Nostalgia Fuel Altered Association final

Joe Bond 6.9986/176.46 def. Nick Davies 8.4803/196.40

Nick away first 0.0982 to 0.2271 but then his tyres went up in smoke at the hit. 1.9065 top sixty to Joe's hooked-up 1.1813. Nick tried to drive through the tyre spin whilst Joe's altered started to fishtail but he stayed with it. 4.4946/170.92 to the eighth for Joe, Nick starting to get traction 6.1422/164.25. Joe hung on to the altered as it made ever more violent moves and took the stripe by 1.3528.

Jason Phelps no time bye

Tyres up in smoke at the hit. Shut off the motor with a pop and a bang and pulled over to the side of the track about 500 feet out.

Top Fuel Dragster match race

Risto Poutiainen 10.1600/57.13 bye

Two byes it is. 0.9148 to sixty for Risto and that was with tyres shaking, blackstripe started past the Tree and Risto got off the throttle.

Duncan Micallef shut off, bye

No reverse after the burnout so Duncan's crew pushed him back with motor running; that pretty much put paid to a full pass. Back to the start line and Duncan's crew signalled him to shut it off.

Bob Hawkins' slingshot disappeared into a cloud of smoke in the shutdown area. As the car turned off you could clearly see that the smoke was issuing from the left bank. Track checked and all OK, hopefully Bob's motor OK also. Next pair and Keith Crampton's slingshot suffered a cough in stage, the car didn't move, meanwhile Terry Clifford in the other lane broke out. Strictly this means that Keith won, however he was pushed back out of stage so did not get a Reaction Time. One for the Race Director I think!

Already mentioned on the news but a big Happy Birthday to Darryl Howells. Darryl was gifted a win as Dick Sharp did not appear.

Super Pro ET eliminations round 2

Smoke and then a flash of flame from Rod Harrison's Funny Car. Track checked and found to be OK so hopefully nothing serious. Ambulance was dispatched as a precaution but went back on station so Rob obviously OK. In the other lane Vince Gibbs went into the sixes, breakout but the crew weren't bothered and they had the win as Rod had rolled the beams. John Everitt shut off after his burnout and jumped out of the car, ambulance summoned by the start line crew. John walked to the ambulance which hopefully indicates nothing serious.

The Webster Race Engineering / Nimbus Motorsport webcam is on-line and broadcasting live video and commentary / Nitro FM audio as long as the track is open; thanks to M@ikel and the guys at Doyousee.me for streaming services and to Julian of Nitro FM for offering the use of the satellite uplink.

We must say another big Thank You to Carla Pittau and Rick McCann for hospitality again last night. It was too cold to sit in Race Control and Kirstie and Your Reporter were made very welcome in Team Heaven and Hell mobile HQ whilst we selected pictures for yesterday's gallery.

The traditional Raceday Good Morning to our US Correspondents Ed O'Connell and Kathy Hileman who are tuned in from Rye, NH. Hope you are enjoying the coverage guys and the ham / bacon plan certainly sounded like a good one. Good morning also to UK Super Pro ET racer Chris Orthodoxou who is tuned in from Kazakhstan where he is plotting his return. His plan, he tells us, is to get his Viper back out and dominate Super Pro. Hello also to Paul Fischer, a Eurodragster.com supporter pretty much since we started, who is tuned in from Croatia and to our very dear friend Gittli Koller who is watching from Bavaria. We have had a lot of positive feedback about this weekend's coverage for which many thanks.

Right now the sky is grey and it is chilly, but the main thing is that it is dry. The plan is to start at 09:00 with the second rounds of Pro ET and Super Pro ET. Some more qualifying is planned in classes with a small number of cars or bikes. Stay tuned and when the first pair appear around the corner we'll bring you all the news.
