A lot of smoke from the right bank when Thomas' motor started. 0.8627 to sixty but appalling shake started about

no problem on the run. Risto away first 0.1425 to 0.1807 and had the much better sixty foot 0.8718 to 0.9167.
Both cars' tyres went up in smoke about 250 feet out, both motors started screaming. Risto shut it off whilst

eighth but stayed with it and went into #1 spot. No sixty for Anita, 0.8927 to sixty for Jari but then bad shake ands
shut it off about 100 feet out. Anita stayed with it although she had what looked like two cylinders out on the
right side. 3.5012/229.03 at the eighth then possibly broke a blower belt after the eighth, the car's body
language looked that way.

Marc Meihuizen 6.3229/230.51, Bruno Bader 6.3998/210.90
1.3916 to sixty for Norbert S, a brief hesitation - maybe foot pushed off the throttle - then feathered the throttle
to half track 5.8432/121.76, shut it off just after the eighth. Similar story for Steve, hesitation off the line,
1.1564 to sixty. Very close indeed to the 330 foot reflector and feathered the throttle before shutting off past the
eighth 5.4878/116.24. 1.1208 to sixty for Graham but shake which sent the bird heading for the guardrail, getting very
close at 300 feet or so. Graham pedalled and got it straight but shut it off before the eighth 5.5601/97.56.
jean had one of his nitrous burps just before pulling his burnout, start line crews rushed with the fire extinguishers.
Andy took the bye and a great one it was. 1.1076 to sixty, 4.3443/173.74 to the eighth, very straight pass with not much sign
of shake. Straight in at #3. No visible war wounds on Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy's Camaro. 1.0171 to sixty for Andy
and then hideous shake, 1.0292 for Mats W. Andy pedalled for a while and then got back on it, 5.1484/141.60 at the eighth and
smoke from the motor in the second eighth. Meanwhile Mats had driven through shake and stayed with it, 4.3982/161.94 at the eighth and in at #5,
smoke from Mats' motor in the second half also. Hideous shake for Mats E at the hit, 1.4367 to sixty and a long pedal. 1.0076 to
sixty for Rick then the right side of the motor started to smoke. Suddenly there was a bug nitrous burp from Rick's motor
and the scoope flew into the air and landed in the other lane but Mats was already out of the way, 5.5647/159.04 eighth to
Rick's 5.7372/98.12. Oil found in Rick's lane.
One clean-up later Micke took a bye. 0.9815 to sixty, storming 3.9602/187.37 at the eighth - no sign of shake, not a foot wrong,
into #1 spot. Next up Marcus on a bye. 1.0495 to sixty, pedal for shake and a puff of smoke from the right bank. 4.5887/164.86
at the eighth, smoke from the right bank again towards the stripe. Improvement but stayed in place. Great driving job
by Robert in the next pair. 0.0830 RT, 1.0174 to sixty, then shake set in but Robert stayed with it. The Camaro swayed left
and right and then made a hard move left and took out the eighth-mile reflectors, looked to be up on two wheels at that point.
Robert with great presence of mind put the chutes out and got a hold of it. 1.0265 to sixty for Kev, tried to drive through
shake but then shut off likely as he saw Robert crossing the centre line in front of him.
Big move from David's car as he got off the gas in the burnout, hard right then hard left. 1.0997 to sixty for
Mattias and 1.0289 for David, then both hit bad shake - bad enough to shake the breather filter off Mattias' car.
Both off the gas by about 330 feet. Long way round for both Marc and Bruno. 0.9970 to sixty for Marc to Bruno's quicker
0.9886. Both tried to drive through shake and both pedalled briefly, a puff of smoke from Bruno's motor as he pedalled it.
Both back hard on the gas, Marc to the eighth in 4.1269/173.59 to Bruno's quicker 4.0916/171.45. Both cars moved around
their lanes in the second eighth especially Marc's but he hung onto it. More smoke from Bruno's motor in the second half.

