Steve Turner (TMD) said "We're confident against Christer and pleased with our no.2 in the championship".

Krister Johansson said "We warmed up an inlet valve in the first round and have needed to strip the motor and replace it - hopefully we will be ready." The crew were working intensely as we passed.

Dave Wilson said "The track is better than we expected. We over=corrected maybe, but our 5.56 was enough in the first round and we have a bye in the semi."

Magnus Hansson said "I saw (Ulf Jonsson's) red-light and probably kept on it longer than I needed to - we had tyre shake and were out of the groove. With the bigger tyres, it feels safer. We were ok in the left lane in the first round but maybe the track has cooled down a little."

Jimmy Alund said "We were loose because we didn't have the wheely bars adjusted properly and need to try to keep in the groove against Magnus in the final".

Tommy Moller said "The motor is fine after the last run and we will still go for it in the final as we need to get low ET for the championship."

Micke Kagered said "We will go for the win rather than a faster ET. Tommy has a very agressive setup and we haven't needed to go down the track yet, so we are pretty confident for the event win."

In the Pro Mod pits, competitors were licking their lips at the semi-final matchups. Patrick Wikstrom said "It's going to be exciting! I'm delighted with my 0.98 60ft time."

Håkan Nilsson, whose Lenco transmission was out of the car, said "We are changing a gear ratio to get more tyrespin in first gear, as the track is so good and we need to step up against Andy Robinson."

Andy Robinson said, "We dropped a valve in the first round and had to change a cylinder head. The engine buzzed after 5.3s and I got off the throttle after 5.6s. We had a spare head set up for the first time at this event."

Arvid Grodem was extremely happy after running a personal best of 5.884 today and reaching his first final, against Ulf Leanders. He said, "It's going to be a great race as we are evenly matched at this evening."

After the first round of eliminations, here a comments from some of the competitors:

Ulf Leanders (TMFC) said after his win over Urs Erbacher, "We were shaking hard in first gear, shifted early and then the car moved around in second and third. Urs staged first and I think he was anxious on the lights."

Urs Erbacher was delighted to be Champion once again. "I didn't see the red light as I only left 2/1000s early. I had to squeeze the tree because I know that Ulf has run faster than us (5.666). The car shook in first gear and I had to lift slightly for a 5.92."

Ulf Jonsson (Pro Stock) said, "The car has felt good this event, and we are pleased to have beat Michael Malmgren. We have run our best 60ft time since the Main Event, and although the car was a little loose on this round it ran well. Magnus will probably have lane choice."

Magnus Hansson said, "In winning the first round I believe we have achieved second place in the championship which was our objective this year. We have now got a good handle on the ex-Greg Anderson car, which runs really smoothly, and it was running as well today as it has all weekend."

Lex Joon said, "We think we have found the edge of what the track could do. It was important for the championship that we get low ET which we have now done by 1/1000 sec (4.933). We left the line early and had shake after 60ft. I kept in it to see what it would do and in the last eighth it took off like a rocket. When I pulled the chutes, I thought, "Thank You, Eddie", for giving me such a great setup. We made no mistakes, and I'm really proud of everyone on the team. I would also like to thank all the crew here for preparing such an excellent track after all the rain."

Kenneth Lorentzen, crew chief for Tommy Moller, said "We saw Andy's (Carter) red light and waved at him as we went by. Tommy lifted but had run into severe tyre shake."

Knut Soderquist (car owner for Micke Kagered and Susanne Callin) said, "The track is good, and you never know who is going to be the winner, any one of these cars could win. Both of our cars are capable of running 4.8s, but we are having to change the motor on Susanne's car as there was damage in the first round."

Niclas Andersson's crew chief G&oring;an "Emil" Edman said "There was some tyre shake; the track was better than we thought." Crew member Aaron Wilson added, "We're up against Arvid next round and we need to run a 5.85 as he has stepped up to run 5.88 last time."

10:00

Gittli Koller (data analyst for Peter Schofer) said "We would hope to improve our time from the 5.7 qualifier, but the weather conditions may not allow this, because the track is sp cold. This and the humidity make it tricky to run well in conditions like this." Gittli confirmed the team is intending to compete in Top Methanol Dragster next year.

