UEM Super Street Bike Cup after qualifying session 4
Pete Field in to the ladder, #14 from from #21, taking the seven-second qualifiers up to fifteen.
A couple of pairs later Nigel Barker's bike disappeared into a huge cloud of smoke right on the stripe,
Nigel eventually emerged from the gloom with bike upright and pulling off the track. We think a PB
or close to it for Thomas and Peter Granica's new bike, if so then well done guys! Ven up from #4 to
#3 next pass. Dave Holland improved still further to consolidate his #1 spot, Championship ET record
for Dutch also, well done Dave!

UEM Top Fuel Bike qualifying session 4 (left lane first)
Otto Knebl 9.4602/141.14 bye; Steve Carey 6.7790/208.15 bye; Rikard Gustafsson 6.5999/202.57, Steve Woollatt 6.5253/202.57;
Ian King 6.3233/199.87, Peter Svensson 6.1641/166.66
We won't be seeing Rene van den Berg again this weekend unfortunately, put a rod out.
Carbon copy of his previous run for Otto, off the throttle about 100 feet out then squirting it on and off all the
way down the track. Much better pass for Steve C this time, straight as you like. 1.1411 to sixty, 4.4419/168.55 at the
eighth and one place up the ladder. 1.1295 to sixty for Rikard to Steve's 1.1556, Rikard with just the quicker eighth
4.2357/175.60 to Steve's 4.2750/178.14. Straight runs for both, smoke in the shutdown area from Steve's bike then
more smoke just before he turned off the track. Track checked and all OK, hopefully the bike is OK too.
Peter staged skewiff, bike pointed at the 594 foot reflector. Peter soon straightened it out on the launch. 1.0737 to
sixty for Ian to Peter's 1.0043, the Team Starta bike started fishtailing about 100 feet out but Peter had a hold of
it, 4.1494/187.44 to the eighth for Ian to Peter's 3.7779/205.66. Having stopped the bike fishtailing Peter now had
to try to keep it off the centre line, shut it off before the stripe and I don't know how he missed the reflectors.
Peter crossed the track in front of Ian after the stripe with motor smoking. Ian moved to the right to avoid Peter and it looked as if his
motor was also smoking in the shutdown area. Kirstie at the far end of the track reported that Peter took a few shocks
from a wayward spark plug lead but that the medics were straight there, Peter OK but taken to the Medical
Centre for routine observation.
Qualifying after this session:
- Peter Svensson 5.7250/227.01
- Ian King 6.1993/219.06
- Steve Woollatt 6.3718/208.16
- Rikard Gustafsson 6.5144/208.94

UEM Supertwin qualifying session 4 (left lane first)
Martijn de Haas 7.6997/171.74 bye; Chris Hannam broke (bye); Christian Jäger 6.9918/191.41, Roman Sixta 7.5862/165.48;
Hans Olav Olstad 6.8788/214.09, Trond Høberget 7.6417/159.09; Nate Gagnon 6.6644/195.55, Samu Kemppainen 6.6170/208.02
Martijn left the line with cylinder out and the motor kept hesitating. 1.2760 to sixty feet and 5.1264/159.05 at the eighth,
spectating tomorrow. Big bang from Cannon's bike in the burnout, and what looked like large parts of casing and a pool of oil on the track.
Medics called to the start line as a precuationary after one of the TV crew copped a piece of bike motor.
1.1239 to sixty for Christian, motor hesitated as the front wheel thumped down about 300 feet out. 1.2741 to sixty for
Roman. 4.5261/153.65 at the eighth for Christian to Roman's 4,717/153.15. Improvement for Roman but stayed in place.
Hans Olav's bike left the line with the motor smoking, quickly joined by the rear slick. 1.2023 to sixty to Trond's 1.2467,
Hand Olav's bike was smoking its tyre and fishtailing violently but he stayed with it through the eighth 4.6075/171.11 and
all the way to the stripe. 4.8150/148.16 to the eighth for Trond. Great match between team-mates Nate and Samu. 1.1292 to sixty
for Nate, 1.1240 for Samu, Nate to the eighth in 4.3431/174.25 to Samu's quicker 4.3290 again with the front wheel down in the traps
I think as the speed cameup as 194.19. Samu very close to the centre line in the second half and then crossed in front of Nate after the stripe.
Improvements for both but stayed in place.

