Micke Gullqvist 6.1521/230.21 def. David Vegter 6.3372/227.02

David away first 0.0902 to 0.1286 but Champipon Gullan started to catch him by sixty feet 0.9776 to David's 1.0240. Smoke started to appear from the right bank of David's motor and got thick enough to obscure the car from the eighth 4.1692/177.67. Micke got to the eighth in 3.9818/230.21 and drove through a particularly bad fishtail, hanging on for the event win by 0.1467.

Martin Hill followed Fuel Funny Car with a 6.1249/256.19 in the Fireforce 3 Jet FC. 4.1919/193.72 at the eighth.

Fuel Funny Car final

John Spuffard 12.3131/72.49 def. Leif Helander 7.1000/151.63 DQ

Visible 0.1755 to 0.3574 holeshot for Leif. Instant tyre smoke for Spuff whilst Leif got to sixty in 0.9965. Spuff pedalled and gave it one more go then shut off. Leif hit shake about thirty feet out and the Starkotter FC started to move to the right, 2.7378 at 330 feet and 4.2268/144.08 at the eighth, very close indeed to the guardrail. Marshals checked the outer boundary and Leif was adjudged to have crossed the line so was disqualified. Spuff takes the event win.

FIA Top Fuel Dragster final

Anita Mäkelä 8.6176/71.25 bye, Risto Poutiainen shut off

Risto shut off before staging, tuner Rune Fjeld walked away shaking his head. Not immediately apparent from here what was wrong, certainly not a fluid leak. 0.9399 to sixty for Anita with tyres shaking violently then smoking, a single pedal and off the gas.

Jimmy Ålund 6.6977/206.11 def. Thomas Lindström 6.7176/205.33

Jimmy away first 0.0556 to 0.0716, the better sixty 0.9919 to 1.0147. Very slight shake for Jimmy passing the Tree. 4.3265/164.05 at the eighth for Thomas to Jimmy's quicker 4.3084/163.32. Jimmy got there first by 0.0359.

Manty Bugeja 5.3643/263.52 def. Chris Polidano 5.5402/264.21

Chris on his way back from his burnout before Manty came forward but Manty got back very quickly. Chris away first 0.0395 to Manty's 0.1291 but it was all Manty from then on, the better sixty 0.9219 to 1.0218, brief shake marks in Manty's lane about 100 feet out, Manty visibly ahead at the eighth 3.5273/213.45 to Chris' 3.7073/211.90. Manty first to the stripe by 0.0863.

FIA Top Methanol Funny Car final

Leif Andréasson 5.6869/250.44 def. Rob Turner 6.0108/234.08

Meteoric 0.0035 RT for Rob to Leif's 0.1021, Leif started to pull it back by sixty feet 0.9505 to 1.1358. Leif with the much better eighth 3.7430/200.21 to Rob's 3.9709/191.24. After all the work overnight 2012 Champion Leif and his crew earned this one.

-0.2292 red for Peter handed this to Ian. 1.1171 to sixty for Ian, 4.1559/188.83 to the eighth, sounded as if Ian shut off a touch early.

UEM Super Street Bike Cup final

Steve Venables 7.3452/194.71 def. Graham Balchin 8.8644/105.18

Ven away first 0.0853 to 0.1377, the better sixty 1.3000 to 1.3083. Graham was off the gas by the eighth 5.1633/131.79 to Ven's 4.8557/159.05. Ven took the stripe by 1.5716.

UEM Pro Stock Bike final

Fredrik Fredlund 7.1231/185.07 def. Ulf Ögge 7.2222/182.89

The winner of this race wins the Championship and I give you 2012 UEM European Pro Stock Bike Champion Fredrik Fredlund. Fredde had all the dice here: away first 0.0795 to Ulf's 0.1195, the better sixty by 0.0001 1.1100 to 1.1101, the better eighth 4.5248/154.47 to 4.5942/152.00 and the 2012 title. Well done Fredde!

UEM Supertwin final

Christian Jäger 6.5784/200.65 def. Trond Høiberget 13.1301/67.62

Christian away first 0.0543 to 0.0626, Trond's rear slick went up in smoke and he was off the throttle after about 100 feet. 1.1059 to sixty for Christian, 4.2792/173.40 to the eighth and we believe a new PB, well done Christian!

