17:20

Super Gas Bike qualifying session 3

No changes in this session although Ida Johansson and Jim Forsberg must have set some kind of record with a 25.0698 to 28.2133 match-up.

Super Comp Bike qualifying session 3

8.5927 from Anders Gerdtsson to back up his earlier 8.5678. 8.5830 for Bert Nilsen, improvement but stayed in fourth place.

That's qualifying done for today. Stay tuned as Simon has more pit notes for you and Lena is putting together a gallery.

17:15

Pro Street qualifying session 3

Tero Vainio's turn for a breakout in the first pair, 7.5526. Next pair and Mats Lusth broke out too, 7.5172. 7.6236 for Pelle Arvidsson good for #3 spot although it looked like there was a puff of lack smoke from his motor right on the stripe. rack checked, all OK. 7.7251 by Jens Petter Lindström won him #7 spot at that point. 7.6097 from Seppo Raussi to back up his 7.6021 earlier. 7.6246 moved Peter Trång back up to #4 from #5.

Comp Eliminator qualifying session 3

Horrible launch for Stig Olsson, the slingshot hit shake and was then bouncing all the way along the track as Stig idled it to the end. Big improvement for Lars-Georg Johansson, 6.8609/318.77, was already #2 but that put it a bit more out of reach. Adam Andersson up from #18 to #11 at 7.5059. 6.8014/325.89 for Rolf Simonsson, improvement but stayed #7. PerErik Lindgren up to #3 at 8.4687. Thomas Thörnäs running under the gaze of US engine builder Mike Moran. Rolled through stage then hit shake. In the other lane a fierce launch for Pär Eriksson, something came off the car about 200 feet out - not easy to tell from here but maybe a piece of bodywork. Gutsy drive for Per Bergström to end the session, that dragster did not want to go straight.

16:30

Stock / Super Stock qualifying session 3

Anders Eriksson up from #12 to #9 in the third pair. Next pair and Lars Björklund took over #9 spot. Looked like one big wheelie too many for Anders Holmberg's Cuda, lost drive on the thumping landing and pulled over at about half track. Anders Hållén has "RIP Pappa" in shoe white on his rear window - our condolences Anders. In the other lane Eurodragster.com sponsor Nic Willians had a go at Wheelie of the Day, taken from him next pass by Björn Bondesson who also moved up to #2. Again no big movements on the ladder.

16:15

Super Street qualifying session 3

Christer Gustavsson returned to the pits before running. 10.9603 for Garth Haworth good for #3 spot. 10.9699 for Halvor Överby closed the session.

Super Gas qualifying session 3

9.9612 for #1 qualifier Christer Uhlin in the first pair. 9.9544 for #3 qualifier Johan Rennström, in the other lane Patrik Wickman looked to have trouble getting off the line, found gear and got going about 100 feet out. 9.9289 by Håken Mattsson won him #3 spot at that point. Stefan Andersson jumped the lights going on the transbrake so no time. 9.9348 good for #5 for Jan Jonsson.

Super Comp qualifying session 3

8.9172 for Julie Nataas in the first pair to consolidate her #2 spot. Identical 8.9172 by Leif Andersson next pair, albeit in the other lane, put him #3. Hesitation from Hampus Gisslén's motor at the eighth and then a huge cloud of smoke which obscured the car most of the way down the shutdown area. Safety crews chased Hampus down. Track checked and all OK. Wayward launch for Bosse Ragnebro, into the yellow boundary about fifty feet out but kept it off the guardrail. Matilda Sjöström-Andersson close to the left rail in the shutdown area, looked like the car grounded but most likely a trick of the light.

15:55

Top Doorslammer qualifying session 2 (left lane first)

Odd Erik Fossum 14.6099/43.32 bye; Samuel Andersson shut off (bye); Andreas Sjödin shut off, Jussi Pippolainen shut off; Andreas Sjödin 4.3359/285.56 bye, Jussi Pippolainen shut off; Stefan Gustafsson 4.8104/206.58, Lenn Lindell 4.4704/281.10; Michael Joneskog 12.4961/79.31, Jör;gen Berg 4.7174/265.62; Stefan Holmberg 4.1062/297.36 bye, Pontus Liberg did not start; Benny Strand 5.0221/197.37 bye, Anette Birkenes shut off; Åke Eliasson 4.0281/306.12, Stefan Carlsson 4.2205/300.33; Jonas Malmqvist 5.3520/166.41, Mats Stefansson 4.0274/303.03; Rimbert Vahlström 3.8521/318.40, Pierre Rydberg 4.0542/304.91; Micke Lindahl 3.8853/306.30, Victor Jansson 4.1401/290.64; Mats Wicktor 5.3747/154.95, Adam Flamholc 3.8069/332.51

A few drops of rain fell just as track grooming started but it was literally a few drops. Odd Erik with a bye to open the session. Sounded from here as if he briefly lost fire after the burnout but if so then restarted no problem. 1.327 to sixty with tyres shaking then sounded like a jump out of gear as the motor zinged, Odd Erik off the gas immediately and rolled through. Odd Erik's lane checked and another spot or two of rain fell. One of the jet dryers was brought out.