Thomas Lindström 6.6351/209.14, Michael Malmgren 6.7154/204.18
Fantastic pair to start the session and to exorcise the demons of session 1. Magnus in storming form.
0.9667 to sixty to Mats' 1.0199 and driving through shake, visibly ahead at the eighth 4.3391/161.66 to
4.4907/157.31. Jimmy into #1 and on ET and speed records now. 0.0397 RT and the much quicker sixty 0.9924 to Micke's 1.0015
and the much better eighth 4.2703/166.35 to 4.3308/164.12. Thomas backs up his earlier speed record in this round
and sets a new ET record, well done Thomas! Michael away first 0.0798 to 0.1251 but that was it for the better
incrementals as Thomas took it all from then on. 0.9834 to sixty to Michael's 1.0114 and 4.2719/165.87 at the eighth to
Michael's 4.3290/164 .

Steph Milam 7.6551/97.77, Jonnie Lindberg 5.6096/263.58
Nice pass by Jürgen to open the session, new PB speed. 1.0333 to sixty, car headed for the guardrail but
Jürgen stayed with it. 3.9375/192.00 at the eighth with a brief pedal but otherwise on it all the way. Up
into #2 at that point. Big 0.1814 to 0.5350 holeshot for Leif. 0.9352 to sixty, the FC bouncing through the eighth
3.6532/202.42 but Leif stayed on the throttle all the way. 0.9953 to sixty for Gareth, 3.9491/190.14 at the eighth.
Very close indeed to the guardrail in the shutdown area but all OK. Leif straight in at #1, Gareth up a spot. Great
pairing between Rob and Adam. Rob visibly away first but Adam had the better sixty 0.9673 to 1.0464. Adam ahead at the
eighth 3.8665/194.30 to Rob's 3.9331/177.70. Rob shut it off at about 1000 feet and put the chutes out before the
stripe. Jonnie left Steph for dead at the line 0.1115 to 0.5712 and you could tell it was a special run. 0.9556
to sixty for Jonnie to Steph's 1.0645. Steph's FC headed left and she was off the gas around the eighth 4.3378/168.55.
Meteoric 3.7146/202.93 to the eighth for Jonnie having driven through shake, the FC was moving left and right but
Jonnie stayed with it and did the first half of a European speed record. Well done Jonnie!

FIA Top Methanol Dragster qualifying session 2 (left lane first)
Paul Ingar Udtian shut off, Tethys no time
Tethys carried on up the track after his burnout and the dragster never stopped, went into the field at the
end of the shutdown area albeit at low speed. Short hold to recover the dragster from the field.
Paul Ingar Udtian 5.5791/252.99 bye
Great pass for the second time of asking. 0.9454 to sixty, 3.6561/205.27 at the eighth. No sign of shake and straight as you like.
Qualifying after this session:
- Paul Ingar Udtian 5.5791/252.99
- Tethys 5.9066/260.99
16:55
Pro ET qualifying after session 2
Nigel Green up from #29 to #17 first pair. Tim Stanbury +0.004 second pair, consistent with his previous run.
0.007 RT for Paul Jackson next pair, tilting at the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award.
Big move for Simon Innes next pair, up from #16 to #3. 0.004 RT for Dave Cherrett and up from #31 to a slightly
safer #22. Big moves side-by-side for Keith Herbert and Sarah Styles, up from #30 to #14 and from #32 to #16
respectively. Drama in the next pair as there was a cloud of smoke from Antony Wilkins' Morris Minor right on
the stripe then the car turned right, hit the guardrail and then rolled across to the other side of the track.
Butch got himself out of the car whilst the safety crews rushed to his aid, again they moved very fast. Word
later came back that Butch is quite OK.
On the re-start Mike Lacey moved up from #12 to #6. In the closing pair of the session Eurodragster.com / Bad
Habit Racing Perfect Light Award sponsor Tig Napier moved up from #33 to #12.