Ulf Leanders (TMFC) is scratching his head after suffering tyre shake on his qualifier. "We ran a 5.86 off the trailer at the Press Day, but on our first qualifier we shook the tyres badly and ran a 6.30 to qualify eighth. We also hurt a couple of bearings on that run so couldn't make the second session on Friday. We are racing Urs Erbacher in the first round. We've taken him in the past but need more runs to get a good feeling about the match-up. We'll give it all we can. The team operation with Martin Lundqvist is benefiting both teams and our major sponsors Ironcad particularly.

Martin Lundqvist who is racing Niclas Andersson in round one of TMFC said "Niclas was last in the Kagered team go kart challenge, so anything can happen!"

Leif Andreasson said "We only ran one qualifiying run, because we lost the oil hose before we fired up. Our run was a 5.87 with tyre shake, and we lifted once and short shifted twice. We made some changes to the setup but needed more runs to test them. We have an advantage over Arvid in the first round, but only if we can get down the track.

Leif continued "The problem with this season is that there have been so few opportunities to make runs with the rain shortened events. So we are considering running in the US over the winter season, if we want to stay in TMFC. At the moment we're undecided about moving up to top fuel because of the cost of the depth of parts needed to run well and the need to make more runs to make the cars run well. The expanded European championship will give all teams the opportunity for more track time, but the additional transport costs is an issue."

"I would like to thank all the track crew for their hard work and in particular Nettan and Sussie, who have worked tirelessly in Sweden for the last 15 years and are here as spotters this meeting. They were so keen to learn more about running meetings, I organised a collection among the racers to fund them on a trip to the US to see and learn at an NHRA meeting."

Ronny Aasen, who would become Supertwins champion if today is a rainout, said "We simply want to go racing and are not thinking too hard about the Championship. I am leading, but there are three of us who could win the championship but we have not had too good a weekend. We smoked the tyre twice on Friday and broke our primary belt yesterday. Nothing else has broken and we are working hard to make the bike run better. Thanks go to crew chief Sten Eric, who was clutch man with Arvid Grodem, his expertise there has been invaluable. Also a big thanks to sponsors Bahco Tools."

Michael Malmgren said "We are pleased with our performance this weekend as we ran a 6.95 straight off the trailer on Friday. We only slowed by two hundredths in the second round which was in the more bumpy left lane, despite having tyre shake. Both Jimmy (Alund) and Magnus (Hansson) ran in the left lane and we slowed down less than they did, so we have a good and consistent setup."

Lex Joon (Top Fuel) said "We are here for racing, and hope to have a good, dry track to race on. If conditions stay this way, we will be Champions but we are not looking for the easy way out. We're looking forward to racing Gary Page, as I beat him on the only time we met before, in the 1995 Cannonball. We expect to meet Micke in the semi-final and then run Andy or Tommy in the final if all goes well. It will be great, if we can overcome the weather."

Patrick Wikstrom (Pro Mod) said, "We couldn't get the car started in yesterday's second qualifying session. It was the same problem that we had at Mantorp and I hope we have fixed it. Anything could happen against Bruno Bader with the current weather conditions; the track is cold and we could lose traction." Patrick is considering the possibility of buying a new car from Tim McAmis, but if he does so he will be careful abot who he will sell the current one to. "I don't want to sell it in Europe - we wouldn't want to be defeated by our old car."

Danny Cockerill is grateful to Håkan Fallström who has loaned him a replacement blower and Lenco. "Unfortunately the new parts didn't arrive and Håkan has had to withdraw with piston damage, so many thanks to him", said Danny. After running a 6.56 at the Allstar Nationals, Danny's best time here is a 6.681. "We've moved from the 25% blower overdrive to 20% after the rule changes earlier and this hit our ET. We are up against it. The car has been running well but we have been hurting the motor." Danny is hoping to run the same programme in 2006 with thanks to new sponsors Sunblades.net.

Luke Robinson of father Andy Robinson's Pro Mod team said "Our objective is to try to back the 227.19mph speed up for the record. Overall, we're very pleased with the season and the progress made by Pro Mod - a lot of people are looking to step up. It hasn't done our racecar building business any harm too."
