FIA Top Fuel Dragster qualifying session 2 (left lane first)
Thomas Nataas 5.9383/104.32 bye; Chris Andrews 4.1273/280.48 bye;
Anita Mäkelä 4.0259/287.52, Jari Halinen 4.2204/263.08;
Risto Poutiainen 4.1842/275.54, Stig Neergaard 4.8233/157.41
Carbon copy of his Q1 run for Thomas, 0.8676 to sixty driving though shake then the tyres lit up about 250
feet out and Thomas got off the gas. Superb run for Chris! 0.8820 to sixty, slight haze from the tyres, 3.2831/252.20
at the eighth, the car swaying left and right but Chris stayed on the gas all the way. Chris up one place.
Maybe an optical illusion but from here it looked as if both sides of Chris' header flames were curling around the tops of the
slicks. Anita up to #1 with a fantastic pass. 0.8798 to sixty, 2.2300 to 330 feet, 3.2022/257.93 at the eighth.
Nice pass for Jari too, 0.8911 to sixty, 2.3061 to 330 feet, 3.3413/244.58 at the eighth. Some smoke from
Jari's motor, shut off a touch early by the look of things. Some consternation around Stig's motor after it fired,
seemed to be centred around the idle, at one poiont . Risto was on his way back from his burnout before Stig pulled forward
but Stig only pulled a short burnout so as not to keep Risto waiting. Risto left pretty much as Ian pushed the
button, -0.3398 red but not too soon to get an ET. 0.8862 to sixty for Risto, 0.9570 for Stig, smoke from Stig's motor
most of the way. 3.3116/242.90 to the eighth for Risto and a shut-off 3.5145/204.33 for Stig.

Thomas Lindström 6.6869/204.40,
Jimmy Ålund 6.6869/207.06
Instant shake for Micke, motor zinging, off the throttle, meanwhile Conrad Stanley towed back to the pits but he has another
two sessions and the car didn't even have a motor in yesterday. Awful shake for Michael with motor screaming, got off it about 70
feet out. Ulf drove through shake and stayed with it, 4.5181/155.65 at the eighth. Fantastic match-up for Thomas and Jimmy,
the quickest side-by-side in European Pro Stock history and Jimmy there first by a 0.0968 to 0.1265 RT advantage.

400-foot burnout by Freddy and then surely a new backing-up speed record. 1.0429 to sixty, a barely perceptible pedal for
shake and close to the guardrail... did he get off the pedal? Did he bog roll. 4.1217/182.07 at the eighth and chutes out in the traps.
1.1513 to sixty for Micke with tyres smoking and motor screaming, 1.0204 to sixty for Marc. Marc hit bad shake about 80 feet out and
shut it off, stopped just past the finish line. Micke gave it a stab, long pause, and then got back on the gas in the second half.
Not much tyre smoke for Wayne in the burnout. 1.0877 to sixty for Wyane then shake, Roger's Viper hesitated off
the line and got to sixty in 1.1911. Wayne had to pedal for shake and his Vette wanted to go right most of the way,
4.9463/138.54 at the eighth. 4.5662/163.68 to the eighth for Roger, a few moves left and right but Roger stayed with it.
Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham left as soon as his stage light went on, gently launch then again wound it up all
the way down. Relatively gentle sixties for Marcus and Jean, 1.3176 and 1.2195 respectively. Marcus stepped off the throttle
for a moment at the eighth 4.8613/144.29 but was back on it in the second half. 4.9070/149.11 to the eighth for Jean.
Instant shake for both Kev and Andy, Andy had to back off as the Coupe turned hard right. Kev got back on it,
4.9046/155.22 at the eighth. 1.0978 t sixty for Frosty, 1.0213 for Bruno. 4.0125/185.42 at the eighth for Bruno,

0.0776 RT for Leif but instant tyre shake and off the throttle by 300 feet. 0.9916 to sixty for Danny, driving through shake

Super Comp qualifying after session 8
Final session for this class also but an all-run field so everyone is in. Eric Pellegrom up from #17 to #13 in mid session.
Yet another 8.90-second pass for Eurodragster.com sponsor Paul Whitehead, an improvement but stayed #2 at that
point. I said "At that point" not knowing that Malcolm Motler would take #2 in the next pair! 0.0004 between the top two
qualifiers, a new PB for Malcolm, well done Malc!

Super Pro ET qualifying after session 8
The last qualifying session here also. Dave Catton up from #14 to #2 in the third pair.
Potentially Pat Talbot's last run before retirement as she went into this session as
a DNQ. Crew and good buddy Sharkman told us that a problem with the fuel system was suspected and that the Talbot Racing team
were going for broke this session. Good run for Pat, 7.732 on a 7.60 dial-in, but only good for #36. We'll miss you Pat and Stephen.
In the other lane Sascha Pretsch made a big move and put himself into the ladder, #35 to #16. Next pair and Steve Johnson took
over the lead from #15 spot, +0.001 on dial-in and a fag paper from the Eurodragster.com/Gold
RV Perfect ET Award. Next into the ladder from outside was John Gerritsen, up from #39 to #21.
0.004 RT for Scott Hauser followed by a more-than-Perfect ET, 7.6800 on a 7.68 dial-in, #1 spot and subject to decal check Scott takes the
Eurodragster.com/Gold RV Perfect ET Award, well done Scott!
Next pair and a 7.537 for Jayne Kay, breakout but I am thinking a new PB, if so then well done Jayne!
Nice 0.009 RT for Steve Saunders in the follwing pair. Russ Fellows into the ladder next pair, #36 to #26. In the other lane Paula
Atkin broke out but set new PBs at 6.8404/205.14, well done Paula! 0.0481 to get into the ladder for tomorrow, that's quite something.

