The emergency qualifying placings have been set for all Sportsman classes except for Super Pro ET and Pro ET which will have to qualify tomorrow. The reason for not setting Super Pro and Pro via emergency qualifying rules is that all other classes are all-run whereas Super Pro and Pro will be running thirty two-car fields.

The emergency qualifying standings were pulled out of a hat by two members of the relevant class in the presence of three adjudicators. Out of interest the top fives in these classes are as follow:

Tomorrow's running order opens with Super Pro ET and Pro ET qualifying at 9:00, and then Pro qualifying at 9:30 starting with FIA Top Fuel Dragster.

We're done for today, it has started to rain heavily and even if it stopped now we would be looking at two hours or more to dry the track.

The plan for tomorrow as I understand it is Super Pro ET and maybe Pro ET qualifying, then Pro qualifying. All other Sportsman classes are on emergency qualifying and so will go straight into their eliminations and of course the Pros will go into eliminations having done their qualifying.

Waiting and waiting for a clear spot here at Santa Pod. The track crew have not stopped all day - and let's not forget that work started at 5:00. As things stand the track was dried for the nth time and spraying started at 17:10 but then word came from the top end that we had sprinkles of rain. The FIM/UEM racers are in the pairing lanes ready to run. Word at the moment is that if we get running by 6:00 then we will try to get through the Pro session, if not then we'll call it a day and come back tomorrow.

We've had a few iterations of dry track / rain / dry track / rain but the cloud has now broken up so hopefully we'll be on our way soon. Stay tuned.

We are due to start at 9:30 with Pro ET then Super Pro ET, and we will then go into the first cycle of Pro qualifying, UEM bikes first and then FIA cars. Stay tuned.

Good morning and welcome from Santa Pod Raceway for our coverage of day three the FIA European Finals presented in association with American Car Imports.

The Webster Race Engineering/MPM Oil webcam is on-line and is set to post a picture every sixty seconds until the track closes on Sunday evening.

For the first time this race weekend I'm writing a morning greeting and it's not raining! It was raining quite heavily until the middle of the night but now it has stopped and looking over my left shoulder in the direction of Thurleigh there is some bright sky headed this way which ties in with the forecast (which people still insist on telling your reporter despite his saying he does not want to know) of a weather window. The track crew have been at work since before 5:00 this morning and have so far been concentrating on the shutdown area. Trackside conditions are 13.5 C and 98% humidity (I suspect a waterlogged remote sensor which I shall shortly sort out) and 28.91 inches of air.

A big Hello to Ivar Kolberg, Viveca and Håkan Averstedt, Iain Burns and Barry Bohannon who have been in touch. Sorry we haven't been able to give you much more to read so far guys. However...

The track crew are throwing everything they have at the track, and the racers have been told that once the track is ready we're not stopping for anything.