Fredrik Fredlund up here I thought to colour commentate then made a rapid exit as if he suddenly remembered he was meant to be qualifying.
Nice 0.0630 RT for Kev, 1.2805 to sixty, 5.0380/141.14 at the eighth. Len's motor screamed at the hit as if the rear slick was spinning,
1.1965 to sixty and 4.8380/144.78 at the eighth, no improvement but safely in the ladder. Ray's last chance to qualify and he finished the
run in a different lane to that in which he started so he is spectating tomorrow - 1.2021 to sixty then crossed the centre line after 330 feet.
1.1594 to sixty for Bish, 4.6961/149.99 at the eighth. Consistent run for Eurodragster, com Blogger Kalle.
1.1272 to sixty to eElvira's 1.1848, 4.6183 at the eighth to Elvira's 4.7930. Another improvement for Ulf, turning the wick up slowly.
1.1092 to sixty to Gert-Jan's 1.1452, 4.5797/154.09 at the eighth to Gert-Jan's 4.8497/148.50.

Leif Helander 5.4751/280.60, Jason Phelps 6.3004/173.04
0.9501 to sixty for Gordon, 0.9409 for Spuff, Gordon hit shake and the MPM Oil FC started to move left; he was off the gas
before 330 feet. Spuff's tyres started to shake about 100 feet out but he stayed with it as the car moved towards the
guardrail, 3.5222/227.38 at the eighth then off the throttle right on the 660 foot line. Big holeshot for Jason 0.1283 to 0.3304.
1.0128 to sixty for Leif, 1.0414 for Jason. Small amount of shake for Jason but Leif going great guns with the much better
eighth 3.7351/221.26 to 3.9540/210.44, Jason off the throttle after the eight whilst Leif's car was visibly accelerating hard
and he stayed on it to the stripe.
Qualifying after this session:
- Leif Helander 5.4751/280.60
- John Spuffard 5.7389/181.38
- Gordon Smith 5.7831/231.24

Thomas Nataas 10.9433/67.02, Jari Halinen 5.4551/125.58
0.8923 to sixty for Chris, some smoke from the motor and a cylinder briefly out on the left side. 2.2967 to 330 feet and
then yellow haze from the left bank. I guess Chris felt nothing untoward as he stayed on it, 3.3501/237.66 at the eighth. Smoke
and a bang from Chris' motor as he shut it off. I noticed earlier that Tommi gets the job of taking the toy chicken from the
fuel vent at the front of Anita's car but then hands it to another team member, probably beneath the dignity of the
co-team owner to be seen holding a stuffed toy on the start line. Either way this is the world's only Top Fuel team
with a designated chicken holder. Nice wheelie for Anita, 0.9100 to sixty to Stig's quicker 0.8737. 2.2762 to 330 for Anita to
Stig's 2.2509. Carbon copy of Stig's earlier run, smoke and then a ball of flame from Stig's motor, slowing 3.3408/206.63 at
the eighth. 3.2673/255.02 to the eighth for Anita, some smoke from her motor in the second half. Clean-up in Stig's lane.
More VIPs fleeing the balcony to go indoors as Thomas and Jari went to stage gassing out the start line. 0.9477 to
sixty for Thomas with tyres smoking, 0.8708 for Jari. Thomas off the throttle about 100 feet out. 2.3366 to 330 feet for
Jari then tyres up in smoke. Motor started to zing but off the throttle by the eighth, 3.7526/151.87.