Peter Svensson 6.1143/193.88, Ian King 6.2625/208.00; Otto Knebl broke
Good to see Steve back out on the track. Tyre up in smoke at the hit but stayed on the throttle, pretty much an eighth-mile burnout before
the tyre finally stuck. Rene didn't stop after his burnout, idled the bike up to the shutdown area but stopped short of the first exit.
Otto was shut off as Rene had to be retrieved.
1.1061 to sixty for Steve, 1.1232 for Rikared, Steve got to the eighth in 4.1491/182.04 to Rikard's 4.2704/173.52,
Rikard got close to the centre line in the second eighth and was off the throttle early. Very clean straight run for Steve, though,
on the gas all the way.
1.0492 to sixty for Peter, 1.0933 for Ian. Storming eighth for Peter 3,9540/198.74 to Ian's 4,1335/190.52, sounded from here as if Ian's
motor was misfiring in the second half. Peter close to the centre line in the second eighth and shut it off at about 1000 feet.
Otto back for his re-run, a bang and his motor stopped as he approached stage.

Great to see the Andersens back where they belong, with Thomas in the seat. 0.8836 to sixty, 2.2665 to 330 feet with the rear
tyres up in smoke by that point, off the throttle. 0.0977 RT for Chris who had the better sixty 0.9050 to Stig's 0.9290. Both cars
blackstriping their lanes in a good way, no shake or smoke. Chris had the advantage at the eighth 3.3681/243.44 to Stig's 3.4369/233.88.
Smoke from Stig's motor after the eighth and he shut it off a touch early, track checked and all OK. Chris looked to stay on it all
the way to the thousand. Tremendous match between Antti and Anita, both taking up where they left off at Tierp.
0.8909 to sixty for Antti, 0.9329 for Anita. Slight shake marks in Anita's lane, 2.3111 to 330 feet to Antti's 2.2760.

1.1181 to sixty for Kev then shake, a couple of pedals and a move to the right before the eighth 4.9097/155.79 and on the gas
all the way to the stripe. Jean's motor sounded to be struggling a little. 1.6256 to sixty feet and on and off the throttle all
the way, I am wondering whether that was a non-nitrous pass. 1.1333 to sixty for Eurodragster.com Blogger Frosty, 4.4569/167.96
to the eighth, clean straight pass with no dramas. Unburnt fuel from Norbert's motor as he staged and left but he had the better

implies fluid leak, so David took the bye. 0.9932 and that was with shake marks for thirty or forty feet, 3.9952/182.72 at the eighth
but smoke from the motor in the second eighth and down the shutdown area. Instant tyre smoke for Micke G, shut it off and stabbed the

Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying after session 7
Another fantastic run for Richard Billings, the ET and speed of this pass backed up by his earlier performances
for new records. Great run also for Brian Payne in the other lane - I am thinking the quickest-ever
side-by-side run in Street Eliminator. Next pair and Eurodragster.com sponsor Jon Webster improved still further whilst
in the other lane Jeff Meads' Pop took a hard left about 550 feet out, how Jeff held onto it I'll never know but
a great driving job kept him out of further trouble. Next run and Colin Lazenby on an Auto Glym lane bye was next into
the sevens, at that point we had seven cars in the sevens.

Pro ET qualifying after session 7
Breakout for Rich Eacock, 11.261 on an 11.40 dial-in, but another new PB! Sarah Howells up from #27 to #9 in the second pair.
Next pair and Gino Bernadine pulled a 0.000 RT, subject to a decal check Gino has taken the
Eurodragster.com/ModUrStang Perfect Light Award, well done Gino!
Great to see Dan Williams back on track, hard work rewarded after yesterday's huge wheelie; breakout on today's first run which
more than served the purpose of confirming that all was OK. Quick check of the track in Dan's lane but all clear. Paul Brown up to
#4 from #11 in mid-session. Next up the ladder was Rick McCann up from #23 to #14. More hard work rewarded for Dave Cherrett
who as you may have seen in yesterday's gallery lost his front left wheel yesterday. The necessary welding having been
done and the car scrutineered Dave re-started qualifying and took an easy checkout pass for #34 spot. 0.002 RT for Steve Hudson in the
last pair.

Good morning and welcome from Santa Pod Raceway for our coverage of the FIA European Finals brought to you in association with
Alamo Rent-A-Car.
The Webster Race
Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam
will be broadcasting video and audio as long as the track is open. Our good buddies from
Doyousee.me, to whom thanks for streaming facilities, are
running the webcam for us this weekend which means a second camera and maybe a surprise or two. After yesterday's
travails we should be OK for network access today - put it this way, it was tested last night and worked OK - and
Maikel is planning an increase in picture and sound quality for today. Maybe there will be a corresponding decrease in
graceless bitching, we can only hope.
A big Good Morning and hugs to our good friend Gittli Koller who is tuned in from Bavaria, we really wish you were here
Gittli. Hello also to our good friend and Event Coverage fan Ivar Kolberg in Norway, to all of the Eurodragsterholics which
includes Camp Stanley, and to everyone who is stuck on their day job today - we will do what we can to make things better.
Finally a big Hello to Pro Stock racer Mats
Jacobsson who is sat at home with 'flu which has robbed him of the chance to consolidate his fourth place in the
FIA European Championship. Get well soon Mats.
We are due to commence at 09:00 with cycle 7 of Sportsman qualifying; Pro sessions are due at 10:30 and 14:45 with another
cycle of Sportsman qualifying in between. Stay tuned and as soon as the first pair fires up we will start to bring you the news.
