Jason Phelps followed Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator with a demonstration pass in the Marshall Fuel Funny Car. Great 100-foot burnout. Motor went up on the revs in stage then 1.1253 to sixty, 4.1224/201.34 at the eighth, headed towards the centre line and shut it off at about 1000 feet. 6.2613/196.17 at the quarter.

Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying after session 3

Fantastic driving job by Eurodragster.com sponsor Jon Webster after the motor spat liquid under the tyres sending the Comet hard left and into Martin Smith's lane. The timing system recorded 124.56 mph at the eighth and Jon's car was sideways at that point. It looked close from here but Jon kept hold of the car and steered it back into his lane. Jeanette Webster subsequently came up to Race Control to tell us that the radiator had split but so far no obvious cause, and that Jon apologises for holding up racing.

The webcam is back on-line now, but at lower resolution and less sound quality. This is because we are having problems with the uplink. Possibly a problem with the modem although this is the same modem through which we are broadcasting the current stream. Anyway we'll worry about that later, the stream is back.

Outlaw Anglia qualifying after session 3

A fantastic match between Colin Millar and Cliff Griffin to open the session, quite possibly the best OA race I have ever seen. Improvement for Cliff but he stayed in #2. Another improvement for Jedd Guy, stayed in place.

Jacob Bailey up from #10 to #2 in the first pair. Jake Fronda next up the ladder, #4 to #2. Next pair and another improvement for Mario Thau but stayed in #8 at that point. Next pair and Paul Jordan moved up to #8. Then a short hold for oil from Danny Wharton's Beetle in the shutdown area. On the restart Richard Merriman moved up from #14 to #9.

We re-started with a demo session. Nice 0.070 RT by our Junior Dragster rookie Adam Withington in his JS dragster. Julian Webb was next up in the Split Second Jet Dragster, nice 6.7548/238.55, and the demos closed by Martin Hill with a 5.9213/268.18 in the Fireforce 3 Jet FC.

Justin Waddington up from #21 to #10 second pair. Two pairs later Paul Day moved up from #23 to #1. That lasted one pair as Lee Malyon pulled off the same feat, #23 to top spot. Steve Pugh next up the ladder, #23 to #14 next pair. That #23 spot seems to be magic as Matt Bennett-Syme then went from #23 to #3. Next up the ladder was Luke Stevenson, up from #12 to #6.

Getting ready to prep the track for qualifying now, still scheduled for a 15:30 start.

Just before lunch Jason Phelps put in a checkout pass in the Marshall-sponsored Fuel Funny Car. Relatively gentle 1.0990 to sixty, 2.7976 to 330 feet, shower of sparks on the left of the car just past 330 feet and off the gas, 7.5897/121.57 at the quarter. Martin Hill clocked 5.8605/265.02 on his first pass of the day in the Fireforce 3 Jet FC and Julian Webb 6.7307/236.11 in the Split Second Jet Dragster.

The Webster Race Engineering / Nimbus Motorsport will be on-line broadcasting live video and commentary / Nitro FM audio so long as the track is open. Thanks to our friends at Doyousee.me for the provision of streaming services.

Right now it's not quite as steamy as previous days. We have overcast and a breeze but it is very mild, perfect conditions I'd say.

The track opens for Run What You Brung at 09:30. RWYB finishes at 14:30 then the track will be prepped and qualifying will commence at 15:30. Enjoy the webcast and we will be back with all the news once qualifying commences.