Micke away first 0.1715 to 0.1850 and the better sixty 0.9959 to 1.1089. Straight run for Roger to the eighth 4.3707/165.91 whiilst Micke got to the eighth in 4.0060 (no speed came up) with the Camaro moving left and right. Then a particularly violent move past the eighth, up on three wheels and close to the guardrail. Micke pedalled it but with a Championship to win he stabbed the throttle again to make sure of it. There first by 0.2383 and Micke Gullqvist is your 2012 FIA European Pro Modified Champion. Congratulations Micke!

David Vegter 6.1749/230.49 def. Bruno Bader 6.2124/225.53

Absolute classic of a race. Bruno away first 0.1146 to 0.1148 and the better sixty 1.0079 to 1.0340. Bruno also with the better eighth by a squeak 4.0449 (no speed came up) to David's 4.0476/181.98. Bruno looked to touch off just a touch early but either way David overhauled him and took it by 0.0373. New PB ET for David, well done David and the MPM Oil team!

Big holeshot for Christian 0.0608 to 0.2067 and the better sixty 1.1064 to 1.2265. Job's bike sounded to be labouring and looked to have a cylinder out from the eighth. 4.3652/168.82 to the eighth for Christian to Job's 4.7284/159.03. Christian looked to shut it off past 1000 feet, Job still on the throttle but the bike still sounded to be struggling.

Trond Høiberget 8.7918/no speed bye, Martijn de Haas no show

No sign of Martijn and no word why. Trond took the bye, tyre up in smoke and 1.5267 to sixty feet. A bang from the motor and off the throttle. No speed came up on the timing console.

Peter away first 0.1091 to 0.1610, some fishtailing towards the eighth 3.8827/202.39. Rikard to the eighth in 4.2965/205.20. Peter's left foot came off its peg at about 1000 feet and he was, probably coincidentally off the throttle at that point. 0.6351 at the stripe.

Ian King 7.6759/119.79 bye

1.1053 to sixty, the bike started to fishtail towards the eighth 4.2955/151.57, front end thumped down when Ian shut off as the bike approached the centre line.

Looked for a moment as if Krister's rear tyres were not going to light in the burnout but they struck just as the front of the car crossed the start line. Chris away first 0.0414 to 0.0903, Krister had the better sixty 0.9558 to 0.9962. The cars looked side by side going down the track, Chris with the slightly better eighth 3.6687/215.85 to 3.6705/211.52. Cylinder out for Chris after about 1000 feet but he took it by 0.1003. That's Krister's last run as he has retired from racing after nearly forty years. Like Grumpy a stellar career of which he can be proud - Krister was first into the sixes in this class many years ago - and thanks to him for all the memories.

Manty Bugeja 5.4048/262.03 bye

Nice run for these hot conditions. 0.0984 RT, 0.9556 to sixty, car pretty much straight all the way. 3.5587/213.63 at the eighth.

Great race deciding the 2013 #3 plate in Anita's favour. Antti away first 0.1294 to 0.1311 but Anita had the advantage from then on; 0.8743 to sixty to 0.8979 and a sizeable lead at the eighth 3.2099/259.26 to Antti's 3.3233/247.24. Some smoke from both cars' motors in the second half but Anita on the gas all the way and Antti off it in the traps I think. 0.1404 in it at the stripe.

Norbert up against it pulled a 0.0504 red handing it to Gullan. 1.0295 to sixty for Micke, the Camaro started to make moves left and right and I swear it was up on three wheels at the eighth 4.1346/160.13. A pedal and then another stomp on the throttle in the second half. Looking at Championship sums very carefully here, stay tuned.

Spuff got a huge visible jump on Gordon 0.2865 to 0.3716. One cylinder out on Gordon's right bank. 0.9557 to sixty for Spuff to Gordon's 1.2598 with slight shake. Very straight run for Spuff, 3.5959/230.86 at the eighth then some smoke from the motor and Spuff was off it before the stripe. 4.3041/210.99 at the eighth for Gordon, shake marks in his lane all the way to about 400 feet.

Leif away first 0.1676 to 0.2640. Jason to sixty in 1.3452 and from the car's body language I am guessing Jason's blower belt broke about 100 feet out, smoke from the pipes. 1.0174 to sixty for Leif, 3.7720/218.59 at the eighth, on the throttle all the way.

Rikard away first by a huge and visible margin 0.1825 to 0.5867, 1.1181 to sixty for Rikard to Steve's 1.1565, slight fishtailing for Steve's bike. 4.2765/172.02 at the eighth for Rikard, 4.5783/161.32 for Steve. Steve's motor just sounded to run out of grunt in the second half whilst Rikard's bike moved towards the centre line near the stripe.

