Tony was shut off for a fluid leak so Paul took the bye. Superb run from Paul as you'd expect, 0.9703 to sixty feet, 4.1568/169.74 to the eighth.

Gordon Smith 5.3510/250.99 def. John Spuffard 5.5231/296.31

Spuff out of the hole first 0.1625 to 0.1975, much better sixty foot time 0.9260 to 0.9692, but then he hit shake and shut off. Gordon pedalled about 200 feet out and simultaneous with that Spuff got back on it and they looked to be side-by-side from here. 3.6208/233.76 to the eighth for Gordon and 3.8546/219.66 for Spuff, and Gordon first by 0.1371.

Same problem as before for Andy Robinson and he didn't make the call. 1.0067 to sixty feet for Johan, 3.9794/188.60 to the eighth and the Lindberg brothers into first place in the FIA European Championship.

Huge holeshot for Dennis 0.0064 to 0.1680, Timo had all the better incrementals, 0.8875 to sixty feet to Dennis' 0.9281, 3.5002/208.87 at the eighth to Dennis' 3.5912/209.49 but it wasn't enough to overhaul Dennis who took the stripe by 0.0567.

Jürgen Nagel 6.2853/227.77 bye, Dan Larsen no show

Jürgen took the event win without racing anyone all day. Dan had too much damage after the blower pop earlier to make the call so Jürgen took the bye. 1.2481 to sixty feet and 4.2195/191.93 at the eighth.

Huge holeshot for Urs 0.06733 to 0.1530, 0.8995 to sixty feet to Risto's 0.9055, Risto hit shake and he was on and off the throttle and then off it by the eighth, 3.52593/260.05 to the eighth for Urs and that 314.87 is a new European speed record for Eurodragster.com sponsor Urs, well done Urs!

Trackside conditions are 15.7 C, 70% humidity and 29.80 inches of air.

Kai away first 0.1305 to 0.1388 but Steve got to sixty feet quicker 1.1049 to 1.1089, and the much quicker eighth 4.3207/169.51 to 4.5212/165.95, the win for Steve by 0.1959.

UEM Funny Bike Cup final

Christian Jäger 7.3141/188.21 def. Steve French 10.7914/72.76

Steve got the jump 0.1028 to 0.1065 but his bike started to try to throw him off. 1.1103 to sixty for Christian to Steve's 1.1103, Steve was off the throttle by half track. Christian got to the eighth in 4.7080/150.52 and took his second event win of two.

Next up was Martin Hill in the Fireforce 3 Jet FC with a great 5.9678/269.76. Eric Teboul followed with his Rocket Bike, a tremendous 5.2321/249.02 and a new world best ET for a bike. Well done Eric! 3.4520/230.05 at the eighth.

Mats handed this one to Johan with a -0.2924 red light. 1.0040 to sixty feet for Johan, tyres visibly shaking but the car went straight down the middle of its lane, 3.9425/187.97 at the eighth. Mats was out of the contest anyway but hit shake at about 200 feet and shut off.

Visible holeshot for Andy, 0.0746 to 0.0982, had the much better sixty foot time 0.9942 to 1.0035, no visible shake for Andy whilst Adam's Camaro started to move around its lane. 3.9418/186.20 to the eighth for Andy to Adam's 4.2055/171.59, smoke and a trail of fluid from Andy's Stude from about 1000 feet.

Steve backed up his earlier 7.198 for a new UEM Funny Bike Cup ET record, well done Steve!

Zodiac v Zodiac in this one. Job away first 0.1108 to 0.1660, Roel had the better sixty foot 1.1511 to 1.1886, then smoke and a bang and a belt came off Roel's bike and that was that. 4.5258/165.80 at the eighth for Job but then the motor faltered and he shut it off at about 1000 feet.

Derek's tyres didn't light in the burnout. Kirstie, whose day job is crew on John Everitt's Alien altered, tells us that John got a bird in the face in the shutdown area well and truly ringing his bell. John was attended to by the paramedics and is OK. I would imagine that the bird has the mother of all headaches.

Sounded like Urs' burst panel blew at the top end, and that shut off the motor and deployed the chutes.

Gordon got to sixty feet in 1.1438, hit shake, looked to drop something on the track at about 250 feet and was on and off the throttle a couple of times before shutting off at the eighth.

Timo took the stripe by 0.4102.

Paul Ingar got the jump 0.1077 to 0.1453 and had the better sixty foot time 0.9428 to 0.9652 but then Eurodragster.com sponsor Derek drove through shake and got past him, 3.5805 at a huge 220.83 at the eighth to Paul's 3.7001/198.82, Derek took the stripe by 0.2898 but then his 'chutes did not deploy and the Gold RV car went into the field at the end of the track. Derek is quite OK, the car is shiny side up, and he is on a new European speed record if he can back it up, well done Derek!

Fire could plainly be seen under the car but the roof panel popped and Dan got himself out, and he is A-OK.

Jari also off it by half track, 3.4640/208.94 then it was a race of momentum to the stripe, Micke there first by 0.2271.

Big pedalfest this one. Anita away first 0.1084 to 0.1257, Stig had the better sixty foot time 0.8857 to 0.8986. Both hit shake and Anita shut off at about 330 feet. Stig kept stabbing away at it then shut off, Anita realised she might be able to catch up and got back on it, the dragster left a trail of fluid on the track and then one pedal later there was a bang and a fireball from Anita's motor, but she still got there first by 0.0814.

The Webster Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam is on-line and will be posting a picture every sixty seconds until the track closes on Monday.

Right now it's overcast here at Santa Pod, trackside conditions are 10.5 C, 92% humidity and 29.71 inches of air. Yesterday's stiff breeze has abated. Once the sun gets up a bit further and burns off this cloud we'll be all set.

A Parish Notice to all you Facebookers out there: please stop copying results and other stuff from our reports. The strictures on copying our work apply to everyone including FB. What makes it worse is that no-one seems to be bothered about crediting Eurodragster.com when they steal our hard work. So cut it out or we'll send Kirstie after each and every one of you. Apologies to the usual address please.

We have not yet received today's updated running order but yesterday evening the plan was to start with the first rounds of Super Pro ET and Pro ET eliminations, then into the first round of Pro eliminations. Stay tuned and we'll be back with an update when we have our hands on a copy of today's schedule.
