Chris Hodgkins up from #19 to #10 in mid-session. 8.962 on a 9.00 dial-in for Dave Russell in the Marina van, that thing looks
like it would quite happily run sixes to be honest! Two pairs later Neil Hunter moved from #14 to #4. #28 to #22 for Bob Molden
and #13 to #10 for Charlie Chivers in the next pair. Then a great pass from Billy Gane put him into #2 spot from #14.
In the last pair Dave Hughes moved up from #31 to #11.

Jack Brewster improved against dial-in in the first pairing but stayed in #3 spot at that point.
Next pairing and Paul Mander made a move from #22 to #13 in his Arrow Super Mod and Barry Giles moved
from #11 to #3 in his dragster. Good to see Dave Townsend back in competition after testign last week,
#18 after his first pass of the day. Next pairing and Rod Harrison moved up from #8 to #3, the field
tightening up in Super Pro now as well. #15 to #10 for Pat Talbot next pairing. At that point the top
ten were separated by 0.0905 seconds. Next pairing and Mark Flavell's Funny Car launched in reverse,
luckily he got it stopped and back into first very quickly.

Top Fuel Dragster licencing:

A scary run for Tommy. The run scheduled for a half pass and started OK. 0.9337 to sixty feet and 3.4845/233.50 at
half track, then the car drifted to the left and took out the 990 foot and top end reflectors, then
a huge explosion and fire, the dragster moved to the right and it looked as if it brushed the wall, the chutes
burned off and the dragster went into the field at the end of the track. Black stripes down the shutdown area, Simon
who happened to be at the top end in the pits said that it sounded as if the throttle was stuck open as the engine
carried on at full throttle way past the finish line. News from the top end is that Tommy is quite OK. The car
has sustained at least rear wing damage and it stopped pointed more or less back down the track.

Pro ET qualifying session 3:
Rick Denny up from #33 to #7 in the first pairing, three pairings later Antony Wilkins made a huge
jump from #35 to #3. A move from #15 to #6 for Charlie Chivers another three pairings later, then
Neil Hunter moved up from #22 to #8 next pairing. A couple more pairings and Hans van der Spek moved up to #2 from #11.
Two pairings more and Mick Howling took over the lead from #17. Then a move from #21 to #5 for Dave Cherrett and
next pair #19 to #4 for Eddy van den Bos.

A big jump for Jack Brewster, #19 to #1 in the first pairing. A great pairing between Norbert Schneider and Steve Johnson,
0.0041 RT for Norbert and into #1 spot, Steve moving from #14 to #4. The Nosferatu Firebird is this weekend being supported by
a massive Cadillac hearse from Gothic Limousines, has to be seen to be believed and we will of course bring you a picture later.

Two pairings later a big move for Lee Huxley, up from #17 to #3. Another couple of pairings and Liz Malcolm moved from #15
to #4, the field is quickly tightening up. A nice first pass for Kim Bishop, his Willys now toting a tube chassis, 10.973 on
a 10.60 dial-in. Next pairing and a big jump for Phil Toppin, #15 to #2. Nice 0.009 RT for Carla Pittau int he next pair, had
husband Rick rattled in the other lane as he redlit. Big jump for Eddy van den Bos, #31 to #6, in the other lane Dave Russell clocked
9.081 on a 9.20 in the blown Marina van, a bit naughty but must be a PB I'd think. Next pair and Nigel Green moved up from #21

forums, but not quite. Right now we have blazing sunshine, I can see high cloud coming in from the west but it's just that - high