Steve away first 0.1553 to 0.2370, Ian had the quicker sixty foot 1.0233 to Steve's 1.0652, looked from here as if the
rear tyre unloaded as the front came down. Ian got off the throttle for a long while. 4.1934/174.92 to the eighth
for Steve and shut it off about 1100 feet out.
Qualifying after this session:

European Funny Car Series qualifying session 1 (left lane first)
Kevin Kent did not start;
Jason Phelps 6.7551/138.21 bye;
Gordon Smith 5.6541/207.23, John Spuffard 7.2215/123.55;
Kevin Kent did not start; Henrik Christensen 9.9399/87.54 bye (observed run)
A couple of goes at starting Kevin's motor but it was having none of it so the West Ten car was pushed
back and Jason's Marshall Amlification car was pushed round. 0.9553 to sixty for Jason, no shake to speak of.
2.5420 to 330 feet then off the gas just before the eighth 3.8123/173.68, judging by the smoke from the headers
I wonder whether the blower belt broke. Huge 0.2217 to 0.4793 holeshot for Gordon. 0.9317 to sixty for Gordon and
0.9298 for Spuff who then drove through shake until his tyres went up in smoke and from here ot looked like his
blower panel blew - difficult to tell in all the smoke. Slowing 3.9728/162.74 at the eighth, meanwhile we could
hear rather than see Gordon, 3.6710/221.25 at the eighth and sounded to shut it off at about 1000 feet.
Kevin's motor again refused to start and the car was pushed back. Henrik has two passes left to complete his
licencing. Tuner John Smith concerned about the idle speed on fire-up and again on return from the burnout.
0.9695 to the sixty, shake at about 120 feet and off the gas.
Qualifying after this session:
- Gordon Smith 5.6541/207.23
- Jason Phelps 6.7551/138.21
- John Spuffard 7.2215/123.55

Stig Neergaard 6.3310/107.30, Micke Kågered 6.7495/102.78;
Antti Horto did not start, Anita Mäkelä 5.5329/121.88 bye;
Jari Halinen 5.4808/121.41, Risto Poutiainen 8.1262/74.82
0.8800 to sixty for Thomas, shake started as the rear end of the car passed the Tree. off the gas at 100 feet.
Visible 0.2084 to 0.4787 holeshot for Micke. 0.8617 to sixty for Stig to Micke's 0.9268,a tiny bit of shake for both
but they drove through it. Micke looked to have a cylinder out and was off it by 330 feet. 2.3682 to 330 feet for Stig
and off the gas at that point. Antti's team had trouble starting the motor and were told to give it up as Anita
started to return from her burnout. 0.9292 to sixty for Anota, shake from about 100 to 300 feet and then something
came off the car - it wasn't the blower belt, it was something more solid. Anita off the throttle at that point.
Problems firing up for Jari, the motor fired and then stopped. Frantic cranking over and re-starting on Jari's side of the
track whilst Risto waited with motor running. Short burnout by Jari so as not to keep Risto waiting. 0.8840 to sixty for Jari
to Risto's 0.9393, Risto's tyres visibly shaking and then a flash of flanmf from his motor. 2.3238 to 330 feet for
Jari having driven through shake and then his tyres started to haze and then blaze, the dragster made a move to the
right and Jari shut it off.

FIA Pro Stock qualifying session 1 (left lane first)
Magnus Pettersson no time, Mats Jacobsson no time;
Michael Malmgren 7.1493/138.96, Micke Callin shut off;
Jimmy Ålund 15.6887/52.64, Thomas Lindström 6.6619/209.86;
Micke Callin 6.7215/206.95 bye;
Magnus bulbed by the Autostart. Not sure he understood what that was about as he stayed on the line despite
being told to drive down track both by Chief Starter Ian Marshall and his own crew. Sounded like a backfire
for Mats about a foot off the line and the car stopped dead. Micke shut off before staging. Great pass for
Michael to start with, storming 0.9873 to sixty, 4.3062/163.06 at the eighth, straight as you like then
shut it off and chutes out at about 1000 feet. It transpired that Micke was shut off as fluid had been found in his
lane at the top end. 1.0041 to suxty for Jimmy shaking linke no-one's business and he shut it opff. 0.9786 to sixty
for Thomas, 4.2944/164.61 at the eighth and the first half of a European speed record. Well done Thomas!
Micke returned for his run to close the session. Nice run too, 0.9907 to sixty, drive through shake between
about 60 and 100 feet, 4.3365/163.61 at the eighth and chutes out before the stripe.
Qualifying after this session:
- Thomas Lindström 6.6619/209.86
- Micke Callin 6.7215/206.95

