19:25 Comp Bike qualifying session 4 Improvement for Dave Smart in the first pair but stayed #6. Next pair and Allan Davies' tail light came off the bike somewhere between the start line and the far end of the track so a brief hold to walk the track and locate it, since we didn't want anyone running into it at high speed. Tony Clark up from #5 to #4 on the restart. Paul Hambidge run after Funny Bike to allow cool-down time and moved up from #5 to #4.

8.50 Bike qualifying session 4 We met Martin Walker earlier on today and he asked us to be certain to say something nice about him. In the third pair the chain came off his bike and oil was found on the track from the break point about 100 feet out to the finish line. Martin did not do this on purpose... hope that's nice enough Martin! Meanwhile in the other lane Eugenia Hensley took over #1 spot +0.0048 on index and came close to taking the Eurodragster.com / Gold RV Perfect ET Award. On the restart an improvement for Jake Mechaell but stayed #5.

17:10 Junior Drag Bike qualifying session 3 Charlotte Hales #8 to #5 and Louis Davies #5 to #3 in the first pair. Next pair Jasmine Cordelle with all her problems solved by the look of things, up from #8 to #2. Jordan Kenway up from #3 to #1 next pair +0.028 on dial-in. Problems for Stacey Reed last pair, trouble selecting gear, shut off and pulled over. Blade Dummer up to #6 in the other lane.

17:05 Super Street Bike qualifying session 3 1.2887 the best SSB sixty foot time so far today, courtesy of Jemma Venables in the first pair. Improved but stayed #6. Well that best sixty lasted a minute or so, next run Graham Balchin pulled a 1.2676 sixty and went into #1 spot from #5 to boot. Maybe I shouldn't have started this sixty foot thing - next pair Steve Venables pulled a 1.2444, our first 7.2 and first 200 mph of the weekend and into #1 spot. Pete Field back into #2 and an improvement for Danny Cockerill. Everyone in the sevens now. Strong launch for Garry Bowe but then shut it off. Dave Holland back to the start line having shut off before staging early in the session, shut off this time for a fluid leak.

Funny Bike qualifying session 3 In the first pair Dave Buttery's bike headed right and he shut off as it got close to the guardrail. Stopped on the shutdown area and a short hold for retrieval. Great run for Bob Brooks moved him up to #2 next pair, in the other lane Gary Jones shut off early after a storming start and had to be retrieved from the shutdown area.

Next pair and Steve Ashby rode out a 100-foot wheelie (distance not height), had it very well controlled and put it down gently, didn't seem to lose much time at all - Steve's years of experience in the class showing there I think.

08:50 Good morning and welcome to our coverage of the Extreme Performance Bike Weekend brought to you in association with Alamo Rent-A-Car. It's a damp start here at Santa Pod, overnight rain has given way to on-and-off drizzle. However it's not at all cold and it's quite breezy so the track shouldn't take long to dry once the drizzle stops. The radar currently has the rain over and done with within a couple of hours although is does appear that some of it at least is raining itself out before it gets here. The track crew have been out for more than an hour getting the worst of the water off the track. When we start the plan is for alternating sessions of ACU / UK National Championships qualifying and then Straightliners. Our buddy Martyn the Straightliners timekeeper is already in the house and hopefully we will be able to cadge the Straightliners results from him.