Ian away first 0.3571 to 0.5870. Otto to sixty in 1.2800 and off the throttle, Ian to sixty in 1.1131. The Grand Prix Originals bike got a severe fishtail on towards the eighth, Ian off the gas and the front end thumped down, 4.1551/175.37 at the eighth, another stab of the throttle in the second half. Ian's victory makes him the 2012 UEM European Top Fuel Bike Champion, well done Ian!

Christian got a big jump 0.0851 to 0.2754 and the better sixty 1.0994 to 1.1632. Hans Olav's slick went up in smoke but he stayed with it for a while then shut it off fo ra second or two. 4.4129/167.56 to the eighth for Christian, Hans Olav got back on the gas just before the eighth but Christian had it by 0.4412.

Martijn de Haas 11.7822/72.38 def. Samu Kemppainen no time broke

Martijn in as an alternate for Chris Hannam. Samu's motor stopped at the hit. 1.3516 to sixty for Martijn with motor hesitating, then the motor threw out two big gouts of flame and Martijn got off the gas, 6.1814/91.25 at the eighth.

Chris away first 0.0161 to Grumpy's 0.0741 and to sixty feet in 1.0070. Grumpy's tyres up in smoke at the hit, a long pedal and then when the smoke cleared he was back on the gas but too late to do anything about Chris' lead. 3.6254/220.21 at the eighth for Chris and the stripe by 1.3867. That is, theoretically, Grumpy retired for good. We'll miss you Grumpy, well done on an excellent career and thanks for all the memories.

Manty wins his first race as Champion. Timo visibly away first 0.0486 to 0.1842 but then his tyres started to haze. 0.9214 to sixty for Manty to Timo's smoking 1.0128, Timo stayed on the throttle for a few hundred feet with tyres smoking but a bang and off it. 3.5298/214.46 to the eighth for Manty and the stripe by 1.7326. Clean-up in Timo's lane.

Ulf away first 0.1136 to 0.1223 and the much better sixty 0.9619 to 1.0311. Rob's FC drifted to the right but Rob kept it away from the centre line. 3.7519/200.25 to the eighth for Ulf but the Leanders Brothers FC had a bounce on at that point which got worse, smoke from under the car and Ulf shut it off. 3.8840/197.87 to the eighth for Rob and into the final by 0.2923.

Leif Andréasson 5.7185/247.71 bye, Danny Bellio broke

Danny never made it out of the burnout box, not the way Leif would have wanted to win the Championship but won it he has, Leif Andréasson your 2012 FIA European Top Methanol Funny Car Champion, well done Leif and team! Big thumbs-up also to the team for putting the car back together after yesterday's tyre explosion. 0.9578 to sixty for Leif, 3.7498/202.13 at the eighth, a bounce towards the finish line but he stayed with it.

Great pass for Thomas and that's his 2012 FIA European Pro Stock Championship won. Well done Thomas and team! 0.9947 to sixty, 4.2918/164.30 at the eighth, one of the straightest Pro Stock passes I have seen in a while.

Number one qualifier bye for Thomas. Thomas told us that although on a bye the Andersen Racing team would be going for lane choice. Going to have to go some to beat that for lane choice! 0.8669 to sixty, driving through shake, 2.2350 to 330 feet, 3.2166/260.10 at the eighth then smoke and flame from the right bank. Track checked and all OK.

Risto Poutiainen 4.0592/295.78 def. Chris Andrews 4.3787/285.53

Not a foot wrong by Risto in this one. First away 0.1112 to Chris' 0.1257, the much better sixty 0.8681 to 1.0680. Chris' tyres blackstriping all the way to 330 feet. Risto going great guns at the eighth 3.2329/252.78 to Chris' 3.5251/245.33. As Risto put his chutes out the Multilotto dragster made a hard move to the left but Risto was far enough in front of Chris for it not to be a problem. Risto in a solid Championship position, Jari having to win the next race to stay in contention.

Antti Horto 4.1020/295.05 def. Jari Halinen 4.1561/277.62

This the race which confirmed Risto's 2012 FIA European Top Fuel Dragster Championship, congratulations Risto! Jari confirmed runner-up. Jari away first 0.1515 to 0.1856, Antti had the better sixty 0.8890 to 0.9014. Antti to the eighth first 3.2784/254.88 to 3.3079/251.40 but a puff of smoke from Jari's motor at the crucial moment and he was off the throttle a touch before the stripe. 0.0200 in it at the finish line.

