a feather of the throttle then I think he realised he had won as he shut it off before 330 feet.
Martijn de Haas 7.2591/169.81 def. Job Heezen 7.5832/195.55
Job visibly got the jump
0.1904 to 0.5065 but Martijn quickly started to make it up, 1.2819 to sixty to Job's 1.3520 and 4.7123/168.53 at the

#1 qualifier bye for Jonnie. Fantastic pass too! 0.9413 to sixty, very brief pedal about 150 feet out.
3.6508/209.73 to the eighth. That'll likely be good for lane choice next round.
Rob Turner 6.2683/223.54 def. Johan Lindberg 6.9990/153.73
Johan away first 0.1277 to 0.2798. Shake for both cars pretty quickly, Rob to sixty in 1.0603 to Johan's 1.0889.
Johan's shake was particularly bad and he repeatedly pedalled and the car headed for the centre line.
Rob to the eighth in 4.1393/182.67 to Johan's 4.3627/185.49 and from here it looked as if Johan just crossed
the centre line - the cars were quite close together at that point as Rob's car was drifting towards the centre
too. Johan eventually off the gas although he took a long time to chuck it in.
Gareth Ellis 6.1960/236.41 def. Leif Andréasson 6.5031/238.68
The race which won Jonnie Lindberg the 2013 FIA European Top Methanol FC Championship as Leif had to win this one
to keep his Championship hopes alive. Gareth drilled Leif to the Tree

FIA Top Fuel Dragster eliminations round 1
Chris Andrews 4.6319/177.80 bye, Chris Polidano shut off
Chris P's revs went very high on the burnout. Initially I thought he realised what was happening and was straight off the
throttle but he was then shut off on returning from his burnout and it looked as if the throttle linkage to the
bug catcher may have broken. 0.9192 to sixty for Chris A,
bang and a flash of initially-green flame from the left side of the motor at about 400 feet. Off the gas by the eighth
3.4170/211.01. Safety crews chased Chris down but quickly returned on station, track checked and all OK.
Duncan Micallef 4.3135/260.15 def. Jari Halinen 6.0235/111.79
Jari just away first 0.1375 to 0.1393. 0.9008 to sixty for Jari, 0.9065 for Duncan with cylinders out on the left side.
Jari's tyres started to shake and he pedalled twice, on the second pedal the blower belt came off the car and that was
his race done. Duncan blackstriping to the eighth 3.4258/240.76 and then there was a flash of flame from his motor just
before the stripe.
Stig Neergaard 5.4110/185.81 bye, Anita Mäkelä shut off
Anita shut off on the way back from her burnout with a huge trail of fluid making her progress.
Stig took the bye, instant smoke at the hit, a long pedal then back on it. 1.1140
to sixty, 4.2426/204.03 at the eighth, off the gas before that point.
Thomas Nataas 4.2904/271.96 def. Patrik Pers 6.1718/104.46
Patrik away first 0.0912 to 0.1173 and the quicker sixty 0.8974 to 0.9004. Both cars' tyres went up in smoke at pretty
much the same time, Thomas pedalled a couple of times and then a fire started at the back of his motor but he
was still going great guns at the eighth 3.4121/243.88. Patrik's tyres were turning from about 350 feet and a fire also
started at the back of his motor about 400 feet out, at that point all we could see from here was the track obscured by
smoke and two fires disappearing into the distance. Safety crews chased down both cars, track currently being cleaned.

Good morning and welcome to our coverage of the FIA European Finals brought to you in association with
Alamo Rent-A-Car.
A change to the webcast arrangements this weekend; the webcast is still free but this weekend will be available on
Santa Pod Raceway's site at www.santapod.co.uk/webcam.php.
Clever people have already worked this out but if you have any queries or issues around the webcast then it is not us nor
our Facebook page whom you should contact. Are we all clear on that now? Good.
It's race day and another beautiful morning here at Santa Pod, I can see one small and very high cloud. The track crew are out there doing the gold
dust / sledding thing and the surface looks absolutely pristine. I really don't know where these guys get their energy. After racing finishes
each day they are out there scraping and sledding for an hour or two and they are out of bed in the morning long before anyone else to groom
the track ready for the day. Ian and team, we salute you.
The traditional Raceday Hello to our US Correspondents Ed O'Connell and Kathy Hileman who are tuned in from Rye, NH. Hope you are enjoying
the coverage guys and we really wish you were here. Good morning also to Herb Andrews who got in touch with some very kind words, appreciate
that Herb, and to Eurodragsterholics everywhere.
We start at 09:30 with the #1 qualifier presentations then stratight into Pro eliminations. In the usual manner the first Pro session starts
with Pro Mod and Super Street Bike and then ends with Pro Mod and Super Street Bike as those classes are running fields of sixteen.
Stay tuned and as soon as the first pair fires up we will bring you the news. As usual we will do our best to post after each
pair of Pros so have that Refresh button primed.