Bruno Bader 6.1069/219.30 bye, Micke Gullqvist shut off;
Micke Gullqvist 11.1587/118.37 bye
Wild burnout by Norbert S, way out of shape. Up on two right wheels and then up on the two left wheels. Stabbed the throttle
to get it straight and then drove to the end of the track. First run for and first look at Steve Hall's new
Chevy, very pretty indeed and an early contender for Best Appearing Car and a good advertisement for Eurodragster.com sponsor
Andy Robinson Race Cars. Great screaming burnout then shut it off. Great to see Kev Slyfield back out on track after his unfortunate
incident at Easter. Asked last night if he was going to take it easy first run, he replied "Hell, no!" or words to that effect.
A lot of work on the wheelie bar height before staging, so much so that the start line crew told the team to hurry it up.
Great launch and very straight to begin with, 1.0815 to sixty. Off the throttle at 300 feet or so then back on it, 4.5235/142.16
at the eighth, the Coupe was moving around the lane some in the second eighth and Kev was off the gas before the stripe.
Next up after two customer cars, Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy himself. Marcus Hilt's tuner Camp Stanley an interested onlooker.
Shake at the hit, motor screamed, blower refief panel burst just pas the Tree - 1.0715 to sixty despite the shake. Top end
crews attended to the Camaro at the top end and then the ambulance headed down the shutdown area; I would not be surprised if
the blower pop ran Andy's bell a little. Mats rolled the beams and rolled to a hald about 200 feet out. 1.1028 to sixty for
Mattias, the tyres shook about 200 feet out and the Firebird started to move to the right. A pedal just before 330 feet,
4.4300/153.57 at the eighth and off the gas before the stripe. Mop clean-up and sledding in Mattias' lane. Nitrous burp and
dislodged scoop at the hit for Jean. Safety crews rushed to put out a small carb fire, those guys mve so quickly.
1.1625 to sixty for Wayne, motor sounded to be misfiring and a cylinder was out on the left side, 4.8876/152.19 at the eighth and
stayed on the throttle all the way. Marcus has not only his usual US tuner Camp Stanley but fellow US tuner Tripp Flowers on his team
this weekend, and he has also been joined by fellow PM racer Rolf Ammann. Graham was bulbed by the Autostart whilst spooling up the turno.
Spin at the hit for Marcus, 1.3682, a pedal and then back on the throttle. 4.7927/173.07 at the eighth and on the gas all the way. The
'Vette then made a big move to the right in the shutdown area, enough to start the top end safety crews rolling but he kept a hold of it.
1.0249 to sixty for Mats and then huge shake and screaming motor and he was off ti just past 330 feet. Robert rolled the beams as
the Tree ran which will have invalidated his incrementals, shake out to about sixty feet then hooked up. 182.83 at the eighth,
very close to the wall in the second half, chutes out before the stripe. Mats probably seeing four of everything after that run.
David's crew chivvied by the start line crew whilst adjusting the wheelie bars. Shake at the hit for David, 1.4610 to sixty,
1.0031 to sixty for Marc and then hit shake which propelled the Camaro towards the centre line. Marc was off the throttle for a long
while but still had the better eighth 4.3760/149.05 to 4.4787/181.28 even though he was trying to spell his nme on the track. The MPM
Oil duo into #1 and #2 with that pairing. Micke shut off after returning from his burnout. Bruno took the bye, 0.9791 to
sixty and into the threes at the eighth 3.9628/184.32. Chutes out and off the throttle well before the stripe so plenty more left in
the 'Vette. Micke not having staged on his previous attempt allowed to restart. Curt burnout then 0.9921 to sixty and hideous shake. Off
the throttle within moments, then briefly gave it some wellie to get down the track.
Qualifying after this session:
- Bruno Bader 6.1069/219.30
- David Vegter 6.5998/232.75

