You can check out today's illustrated pit notes via the Event Index page. We're now going to work on today's gallery so tune back in a short while. We're pleased to announce with regard to Dave Evans' wheelie that Ed is not fired. 18:21 Qualifying is now done for the day. We're now going to put the photographs into Ed's pit notes as promised and then work on today's gallery. Stay tuned for an update about those. We will leave the webcam running for a while but it will be switched off eventually and most likely without warning; you can stay with the Nitro FM audio-only stream via our Event Index page. Big puff of smoke from Dave Smith's bike right on the stripe but the track was checked and found to be OK. Another improvement for Nigel Barker good for one spot, 1.281 sixty foot time presaged that. Next pair and Danny Cockerill went into the sevens and up from #14 to #12.

Trackside conditions at the start of Super Pro ET were 21.8 C, 32% humidity and 29.71 inches' air pressure. 17:15 Martin Hill followed Super Street Bike with a thundering 5.860/271.51 in the Fireforce 3 Jet Funny Car. Great run and approaching his best-ever ET. Ed has posted another set of pit notes which you can check out via the Event Index. Pro ET qualifying after session 5 Rick McCann and Carla Pittau went side-by-side with Super Stock wheelies from #19 to #13 and from #9 to #4 respectively. If I recall correctly every run which Paul Marston has made in Pro ET today has been a 9.0 on a 9.0 dial-in, that's consistency for you but his best still only good for #5 spot. #1 qualifier Billy Gane was carrying the Eurodragster.com/Gold RV Perfect ET Award decals so he is £75 better off, well done Billy!

16:55 Super Street Bike qualifying after session 4 Huge step up by Ven, up from #6 to #1; 1.239 sixty foot told us that one was coming - that may well be the quickest SSB sixty foot time ever recorded in Europe beating out Graham Dance's 1.242 recorded at Easter; I'm sure our good buddy and timing guru Andy Marrs will be able to confirm from his records. Well done Ven! Great run from Chris Reed in the last but run but three of the session, up into #2 spot. Pete Field up from #10 to #7 next run. Improvement from Nigel Barker and up to #8 to close out the session.

Perfect run by Billy Gane to take over #1 spot, well done Billy! A reward for all the team's hard work in the last couple of weeks and another one of Ed's pit note subjects strikes gold. The top 26 qualifiers separated by 0.099 seconds, how about that?

15:35 Super Street Bike qualifying after session 3 Thomas Granica up from #14 to #9 in the first pair. 1.305 sixty foot time for Nigel Barker and then rode out a couple of wheelies, very well controlled and stayed with it. Fantastic run for Niclas Sverin, up from #14 to #8 and maybe a PB, well done Niclas! Next pair and Wayne Saunders went into #1 spot and then parted company with the bike in the shutdown area. Wayne was reported as being conscious, alert and talking but was of course taken to the Medical Centre to be checked out. Pete Field first to run on the re-start, shut off early but still into the sevens and moved up from #18 to #10. Good to see Ian Cotton back after his off at the Thunderball, gentle checkout pass and into #19 to open his account.

Nice straight run for Ian Hook, slowly turning up the power and the '34 Ford is going straighter than straight. Jeff Meads carried a great controlled wheelie out to about 100 feet and stayed with the Pop as it made a hard left on landing.

Track checked and given a quick sled. Richard Hann and Nigel Barker went side-by-side up the ladder, #17 to #11 and #12 to #5 respectively. Big move for Wayne Saunders, #10 to #3 in the last pair of the session, we could see that coming as Wayne ran today's quickest sixty foot so far of 1.306.

There are pictures to go with the notes but we have only one web coder on the team and he is doing the live race report so we will post the pit note pictures later on today. 11:55 Super Pro ET qualifying after session 2 Roy Wilding in at #4 with his first pass of the day. Next pair and Dave Ward in at #3 with his first pass of the day. Two pairs later Bob Hawkins moved from #10 to #3. Next pair in stage and we had to go on hold for rain at the top end. On the restart Barry Giles moved from #19 to #11. First run of the day for John Everitt, into #9. Then another hold for sprinkles of rain but it was two minutes tops, followed by a brief break to rescue Paula Atkin's Mustang after it stopped on the track. Next up Andy Frost in the Red Victor 3 street-legal Pro Mod although on slicks today, licencing not being allowed at FIA events Andy had to change classes to be able to run. 6.77 dial-in, tyres screeching and off the throttle at about 400 feet then stopped on the shutdown area. Next up was Martyn Jones in the rebuilt Small Fortune dragster (aka the Top Methanol Dragster which isn't). Nice burnout then a superb wheels-up launch and off it at sixty feet. Nice run.

Ed has some experience of pit notes, having sent us word from NHRA races in the past, but working under the high-pressure conditions of our live Event Coverage is going to be new to him. He is well up for it though. Courtesy of one of our moles in the Pro ET pits we understand that Ian Turnbull should be working but that once he puts on the webcam nothing gets done.