Thomas Lindström 6.7466/206.26, Jimmy Ålund 6.6703/207.07
Conrad shut off and was pushed back after his burnout. Nice pass for Michael; 1.0316 to sixty, 4.3735/160.69 to
the eighth, straight run with not much sign of shake. Improvement but stayed in place. Micke hit shake at the hit and
got off it past the Tree with motor screaming. 1.0412 to sixty for Ulf, blackstriping but no shake, 4.4222/158.74 at the

FIA Pro Modified qualifying session 4 (left lane first)

Freddy Fagerström 9.4545/88.90, David Vegter 6.2228/233.69
MSA Championship PR Robin Jackson tells us that we have lost Eurodragster.com Blogger Andy Frost and
Marc Meihuizen for the weekend and Kev Slyfield and Norbert Kuno just for this session.
Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham got the car staged, 1.2291 to sixty and
then put his foot down. 4.4493/182.10 at the eighth and up the ladder. 1.2280 to sixty for Jean and then as he shifted his motor
started to misfire, the car ran down the centre line for good measure. 4.9549/161.33 at the eighth.
Roger's tyres didn't light in the burnout so he came back and pulled another quick burnout with Chief Starter
Ian Marshall making it quite plain that Roger was not to go past the start line so as not to keep Gullan waiting - Roger being
a sporting type of guy likely not planning to do so anyway. At the hit Micke's Camaro shook its tyres, turned hard right and he
pedalled and pulled it straight, meanwhile Roger hit shake and crossed lanes in front of Micke, taking out the 330 foot reflector
which hit Micke's car. Both shut off and idled through. 1.1262 to sixty for Wayne and 1.1201 for Andy, both hit shake simultaneously
and shut off simultaneously at about 80 feet. 1.0933 to sixty for Marcus then shake and shut off. 1.0049 to sixty for Bruno then about
100 feet of shake which he drove through. 4.0050/183.26 at the eighth, slight improvement at the stripe but stayed in #3.
1.0329 to sixty for Freddy, bad shake and a pedal, back on the gas and more shake and the passenger side door started to flap,
the pic-up made a hard move left and right and even Freddy shut it off when it got up on three wheels. 1.0254 to sixty for David,
shake marks all the way to 300 feet but David stayed with it, 4.0881/179.59 at the eighth.

smoked then they hooked up but Grumpy was long gone, 3.6775/214.83 at the eighth to Timo's 4.2872/195.10.
0.9568 to sixty for Chris, 0.9908 for Krister, Krister drove through shake and his dragster described a
long S on the track, a pretty abrupt left turn at half track but he stayed with it, 3.6937/214.45 to
Chris' 3.5984/219.01.Manty left Dennis for dead off the line 0.5744 to 1.4301. Almost identical sixties
0.9246 for Manty to Dennis' 0.9244. Manty with the quicker eighth 3.5192/214.92 to 3.5391/211.78.
Consistent passes with earlier bests, I wonder whether raceday tune-ups were on test.

UEM Top Fuel Bike qualifying session 3 (left lane first)
Otto Knebl 9.3386/139.47 bye; Rene van den Berg 7.2492/198.99, Steve Carey 7.5600/181.35;
Steve Woollatt 6.5710/212.07, Rikard Gustafsson 6.5144/208.94; Peter Svensson 5.7250/227.01, Ian King 6.1993/219.06
A time on the board for Otto. 1.1967 to sixty and then off the throttle as the bike went for the centre line.
On and off all the way down from about 200 feet. Riding job of the century by Steve Carey. 1.1602 to sixty for
Rene to Steve's 1.1302, Steve's bike started to fishtail but he stayed on the throttle. 4.8294/163.64 to the
eighth for Rene, 4.5684/134.48 for Steve with the bike fishtailing very violently and getting close to throwing
Steve off. Off the throttle at that point. Puff of smoke from Rene's motor in the second half. Great match between
Steve W and Rikard, would you believe that the Funny Bike had the better incrementals all the way. 1.1493 to
sixty for Steve and 1.1076 for Rikard, Steve to the eighth in 4,3173/175.60 to Rikard's 4.2431/175.38,
Rikard very close to the centre line at the stripe. Improvement for Rikard but stayed in fourth.
Fantastic run for Peter! 1.0177 to sixty feet, 3.7729 at a huge 207.99 at the eighth, straight down the middle
of the lane, just superb and the first half of a European ET record. Well done Peter, Sören and the guys!
PB for Ian in the other lane, well done Ian! 1.0833 to sixty and 4.1071/190.52 at the eighth.
Peter looked to use up all of the shutdown area but he got it stopped.

