23. Frosty meanwhile
blackstriped the first 300 feet or so and was going great guns at the eighth 4.5407/166.77, but then smoke started to appear
from the motor of the Vauxhall which continued through the stripe and down the shutdown area. Safety crews chased Frosty down
as a precaution, track checked and found to be OK.
Frosty subsequently DQ'd for a technical infringment so the Isaacs and Tramm Duster is back in competition.
Kev Slyfield 7.0958/149.56 bye, Bobby Wallace no show
Bobby Wallace and team investigating an oiling problem so Kev took a bye to the semis. Would he stage for the round win?
Would he bog-roll, a screaming last-photographer burnout ruled out that possibility. Looked like a planned 1000-foot pass
and a great run. 1.0608 to sixty, 4.3233/166.62 at the eighth, very straight and no sign of shake - looked from here like one of
those passes where the tune-up was perfect and everything worked fine.
Andy Wright 9.5224/83.80 def. Rick Garrett 7.3335/151.66 DQ
-0.1378 red for Rick handed this to Andy. 1.0316 to sixty for Andy but then the trouble started, shake and the Coupe
turned left then hard right. Off the gas to pull the car straight and stayed off it. Rick also had his hands full
as the Willys headed for the centre line and it was quite a violent move when Rick pulled it back.
Andy Robinson 6.1504/231.34 def. Wayne Nicholson 10.1035/88.39 DQ
-0.1150 red from Wayne gave it to Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy but on the plus side of the ledger Wayne's motor sounded
a lot better this time out, I guess the Lucky Devil team found whatever was ailing the car. Fantastic run for Eurodragster.com
sponsor Andy, would have taken some beating. Not a foot wrong - 0.9912 to sixty, absolutely no shake marks visible on the track.
4.0133/180.53 at the eighth, and the Camaro went so straight that you could use its tyre marks as a ruler. Andy's quickest
run yet with the new car; thanks to MSA Championship PR Robin Jackson for that snippet.
