18:55 Super Street Bike qualifying session 4 Fantastic run for Ven to put #1 spot further out of reach. Next pair and Grham Dance improved big time, up from #10 to #3. Steve Mead with the quickest SSB sixty foot time I can remember seeing today, 1.2844, and up from #12 to #9. Nigel Barker up from #10 to #7 next pair then Garry Bowe moved up from #5 to #3. Broken chain and a huge trail of fluid from Danny Cockerill's bike at the hit. Doesn't look like oil from here. Clean-up in left lane and single-lane running in the right as we go into 8.50 Bike.

18:10 We're now going into a fourth qualifying cycle as far as Competition Bike, with the rest of Q4 to be completed tomorrow morning. Pro ET qualifying session 4 Nic Williams up from #24 to #8 in the fourth pair. Two pairs later and Simon Innes took over the lead from #22 spot. Another two pairs and Matt seamarks moved from #24 to #11. Rick McCann +0.0055 in this session, two in a row with 00 after the decimal place and in car he has not driven for some years. Next pair and Paul Brown moved up to #2, 0.00225 over dial-in. The top 24 are separated by 0.0691... and that, folks, is one of several reasons that I love Pro ET.

Martin Hill followed the NFAA with another stormer in the Fireforce 3 Jet FC, 5.9789/263.52. 4.0736/198.74 at the eighth. 17:40 MSA Pro Modified qualifying session 3 (left lane first) Marcus Hilt 7.1931/198.99, Kev Slyfield 9.4039/85.71; Bert Englefield 6.7535/215.03, Wayne Nicholson 7.2725/179.21; Steve Hall 9.2978/106.78, Andy Frost 6.9414/214.83; Roger Moore shut off, Graham Ellis shut off; Roger Moore 18.6602/39.83, Graham Ellis 6.4056/198.86 No Jean Dulamon in this session, MSA Championship PR Robin Jackson tells us that Jean has "problèmes electroniques". Drifting burnout by Kev and then we saw the right side of his car from here in Race Control. Similar story on the run for Kev, 1.1500 to sixty but then the Coupe started to make serious moves left and right. 4.8881/119.31 at the eighth and off the throttle by then. 1.0431 to sixty for Marcus, looked like some shake, 4.6847/146.58 at the eighth and a puff of smoke from the motor and again in the shutdown area. No chutes either but got it stopped. 1.1099 to sixty for Bert, looked to be blackstriping. 4.4333/166.02 to the eighth and up the ladder. 1.0672 to sixty for Wayne, high-frequency shake marks in his lane and the Vette swerved to the left then the right, close to the . A pedal and then Wayne was off and running, 4.7080/163.68 at the eighth. 1.1356 to sixty for Steve already with terrible shake by then, shut it off and smoke in the shutdown area. 1.1846 to sixty for Andy, looked to be driving through shake and pedalled, 4.6139/169.20 at the eighth. Brake lights on before the stripe, car moved from the right lane to the left and a very late chute. The top end safety crews went to the far end of the track, not clear from here for whom. Roger and Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham shut off after his burnout as the track was checked and the safety crews were still at the far end. Clean-up in Steve's lane between about 150 and 200 feet. On the restart 1.2532 for Roger with very bad shake and flames from the left exhaust. Looked like a stormer for Graham from the outset. 1.0817 to sixty, very straight and no obvious shake, 4.1574/180.32 to the eighth and then a pop from the motor and shut off at about 1000 feet.