Samu Kemppainen 6.6625/211.07, Chris Hannam 7.1848/156.86
1.2640 to sixty for Martijn then the motor hesitated and spluttered. A couple of pops and bangs and then Martijn eased
back on the throttle - check out that terminal speed for a ten-second pass. Hans Olav's motor stopped after the burnout,
Hans Olav sat there and shrugged his shoulders. Job took the bye, 1.1352 to sixty, thebike aiming for the centre
line and fishtailing as Job leaned over to straighten it out. 4.3116/179.17 at the eighth, then a puff of smoke from the motor
followed by a loud bang and more smoke and a whining noise as the motor slowed down in the shutdown area.
1.1753 to sixty for Trond, 1.1318 for Nate, Nate had the better 330 2,9634 to 3.0670 but his motor started to go away before the
eighth, 4.8263/120.24 to Trond's 4,5717/164.74. Nate's motor pretty much expired after the eighth.
1.3343 to sixty for Roman, 1.1316 for Christian. Both bikes straight down the middle of their lanes. 4.4325/166.70 to
the eighth for Christian who sounded to shut off a touch early. 5,3952/130.54 for Roman, motor sounded to be struggling.
1.1392 to sixty for Samu and 1.1364 for Cannon, 4.3871 to the eighth and I am guessing front wheel down in the traps for Samu
as Supertins don't do 195.29 at the eighth. 4.4514/161.27 at the eighth for Cannon and on it all the way, great pass, an
improvement but stayed in place.

John Spuffard 7.8456/102.66, Gordon Smith 5.7831/231.24
1.1896 to sixty for Jason, 1.0133 for Leif. Jason hit shake about 200 feet out and was pedalling at the eighth
4.3058/162.33 and then off it. 3.7629/217.55 to the eighth for Leif, a puff of smoke from his motor as he shut off.
A number of the VIPs on the bankside balcony chickened out and ran indoors as Spuff and Gordon went to stage, there
was a lot of gas in the air. 0.9508 to sixty for Spuff, 0.9839 for Gordon, shake for Spuff and a pedal then off it,
4.0237/138.05 at the eighth. 3.9185/211.73 at the eighth for Gordon, a brief pedal around that time and was closer
and closer to the guardrail in the second half - there was a fag paper in it at the stripe and Gordon wrenched the
car away quite abruptly.
Qualifying after this session:

FIA Top Fuel Dragster qualifying session 3 (left lane first)
Thomas Nataas 4.0180/301.95 bye; Antti Horto 4.0860/296.81, Risto Poutiainen 5.5907/110.33;
Stig Neergaard 4.7366/162.47, Chris Andrews 4.3882/226.25; Jari Halinen 5.5760/121.08, Anita Mäkelä 6.1412/100.96
Fantastic run for Thomas to take over #1 spot. 0.8657 to sixty, 2.2237 to 330 feet, straight to the eighth
3.2103 at a big 260.31, slight move to the left just after the eighth but stayed with it and went over 300 mph.
The Andersens are back! The dragster had to be towed from the top end, clutch locked I guess. Antti on awesome form,
within 0.0001 of his previous best. 0.8930 to sixty to Risto's 0.8980, 2.2761 to 330 feet for Antti to Risto's 2.3826.
Risto's tyres went up in smoke and his motor zinged just past 330 feet and he was off it by the eighth 3.9666/133.88
to Antti's 3.2663 at a big 259.29. 0.8780 to sixty for Stig and then looked like a cylinder out on the right side, 0.9138
to sixty for Chris. Stig had the better 330 at 2.2740 to Chris' 2.3637 but then there was a ball of flame from Stig's
motor, slowing down through the eighth 3.4098/194.53 to Chris' 3.4207/238.15, Chris had looked to shut off right on
the eighth. Stig's fire continued down the shutdown area and the safety crews were moving before he stopped.
Hold for clean-up in Stig's lane in the shutdown area. 0.8883 to sixty for Jari to Anita's 0.9248, both hit
shake about 100 feet out then both cars' tyres went up in smoke at 200 feet. Both off the throttle and when we saw Anita's
car through the smoke it was pointing at Jari's lane at about a 45-degree angle. Anita kept a hold on it and
got it straight.

