13:25

Pro Street qualifying session 2

7.7736 in the first pair by Ossi Oikarinen moved him up from #19 to #12, almost had his crew's feet during his out-of-shape burnout into the bargain. Great side-by-side with Peter Nordlund 7.6266 and Lars Berglund 7.6336, puff of smoke from Peter's right bank, early shut-off and chuteout on the stripe. Improvement for Lars but stayed #4. 7.6243 to 7.6236 side-by-side for Roger Kullander and Johan Källberg, #3 and #2 respectively. Felix Nilsson in Fast Freddy mode with a 300-foot burnout, has to work on the backing-up speed though. Ola Andersson pushed back in Q1, had to pedal off the line this time and some smoke from the motor but got a 9.3106 on the board.

Just as Ola turned off the shutdown area it started to rain. On hold.

Super Comp qualifying session 2

Kristina Hägglund Nygren with an 8.9193 to consolidate her #1 spot in the first pair, no time for Micke Nilsson but I must confess that I was looking at my laptop missed whether that was a Deep Stage or left before the lights ran. Next pair held whilst Kenny cleared the shutdown area. 9.9634 for Håkan Mattsson moved him up to #2... I have been coming racing in Sweden every year since 1999, I have been to Pite Dragway, Borlänge, Mantorp Park and Tierp Arena and I can't think of many, if any, of those races at which Håkan Mattsson and Tomas Hägg were not present.

Quick groom of the track then Super Comp.

Tony Andersson's motor cut out at the hit, 8.7347 for Tage Olsson in the other lane won him #3. Kim Oksanen closed the session, shut off at half track.

That's the end of cycle 1, into cycle 2 after a quick sweep of the track.

11:20

Comp Eliminator qualifying session 1

Great to see Andres Arnover (6.89) back so quickly after the qualifying crash in June. Robert pushed back after the burnout so Andres took the bye, 1.1269 to sixty, a pedal then off the gas. Wheelie off the line for Viljar Mäesepp (7.05). looked to be three wheels off momentarily, landed pointing at the centre line which he then crossed and banged the 330 foot reflector. In the other lane Roger Forström (7.87) with problems launching, idled along the track. On the restart Timo Erhomäki also with problems launching, idled along the track. Next pair and Keld Jakobsen's (7.23) BMW started drifting right, pedalled and back on it, in the other lane Deniel Jedborn's (7.42) tyres went up in smoke, a couple of pedals and gave it up. Clean runs next pair, Gideon Liljegren (7.76) into #1 at 7.0646. The usual startline-fogging burnout by Mika Eloranta (7.23) then a fantastic 6.6889, PB judgign by the crew's reaction, well done Mika and team! Good for #3. Meanwhile in the other lane a great 6.7820 for Niklas Heikkilä (7.45) put him in at #2. Big wheelie then tyre shake for Jesper Stenberg (7.00), off the gas, shake and off the gas for Jim Bergström (6.89). 100-foot burnout by Jens Eklund (7.87), in the other lane Peter Thörnäs (6.89) pulled an eighty-foot burnout as Jens got back. 10:55

Pro Street qualifying session 1

Pro Street with a 7.60 index, run under 7.50 and you go home. Ossi Oikarinen and Felix Nilsson opened the session, Felix with problems in the burnout shut off and pushed back. Ossi with problems getting up on the recs, car jumped out of stage and the right side spat a huge gout of flame, start line fire marshal started to run for the car but Ossi wellied it before he got there. Kristoffer Nordström with problems on and off the gas all the way, in the other lane Peter Trång with a great 7.6701. Next pair with problems starting, PS 910 with a carb fire quickly sorted by the fire marshal, crew visibly unhappy about something but I can't imagine that it was the fire being extinguished. Miekc Norén and Stefan Bjöns followed, 7.6331 for Micke Norén good for #1 at that point. Side-by-side 7.6s for Johan Källberg 7.6980 and Peter Nordlund 7.6130 which took top spot. Pär Norgren in at #4 at 7.6749 next pair, in the other lane a nice understaed wheelie for Alexandra Wingård. Paired shake for Michael Maderer and Preben Bærentzen. Nice 7.6292 for Christian Kongshem alongside Anna Knutes good for #2 at that point. Trond Nordby with shake on launch, long pedal. 7.6956 for Daniel Hållestam and in the other lane our first breakout, 7.5303 for Roger Kullander - one of those runs on which you could see by about 330 feet that a 7.5 would come up. Sinde-by-side 7.6s next pair, Lars Berglund at 7.6496 went to #4 and Pelle Arvdidsson at 7.6771 went to #8. Christer Åberg and Seppo Raussi followed, Christer on his way home courtesy of a 7.4536. 7.6650 for Seppo good for #5. Fredrik Gravningen closed the session with a bye, motor stopped abruptly at half track and then an explanation as the blower belt departed the pick-up and slid across the track.