Anita Mäkelä 4.4730/226.24 def. Stig Neergaard 5.9535/107.53

Stig visibly away first 0.0605 to 0.1185, Anita with the better sixty 0.8781 to 0.9130. For Stig's run, see his previous runs: ball of flame at 300 feet etc. Anita pedalled just before half track 3.4030/200.21 and was off and on the throttle again in the second half. Clean-up in Stig's lane in the shutdown area.

No word on what ails Marcus. Very straight burnout tracks for Roger, absolutely parallel to the guardrail. 1.1588 to sixty with some hesitation from the motor at the hit, 4.5041/162.51 to the eighth. Looked a conservative run.

Graham Ellis 6.3672/212.78 bye, Andy Frost no show

Eurodragster.com Blogger Frosty out with engine damage so a bye for Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham. Stage light was blinking on and off as Graham went up on the revs. 1.1186 to sixty feet which is solid enough then added more power down the track. 4,2759/193.48 at the eighth then sounded like a pop from the motor at about 1100 feet and chute out before the stripe.

Long burndown before this one, Chief Starter Ian Marshall put down the Tree button, stood with arms folded, and let them get on with it. Andy into stage first and away first 0.1045 to 0.3745, Andy hit shake after sixty feet 1.1509, 1.0961 to sixty for Wayne. Andy pedalled as Wayne got a lead but then Wayne's Vette hit shake and turned left towards the guardrail and he had to pedal it. 4.3409/164.17 to the eighth for Wayne to Andy's 4.9478/157.96. Andy was gaining on Wayne towards the stripe but Wayne there first by 0.1336. Oil in Andy's lane in the shutdown area and a big cloud of dust from the far end, Andy used the whole of the shutdown area getting stopped. Clean-up in Andy's lane.

Robbed of an all-MPM Oil match-up by engine damage. Nice last-photographer burnout by David. 0.0986 RT, 1.0192 to sixty and shake from about sixty feet to about 200 feet. A puff of smoke from the right side and David shut it off.

Straight clean run for Gullan, 4.9646/185.73 to the eighth whilst Freddy driove through shake 4.1480/180.25 to the eighth. Some vapour from the underside of Freddy's pick-up past the eighth, Micke first to the stripe by 0.2861 and the Championship within reach.

Bruno Bader 6.4636/221.16 def. Kev Slyfield 7.4573/177.13

Bruno away first 0.1417 to 0.1755. Kev hit shake from the start, 1.2439 to Bruno's 1.0003. Kev pedalled it a couple of times, 4.9180/158.50 to the eighth whilst Bruno also had to pedal for shake before the eighth 4.2440/172.74. Bruno looked to shut off and have the chutes out a squeak before the stripe.

Bert-Ove Olofsson 6.0675/223.43 bye

Nice run for the #1 qualifier. 1.0073 to sixty, 3.9758/186.32 to the eighth with the Impala swaying left and right, looked to shut off a touch early. Shutdown area clean-up in Bert-Ove's lane.

The Webster Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam will be broadcasting video and audio as long as the track is open. Our good buddies from Doyousee.me, to whom thanks for streaming facilities, are running the webcam for us this weekend.

Another big Good Morning and hugs to Paula Marshall who is tuned in, we're missing you Paula and wish you were here. The traditional raceday Good Morning to our US Correspondents Ed O'Connell and Kathy Hileman who are tuned in from New Hampshire. Ed has been in regular touch throughout the weekend and tells us that he is enjoying the coverage. Good morning also to our good friend Bob Roberts who has been tuned in throughout the event and of course to the Eurodragsterholics. Get those Refresh keys ready guys.

A lot of this year's European Championships are pretty much set up and we will of course keep you up to date during the day with the help of Andy Marrs of TSI Timers Europe. Nate Gagnon is already 2012 UEM Supertwin Champion so congratulations to him. Manty Bugeja should only have to take the green in the first round to become 2012 FIA Top Methanol Dragster Champion. Now would be a good time to appreciate the efforts of and to thank Kjell Pettersson Palle Lind, Geoff Myers and Pedder Eneroth who have kept us abreast of European Championship matters this season.

The presentation of number one qualifiers is scheduled for 9:30 and then eliminations commence with FIA Pro Modified at 09:45. As ever we will try to post reports after each pair but we're sure that you'll understand that it is not physically possible in some classes. As ever we'll do our best.