FIA Top Methanol Funny Car qualifying session 1 (left lane first)
Gareth Ellis 7.4757/222.54 bye;
Adam Flamholc 6.2432/240.31, Steph Milam 7.6896/156.88;
Jürgen Nagel 8.9276/139.39 bye;
Jonnie Lindberg 5.8984/252.24 bye;
Gareth rolled the beams as the lights ran which will have affected his ET. Huge shake from about 40 feet to 150 feet
which Gareth drove through and then pedalled briefly. 5.2143/162.48 at the eighth, very close to the guardrail in the
second half. Adam's first competitive run in FIA TMFC competition although is not untested in this class of course.
Steph's first run of the year. Adam visibly away first 0.1882 to 0.4999 and had the much better sixty 1.1376 to 1.2791.
Slight move to the right for Adam but stayed with it, looked from here as if Steph was getting off the gas
near the eighth with a big difference 4.1849/188.00 for Adam to Steph's 4.9205/150.61. Adam had his chutes out before
the stripe. Jürgen rolled the beams as he went up on the revs and went a long way before he hit the throttle so
the incrementals not at all representative. 167.29 mph at the eighth, cylinders out on both sides and off the throttle.
Fantastic run for Jonnie! 0.9409 to sixty, the car drifted to the left but he stayed with it as long as he dared,
3,8937/183.56 at the eighth and a brief pedal to get it straight and nailed it again.
Qualifying after this session:
- Jonnie Lindberg 5.8984/252.24
- Adam Flamholc 6.2432/240.31
- Gareth Ellis 7.4757/222.54

Tethys 5.9066/260.99, Paul Ingar Udtian no time
Great burnouts by both, Paul Ingar to 100 feet. First ever Autostart in FIA competition and Tet just got the jump at the lights
0.0826 to 0.0955, Paul Ingar had the better sixty foot 1.0221 to 1.2075 but then Paul's blower relief panel blew and the chutes
deployed. Paul rolled to a halt just before the quarter mile. 4.0541 at 209.95 to the eighth for Tet and a huge speed at the stripe.

Super Comp qualifying after session 1
First look at the Doignie and Lane Vauxhall, very nice piece of work. Lots of smoke from the motor in the second half,
track checked and all OK so hopefully nothing serious.

Super Pro ET qualifying after session 1
A big Happy Birthday to Laura Turburville, celebrated with a wheelie and a step to the left on launch, brief pedal and back on it.
Wild burnout for John Oomen, Viper turned hard left and crossed lanes as he got off the throttle. Then there was a rush to stop Bob Hawkins
reversing into him on the way back from his own burnout but the race officials had it covered. Totally unfazed, Bob had a go at the
Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award with a 0.008 RT. Next to take a tilt at the money was John Everitt with a 0.004.

Good morning and welcome from Santa Pod Raceway for our coverage of the FIA Main Event brought to you in association with
Alamo Rent-A-Car.
The Webster Race
Engineering / Nimbus Motorsport is on-line and will
broadcast live video and commentary / Nitro FM audio so long as the track is active. M@ikel and our buddies from
Doyousee.me will be joining us shortly and we will switch to their
two-camera set-up at some point this morning; when this occurs we will get the track announcers to give viewers a
heads-up. Should there be any significant downtime on the track then we will again show replays. If this should happen then if you
want to stay live then you can keep in touch via the Nitro FM audio-only link on the Event Index. Obviously we will switch the camera
back on in good time when the track is getting close to active again.
A big Good Morning to Ivar Kolberg who is probably the biggest fan of our Event Coverage. I hope you have plenty of supplies
lined up by your computer Ivar, it's going to be a long and spectacular day. Good morning also to our dear friend Gittli Koller who
is tuned in from Bavaria; hope all is OK with you Gittli. Last but by no means least a big Happy 9th Birthday from Mum and Dad and
Jayne and Steve to Callum Motler, son of Super Comp racers Malk and Marcie Motler. Have a great day Callum.
It's currently overcast and a bit chilly but it's dry, it's brightening up, and it's going to remain that way; people who know
about such things insist upon telling Your Reporter that the forecast is good right the way through to Monday. Today we will be going
with the published running order - available via the Event Index page - which means an 09:00 start with Pro ET. Pro sessions are scheduled
for 10:30 and 14:30. If you are within driving distance, then get in your car and get here. If you can't physically
get here then stay tuned and as soon as the first pair fire up we'll bring you all the news.
