Graeme Freeman came into the top five at #2. 12:30 Super Modified top five qualifiers after session 7:
Andy Hone improved but stayed in #3 spot. A bit of a hairy ride for Paul Mander as the Arrow effectively pulled another burnout at the hit then suddenly turned hard right. Paul kept hold of it no problem. Rob Smallworth has fixed everything and clocked 7.9752 in this session. Outlaw Anglia top five qualifiers after session 6:
Paul Wright into the top five at #2 with his first pass of the weekend after two shut-offs this morning. Real Steel Street Eliminator top five qualifiers after session 6:
Jerry Charles improved slightly but stayed in #3 spot. Another improvement for Steve Nash, the new Cougar's going quicker and quicker and again the tyres were spinning off the line. It's really closing up at the top, Andy Haley the fourth into the 9.50s and into #4 spot. We've now got seventeen of nineteen qualifiers in the 9.5s - that's got to be far and away the best-ever qualifying field in 9.50 Bike, well done guys! 11:10 VW Pro top five after qualifying session 6:
Another improvement for Simon Bailey, doubtless having the time of his life, #3 spot at his first competitive event. Peter Christie moved into the top five with the last pass of the session. 11:00 Outlaw Anglia qualifying after session 5:
Another improvement from Mark Pointer and I think a new PB to consolidate his #1 spot, well done Hooligan! Ray Guy improved but stayed in place. Real Steel Street Eliminator top five qualifiers after session 5:
Jon Webster did a great driving job in this session, the MG took a hard left turn at 300 feet but Jon calmly pedalled and pulled it straight. Congratulations to Alex McIntosh on a new PB, 8.9862/156.87 and into #5 spot at that point. There's more there because Alex was on the brakes in the traps. An improvement for Steve Nash holding on to #2 spot, more to come from the Cougar too since the tyres spun off the line. Another improvment for Colin Lazenby, quite some feat for these conditions, in the other lane Al Simms got into the eights and took over #5 spot. 10:40 Super Modified top five qualifiers after session 6:
Timmy G just goes quicker and quicker, a new PB and consolidating his #1 spot, well done Tim! An improvement from Andy Kirk, too, coupled with a 0.0010 reaction time, nice one Andy. A couple of pairings later Fast Harry was next into the 9.50s and took over #3 spot. Finally, in the last run of the session, Jason Macan took over #1 spot. The top sixteen of nineteen qualifiers are in the 9.5s. 9:50 Real Steel Street Eliminator top five qualifiers after session 4:
Colin Lazenby improved still further and that was with a big pedal off the line, just about every car which ran in the session spun the tyres off the line - no wonder with a track temperature off 55.2 F which is only a few degrees above the air temperature of 50.2 F. 9:40 Super Modified top five qualifiers after session 5:
Nigel Payne improved slightly but stayed in place. Outlaw Anglia qualifying after session 4:

It's day two of the Big Bang and we're here to bring you all the news in association with American Car Imports. The Webster Race Engineering/MPM Oil webcam is on-line and broadcasting a picture every sixty seconds. You can access the webcam via the Event Index page. A real difference in the weather conditions today. After a glorious day yesterday it is none too warm out there this morning, overcast and with a chilly tail wind. Trackside it's 49.3 F, 81% humidity and 29.83 inches of air. The traditional raceday greeting to our US correspondents Ed O'Connell and Kathy Hileman who are tuned in from Rye, NH. Hope you are having a great day guys and that you are keeping an eye out for low-flying Volvos. Greetings also to the several people who wrote yesterday and told me what "aegrotat" means. As it happens I do tend to choose words because I already know what they mean, but it's the thought that counts. It's going to be frantic today with four full cycles of qualifying this morning and then Eliminations today. The track is due to open at 9:00 with VW Sportsman qualifying so stay tuned and as soon as things start to move we'll bring you the latest. Reports and pictures ©Eurodragster.com |