10:30

Pro ET qualifying session 1

First time for this class at this event. Alice Hauge (11.20) with a great start, 11.2664 but outdone next pair by Jonas Larsson in the big Coronet at 10.2059. Not entirely sure what is occurring with the timing system here, seems to be showing heads-up standings which is making things a bit tricky. Timing crew on the case, we will have more to say about Pro ET next session.

Super Pro ET qualifying session 1

Similarly the first appearance of this class I can remember at this event, timing system similarly showing them heads-up at present. Björn Romaren-Hultberg (8.80) and usually Super Comp racer Micke Nilsson (7.90) in the first pair. 8.8598 for Björn played 7.9211 for Micke. Lucas Karlsson (8.58) with an 8.6205, in the other lane Janne R Klunglad (8.71) had problems and cruised along the track. Stefan Jansson (8.32) with an 8.3749 in the penultimate pair, breakout 8.7101 for Tommy Abrahamsson (8.75). Trine Fossum (7.55) closed the session with a 7.6110 bye.

10:20

Stock/Super Stock qualifying session 1

9.1722 for Ari Körkkö (10.05) a great start, followed by Anders Eriksson (11.40) with a 10.6375 and Erik Wallin (11.00) with a 10.4196. Lars Johansson (13.45) took #1 at 12.4071 in the third pair. Lasse Bodén (10.70) with a nice wheelie and into #4 at 9.9282. Next pair and Thomas Strand (12.15) into #3 at 11.3081. Per Fagerström (11.00) with a 10.1326 in at #3. Björn Bondesson(11.25) in at #3 with a 10.3015 but in the other lane Lars Nyberg (11.50) went into top spot at 10.4435. Lars Björklund (12.00) with an 11.0141 took #5 spot, next pair and Jonas Bengtsson (11.00) took #8 at 10.0688. Big tyre shake for Kai Suilo (10.30) next pair lost him a lot of ET. Peter Lindberg (10.35) with a great 9.4637 took #9, in the other lane Anders Lindh (10.80) looked to have problems getting second gear. Bo Nylund with a 10.9132 (11.70) in at #14, Jarmo Markkanen (11.20) with problems in the other lane, shut off early and cruised. Same story for P-A Lindström (11.00) next pair.

The full results are now being posted to the screen at right, a Ctrl and R should do the trick for you.

Super Comp qualifying session 1

First pair and a huge cloud of smoke from Angelica Larsson's Fairlane right on the stripe, in the other lane an 8.9409 for Micke Nilsson. Track checked whilst next pair fired up, Jan Hallman and Thomas Hauge burned out and then shut off and clean-up crew called to the top end.