Danny Bellio 5.9594/206.26, Ulf Leanders 5.6498/256.10
Fantastic run for Leif to start with at least. 0.9723 to sixty, very slight shake whiuch Leif drove through,
3.7441/203.10 at the eighth. At about 1100 feet there was a bang and the bonnet panel plus various other bits and
pieces blew off the car. Leif turned off the track and the safety crews were straight there, all OK. Pit Reporter
Simon is at the top end and reports that Leif's right rear tyre blew with deleterious effects to the bodywork.
Leif however up from #4 to #2. Track checked then into the next pair, but Danny and Ulf were shut off before staging after a call
from the far end of the track.

Great run to start with for Norbert. 1.0061 to sixty, driving through shake from 100 to 200 feet, 4.0878/175.54
at the eighth then the car disappeared into a huge cloud of smoke. No bang though. Track checked and all OK so hopefully nothing
untoward. Big improvement for Norbert and up to #5 at that point. Brief and shaky burnout for Micke G then he shut off on the way
back from the burnout. Micke's crew rushed to help and for a moment it looked as if Micke was going to restart but then the
crew shook their heads and pushed Micke back. Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham sat in pre-stage building up the revs, then
left without staging. Gentle launch then added power as he went down the track.
1.0656 to sixty for Wayne, the car was moving for the centre line but he stayed with it. The Vette started to sway left and
right and got into a pendulum effect, from here it looked as if it was up on three wheels right by the centre line at the eighth
4.3390/165.45. Wayne was off the gas just after the eighth. Camp Stanley will like what he sees next! Andy hit shake, 1.4798 to
sixty, pedalled and eventually shut it off. 1.0980 at sixty for Marcus, pedalled it right on the eighth 4.3367/162.80, then back

out before the stripe. Micke G fixed and back for a bye. Shake and smoke a few feet out, 1.0615 to sixty, pedalling and
back on the gas driving through the shake as the Camaro turned left and right. 4.8133/160.23 at the eighth then off

Great match-up to start the session. 0.9793 to sixty for Krister to Manty's 0.9297 with tyres flapping but you know Manty, he just drove
through the shake. Krister down to the eighth 3.6328/218.99 to Manty's 3.5151/216.51, excellent clean run for Krister with all pipes lit to move
him up the ladder and a consistent pass for Manty. 0.9168 to sixty for Timo to Grumpy's 1.0337, Timo's blower panel blew before the eighth
3.7997/155.56 whilst Grumpy was right alongside him 3.8011/211.52 at the eighth. Grumpy's chutes out on the stripe. Gumpy's run looked quicker

sixty in 0.9300 driving through very apparent shake. 0.9771 to sixty for Chris. 3.7131/203.31 to the eighth for Dennis and then his blower

Pro ET eliminations round 1
Carla Pittau and Rick McCann and the Heaven and Hell team asked us to thank the
whole drag racing community for the overwhelming offers of help", they say. "Dave Cherrett came up with the tubes in the
right size, Harrison Brown of the Ramraider team came up with a bead breaker, Mike Lacey and team helped fit them, so we can now race today. Thanks also to Tim
Stanbury for the loan of a rocker stud, and to Eurodragster.com, the commentators, and Nitro FM for spreading the message."
