Katie Ellis followed with a demonstration run in Santa Pod's Junior Stock Dragster. Excellent 0.006 RT, 17.7267/34.76 at the eighth. 17:55 Apologies for the webcam downtime - not really sure what happened there, the webcam program put up a weird message which I had not seen before and it only did so after the stream had been stopped for a while. All sorted now. 17:50 Top Fuel Dragster licencing Noah Stutz 4.4300/208.94 bye Motor stopped as soon as it fired up, a quick hand-spin to clear the pipes and it fired up happily next time. Some consternation from one of the crew before Noah went to stage but another crew member took hold of her to stop her approaching the car. 0.8904 to sixty and looked like two cylinders out at that point and the car was being pushed left from then on. 2.3249 to 330 feet, 3.3949/233.39 at the eighth and then off the gas as the car got right on the centre line but didn't cross it. Martin Hill followed with a 6.0084/233.59 in the Fireforce 3 Jet FC. 4.0793/198.75 at the eighth and shut off about 1100 feet. 17:40 MSA Pro Modified qualifying session 3 (left lane first) Jean Dulamon 9.2134/118.85, Rick Garrett 6.7553/205.15; Steve Hall 8.1416/135.23, Kev Slyfield 7.7229/173.72; Marcus Hilt 7.1788/175.75, Graham Ellis 6.5923/226.76; Bruno Bader 6.1656/222.43, Andy Frost 6.8818/221.21 Big burnout for Rick but then the Willys got a real fishtail on as Rick got off the pedal. Had his hands full for a moment there but kept a hold of it, impressive tyre tracks though. Nice run for Rick. 1.0191 to sixty, slight shake which he drove through, 4.3544/162.79 at the eighth. 1.3921 to sixty for Jean and then the nitrous burp at 150 feet. Back on the gas and another nitrous burp at the eighth. PB ET and speed for Rick, well done Rick! Shakefest for Steve and Kev. 1.1152 to sixty for Steve, 1.1815 for Kev. Both pedalled for shake, Steve made a couple of attempts and was off it passing the eighth. Kev's Coupe started making moves left and right and there was a puff of smoke from the motor at the eighth 4.8973/140.35 but judging by the speed he was on it a while longer. 1.0617 to sixty for Marcus, the Vette drifted left a little but he stayed with it. 1.1333 to sixty for Graham, much stronger launch and the Bird going straight. 4.5198/151.99 to the eighth for Marcus, some haze from the motor. 4,3472/170.80 to the eighth for Graham, clean-looking run. 0.9969 to sixty for Bruno, no shake to speak of, 4.0063/181.96 at the eighth and on the gas all the way. Frosty hit bad shake off the line, we could feel it up here in Race Control. 1.2444 to sixty, looked like one pedal then back on it. 4.6686/173.59 to the eighth, good recovery given that shake. Nick's motor stopped in the burnout, my guess is blower belt but not easy to see from here. Joe took the bye, 1.0144 to sixty, driving through shake, the altered started to try to spell his name on the track - and I mean the "B" of Bond - but Joe stayed on the gas and simply drove out of it. 4.2125/168.40 at the eighth, more moves left and right towards the stripe but Joe stayed with it. Funny Bike qualifying session 2 Improvement for Maarten Zijlstra but stayed in place. Dale Leeks shut off in the bleach box next pair, bye for Rick Stubbins in at #4 at that point. Stefan Schmidt shut off on the line next pair, Eric Richard took an 8.3361/130.19 bye. Wild ride for Gary Jones at the end of the session, real bucking bronco, shut it off about 100 feet out. Kept hold of it far better than I would have.

15:50 Comp Eliminator qualifying session 2 First competitice outing for Dave James' station wagon, the sun came out just as the car started to move our of the pairing lanes and the metalflake paintjob was a joy to see. Easily a candidate for Best Appearing Car I'd say. Dave and Andy Hone preparing to stage then shut off, timing beam out at the top end. Another nitrous burp for Fred on launch, start line crew grabbed the extinguishers and sprinted to help. Nice run for Dave, feathering the throttle a little. Fantastic run for Paula Atkin, looked to have the chutes out on the stripe so maybe a bit more yet to come.

Great run for Bruno especially into this headwind. 0.9810 to sixty, 4.0130/181.27 in the second eighth, off the gas and chutes out before the stripe which took a lot of speed off. Several nitrous purges for Rick before staging. 0.9989 to sixty which I would imagine is a PB, shake passing the Tree and shut it off. Graham allowed a test run out of session. Relatively gentle 1.2960 to sixty, 4.7250/175.75 to the eighth, car moved around a little, brief pedal and back on the gas. Qualifying after this session:

Laura Turburville back in her own slingshot today after a turn out in Noah Stutz' Super Comp rail yesterday. In the other lane Nick Spence in a welcome return to competition after a long break.

11:00 Pro ET qualifying session 1 Great start for Paul Jackson in his new car, 9.830 on a 9.79 dial-in in the first pair, didn't take long to get the hang of that car then! Mike Lacey in at #1 next pair, +0.020 on dial-in. Good to see Guy Chamberlain taking a turn in Pro ET in his very rapid Honda, in at #3 at that point +0.133 on dial-in. Next pair and Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award sponsor Tig Napier came in at #2. Speaking of which Paul Marston took today's first tilt at the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award with a 0.006 RT in the final run of the session.

The Webster Race Engineering / Nimbus Motorsport is on-line and will broadcast live video and commentary (Nitro FM are not present this weekend) so long as the track is active. The ever-working track crew have been out since early this morning. Right now there is rain in the air but the radar shows a gap behind it. A big Good Morning to our Pit Reporter Simon who is unable to attend today but who will be with us tomorrow. Hope your day is going well Simon and we look forward to seeing you in the morning.