Very quick clean-up. On the restart a 100-foot burnout by Jan Hallman. Thomas Hauge's Mustang was making moves to the right all the ay down the track, one particularly serious-looking move right before the stripe and Thomas wisely put the chute out, still #2 at 9.3685. 8.4912 for Peter Harritz, in the other lane Sami Holm shut off well early and clocked 8.9860 for #2. Jack Krugel in his Nissan a new name to me, bouncy launch, looked like a checkout pass. Next pair and another new one on me, Peter Larsen in a Toyota Supra. Certainly has the burnouts off pat. A long time in stage up on the revs, shut it off after the eighth and still clocked 9.9962. Mari Udtian of the legendary Islanders next up alongside Kent Olofsson. 9.0883 for Mari with a couple of wanders towards the stripe. Pontus Garefelts's dragster did not start, pushed to one side whilst the crew took a look but eventually pushed away. Leif Andersson up against Dennis Skiby's FWD Toyota Starlet. Dennis drove through tyre spin to a 9.5252, in the other lane Leif took '2 spot at 8.9459. Gesticulation between Kristina Hägglund Nygren's team and the starter, into stage eventually and 8.9057 good for #1 spot at that point. Another FWD competitor next pair, again from Denmark, and another Toyota Starlet, in this case Jakob Hansen taking on Tina Olsen Frog. Before staging Jakob threw his driver side door open and started waving to his crew who got the message eventually. On the green got about a yard off the line then shut off and stopped, pushed back. 9.0231 for Tina in the other lane good for #5. Deep Stage foul for Elin Aarvik next pair, in the other lane 8.9268 for Albin Frank took #2 at that point. Joe Kellett next up in the Drummin' Man dragster which won at Hockenheim last week with Leah in the seat. Joe of course has a successful history in Sweden having swept the board in Junior Dragster some years back. 9.0390 good for #7 for Joe. Amanda Sjöström-Andersson closed the session, 9.0500 good for #8.

09:30

Super Gas qualifying session 1

9.9321 for Fredrik Fredlund in the first pair. 10.0027 for Eddy van den Bos in the fourth pair good for #2, next pair and a 9.8665 for Erik Jansson close but no cigar, 10.0803 for Mats Karlsson took #4 at that point. 9.8987 soooo close for Jan Rhodin. Bent Arold G Strøm with a very gentle pass closed the session.

09:25

Super Street qualifying session 1

10.8892 for Christer Gustafsson to open the session, one too many Weetabix, in the other lane a troubled-looking 12.0339 for Kenneth Öberg. Sebastien Jacobsen in at #1 next pair with an 11.2771... I don't think I am sticking my neck out too far saying that #1 spot may not last. And indeed it didn't, 10.9598 for Marie Wallin took it over. 10.6436 and 10.7571 breakouts for Stefan Bengtsson and Kent Forschner-Hell good for opropping up the rest of the ladder. Reasonably naughty 10.6624 for Tomas Hägg, 10.9810 for Uffe Lundgren in the other lane good for #2 at that point. Isak Lagg closed the session with an 11.0757 which won him #3.

09:20

09:15

Junior Dragster qualifying session 1

Yes kids, Little Santa is here.

The sun came out just as the first pair went to stage. First to leave the line at the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals Tomas Numinen with a 0.0086, impressive for a first hit considering he was probably in the land of nod less than an hour ago. 0.0496 for Leevi Kortelainen in the other lane outdone next pair by Emilia Niemi 0.0291. Mats Arntzen Wanvik's dragster wouldn't move on the sticky track, crew took hold of the car and gave it a good shake, 0.2331 RT says a lot about that one. 0.0431 for Elias Otvall next pair. 0.0023 an even better off-the-trailer RT for Nikolai Tejnø but then stopped on track at about 1000 feet and retrieval called. During the downtime Track Announcer PiPPi got a Mexican wave going... OK so there were three people in the stands but they did it. On the restart 0.0686 for Nina Björnsson outdone by 0.0856 by Riina Raussi next pair. Side-by-side 0.0284 and 0.0270 for Jesper Norin and Malin Sørensen, #4 and #3 respectively at that moment. 0.0338 for Nelly Ericsson good for #7 at that point. Hold for rain after Nelly and Hedda Victoria Birk ran.

0.0575 for Justin Ericsson on the restart. 0.0146 for Roman Sixta Jr next pair good for #3 at that point. 0.0784 for Wilma Andersson bought her #14 at that point. Pontus Söderlund with a 0.0162 good for #4, then another hold for rain.

On Restart II Kevin Granholm with a 0.0252 which won him #5 at that point, then another stop for rain. Do you get the feeling it's going to be one of those days?

Very brief stop that time. Charlie Anchersen Andreasson and Tess Backman next up, 0.0846 for Charlie good for #17. Next up our globetrotter Liam McDonald - hello Gabby! - 0.0751 in at #16 at that point. 0.0820 for Fanny Andersson in at #18. At that point 0.0820 would get you #20. Our visitor from the UK Tom Kaye next up, 0.0916 bought him #21.