Huge Super Stock-style wheelie from Nic Williams in the other lane - that was almost a last-photographer wheelie and the last photographer is about 150 feet out. Next pair and Terry Robins moved up from #22 to #9. #20 to #9 for Dan Williams next pair, equally good wheelie to his brother's. Next pair and Rick McCann took over #1 spot from #29, this is of course in Carla's car as Rick's Camaro is on the Continent awaiting its trip to Alastaro. Marcus rolled the beams before the lights ran. 1.5143 to sixty for Kev with the rear tyres spinning and smoking, got close to the guardrail, a pedal to get a hold of it. 5.3372/160.17 at the eighth. Marcus wellied it anyway, the 'Vette was moving around its lane and there was a puff of smoke from the motor at the finish line. Nice 1.0638 sixty for Wayne to Bert's 1.1178, Wayne's tyres started to shake and the 'Vette headed left to the guardrail. Meanwhile Bert looked to be on a good one but the blower belt departed the car about 300 feet out and that was his run done. Wayne back on the throttle after the pedal, 5.2721/138.54 atthe eighth, the 'Vette was skating around in the second half. 1.1452 to sixty for Andy with tyres shaking, 1.0038 to sixty for Steve driving through shake. Andy was off the throttle at about 300 feet, still got to the eighth in 4.8205/148.08. Steve's shake was pushing him towards the centre line and he had to pedal, pulled it straight and got back on it, 4.2534/148.82 at the eighth. Great match-up between Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham and Roger. Graham to sixty in 1.1006 to Roger's 1.2063 with shake, 4.1221/188.76 to the eighth for Graham, 4.4610/167.66 for Roger taking a long way round. Now, from where I was sat it looked as if Graham had backed off at about 1100 feet, certainly he put the chute out although it didn't open until after the stripe. Graham's terminal would tend to contradict what I thought I saw. Either way a stormer for Graham and #1 spot with daylight, Personal Best ET for the turbo car. Another Personal Best speed for Roger. 14:15 Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying session 2 Great driving job by Jeff Meads as his tyres started to blackstripe and the Pop made a violent move. Jeff had it up on at most two wheels and maybe one but kept it shiny side up. Next pair and a great run between Al Cook and Mark Todd, side-by-side sevens and #2 and 1 spots respectively. The Owen Developments guys have found whatever was ailing Richard Billings' Mustang as it blasted into the sevens and from here it looked as if Cooky backed it off a touch early so more to come yet. Next pair and Andy Bond had his Mustang pretty much up on the back bumper. Put it down gently and continued down the track. Ian Hook's Coupe was going great guns then made a hard move towards the centre line, in the other lane Mats Andersson saw him coming and backed off until Fatty got a hold of it. Superb run for Stu Williams to close the session, on or near a PB I think, looked from here to touch off a moment early so more left. What an excellent session that was!

12:15 Pro Modified a good time to say Hello and hugs to Paula Marshall who is tuned in. Hope you are doing OK Paula. Hello also to Camp Stanley who is doubtless tuned in, if he has managed to get out of bed, to see how his charge Marcus Hilt gets on. MSA Pro Modified qualifying session 1 (left lane first) Jean Dulamon 9.6248/162.47 bye; Wayne Nicholson 7.0380/164.28 bye; Marcus Hilt 7.5266/187.42 bye; Steve Hall 7.1099/193.03, Kev Slyfield 7.2676/192.88; Bert Englefield 7.4206/168.54, Andy Frost 6.6901/211.93; Roger Moore 6.8273/210.02, Graham Ellis 6.5818/228.96 Jean burned out left of centre of the lane and then staged off his tracks. Left the line very gently, 1.6835 to sixty, picking up the throttle down the track, I am guessing a checkout pass. 6.6234/124.55 at the eighth. Marcus couldn't get started so he was held back and Wayne took a bye. 1.0629 to sixty, heading for the centre line. 4.3522/164.28 at the eighth and then sounded like no top gear, shut off and gave it a squirt but motor sounded to be misfiring. 1.2111 to sixty for Marcus, motor hesitated at the hit. Sounded to be feathering the throttle all the way. 4.9882/148.08 at the eighth and smoke in the second half. 1.1427 to sixty for Kev, 1.1983 for Steve. Both cars moving about their lane some, Steve had the better eighth 4.6024/159.04 to Kev's 4.7308/150.11, Kev had to pedal just at the eighth as the Coupe moved towards the guardrail. Great pair of runs to start with for Bert and Andy. 1.1541 to sixty for Bert to Andy's 1.1698. Bert's Coupe was blackstriping all the way to the eighth and he had to pedal after the car made a move for the guardrail, 4.6252/142.44 at the eighth. Meanwhile Frosty was going great guns, 4.4550/176.23 at the eighth, off the throttle and on the brakes before the stripe so plenty left in the street-legal Vauxhall yet. Great match between Roger and Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham. Graham away first 0.1206 to 0.1587 and the better sixty 1.1892 to 1.2214. Clear shake marks in Graham's lane between about sixty and 250 feet but didn't look like he pedalled it. Straight run for Roger, 4.4910/167.80 to the eighth to Graham's quicker 4.4021/175.42, the Superbird was swaying left and right in the second half but Graham stayed on the gas and took #1 spot.
