Nostalgia Fuel Altered Association session 4

Gary Page 6.5921/222.55 bye

Another great run for Gary. 0.0393 RT, relatively gentle 1.2838 to sixty, 4.3993/179.20 at the eighth with the car swaying left and right but Gary stayed on the hard pedal all the way.

Top Fuel Dragster licencing pass

Laurie Bamford 4.9849/308.46 bye

This run scheduled for a full pass; of course an interesting point is whether a full pass constitutes 1000 feet or a quarter mile now. And a quarter mile it was, fantastic pass! 0.8930 to sixty, 3.4106/247.42 at the eighth, the car was moving left and right all the way down but Laurie stayed with it, 4.2603/286.09 at 1000 feet. Well done Laurie, licence gained I'd say!

Ian King 7.7830/140.32 def. Kev Charman 7.8774/199.67

Ian just away first 0.2208 to 0.2246, Kev's tyre up in smoke at the hit. 1.0992 to sixty for Ian to Kev's 1.3950. 4.6838/133.22 to the eighth for Ian but the bike was heading for the left guardrail and from here it sounded as if he was feathering the throttle as he leaned to the right to get it away. A feather from Kev to get traction and then back on it, 5.4646 at the eighth at a much bigger 182.08 but Ian was there first by 0.1222.

Huge holeshot for Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham 0.0470 to 0.2111. 1.0960 to sixty feet then shake, 1.3474 to sixty for Wayne and then appeared to lose drive, smoke from the motor and shut off. Long pedal for Graham, 4.4405/159.47 to the eighth, chutes out just past half track, wouldn't be surprised if they shook out. Clean-up in Wayne's lane.

Car rolled the beams for a couple of yards before Lindsay hit it. 4.0413/194.50 at the eighth, bang and flash of flame at about 1100 feet, and a whining noise as the motor slowed down. Maybe the blower burst plate? A report from the top end that there is oil on the back of the car so the track is being checked. Car stranded a the top end also so the top end crews are on the case of removing it.

Very out of shape burnout by Andy, sideswiping the guardrail about 150 feet out. Andy calmly put it in reverse and started back but was signalled to shut off. Wayne took a gentle bye.

Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham leading the Championship. Graham away first 0.1742 to 0.1865, cylinder out on the left side all the way down. 1.1929 to sixty for Graham, 1.3302 for Jean, Graham with a big advantage by the eighth 4.6322/156.78 to 5.2205/145.71. Jean's Camaro looked to put on a spurt in the middle third bu not enough. Not pretty but a round win and one step closer to the title.

Nick Davies 7.3848/221.10 def. Steve Hall 8.3799/192.13 DQ

-0.2069 red for Steve in his first competitive round handed it to Nick. 1.1021 to sixty for Nick, big shake twenty feet out and had to pedal as the Superbird made a move to the right, back on the pedal and the car moved left and right again but Nick stayed with it.

Roger Moore 6.9605/187.31 def. Mick Payne 7.2290/185.13

Roger second in the Championship and had to win this round to stay in it. Nice wheels-up launches for both Mick and Roger, Mick had the better sixty 1.0492 to 1.1042, Roger with the advantage by the eighth 4.4822/158.83 to Mick's 4.6259/152.06. Smoke from both Mick's and Roger's cars, Roger shut off before the stripe but took it by 0.3243. Personal Best for Mick, well done Mick! Oil in Mick's lane in the shutdown area.

If Graham wins the next round then he is Champion, is not then Roger has to win the event to take the title.

Brian Pateman already Champion, congratulations again. Drama in the last run as Eurodragster.com sponsor Paul Marston's dragster turned hard left just past the finish line, flipped over and slid across to the left guardrail. Small fire as the car hit the guardrail. The top end safety crews started moving the moment Paul's car turned left, very rapid response. Brief squirt of the engine compartment with a fire extinguisher; Paul got himself out of the car and is A-OK, in fact so A-OK that he will be back out in Pro ET later on.