On the restart a couple of blips of the throttle through the bleach box and then Samuel shut off and was pushed back. Nice burnouts for Andreas and Jussi but then were shut off for spots of rain before staging.

A very brief shower, track dryer again, and Andreas and Jussi came back for another attempt this time in sunshine. Jussi shut off before staging and was pushed back. Not obvious what was wrong, not a fluid leak. 1.0339 to sixty for Andreas, a pedal for shake then back on the gas all the way. Stopped on the shutdown area, quad sent to the rescue. Double-step launch for Lenn but stayed on the gas all the way after that, Stefan's car struggled to get off the line and he shut it off before the stripe. Lenn's lane checked but all OK. Paired shake for Michael and Jörgen, 1.3383 to sixty for Michael and a flash of flame and off the gas. 1.1230 to sixty for Jörgen, a couple of pedals and stayed with it all the way. Stefan fired up and waited patiently whilst Pontus' crew made several attempts to start the motor, from where I was sitting it looked as if the motor was not even turning over. The call was made to tell them to quit and Pontus was pushed away. 0.9827 to sixty for Stefan driving through shake, car was weaving a little but he stayed with it and moved up the ladder. Anette had trouble getting reverse after the burnout but got there after a few attempts. Crew then went to the car before staging, driver's door open, and eventually signalled that they would not be running. 1.1218 to sixty for Banny, a pedal for shake, on it for a couple of seconds then shut off with the motor popping and banging. Nice pair of runs for Åke and Stefan. Stefan to sixty in 1.0142, the Firebird was moving left and right but Åke stayed with it. 1.1053 to sixty for Stefan, straighter run. 1.0413 to sixty for Mats with bad shake, the car pretty much uncorked moving left and right and he got off the throttle. 1.0500 to sixty for Jonas, no real sign of shake, slight improvement on his earlier pass and good enough for a move to #2. Fantastic run for Rimbert! 0.9503 to sixty, not a foot wrong. 1.0518 to sixty for Pierre with a very brief pedal passing the Tree. Rimbert up to #2 and Pierre up to #6. Great match-up between Micke and Victor! Micke to sixty in 0.9858 to Victor's quicker 0.9739, Victor drove through shake and his car was moving towards the guardrail but he stayed with it and pulled it away. Micke meanwhile outta there in a straight line. Stormer for Adam! 0.9698 to sixty, straight down the middle of the lane and improved on his own #1 spot. 0.1130 to sixty for Mats with front wheels up, pedalled and the front end went way up in the air and the Vette headed for the centre line, had to back it off.

14:30

Junior Dragster qualifying session 3

Top Doorslammers due at 14:15 but Junior Dragsters appeared through the arch, a bit more collecting to do I guess. Wilma Anderssn up from #19 to #15 under the gaze of dad Niclas Andersson of Reaction Time renown. Next pair and Jesper Norin took over the lead at 0.0080. Problems for Fanny Olsson next pair, pushed back. OK so Jesper's lead lasted one pair, Mats Arntzen Wanvik stepped up to the plate with a 0.0051. Pontus Garefelt up from #14 to #8 next pair at 0.0277. Another move for Simon Brusén, #11 to #3 next pair at 0.0113. The top 19 are separated by 0.0920.

OK now we are going into Top Doorslammer, just a quick bit of track grooming first.

14:15

Super Gas Bike qualifying session 3

Anton Alsmyr into #3 in the first pair, 9.9777. Another 9.5 for #1 qualifier Thomas Nordin, 9.5387.

Super Comp Bike qualifying session 3

8.5716 for #2 qualifier Anders Gerdtsson to back up his earlier 8.5678. Next pair a 0.0011 breakout for #1 qualifier Peter Svensson.

Now collecting Top Doorslammers for their Q2.

14:10

Pro Street qualifying session 3

Another 7.6 for Peter Trång to open the session, in the other lane Joakim Andersson's 8.0249 was good for #6. Next pair and an 8.1243 good for #11 for Micael Eriksson. Lars Berglund next up the ladder at 7.6484, won him #2 spot and took a long way round which may have saved him from breaking out. 7.8075 for Christer Åberg good for #6. Roffe Plahn up to #6 at 7.6886, in the other lane #1 qualifier Daniel Hållestam broke out with a 7.5786. Final pair was a doozie, Pelle Arvidsson with a 7.6745 good for #5 place and Seppo Raussi with a 7.6021 good for #2.

13:55

Simon has already posted two sets of pit notes which you can check out via the Event Index.

Stock / Super Stock qualifying session 3

Arto Sulopuisto up to #7 from #11 in the fourth pair. Ari Körkkö pushed back in the last pair. Very few changes in the standings big or small and it looked like some of the racers were already putting away the big wheelies having flaunted them earlier. Not, of course, Rick McCann.

13:40

Super Gas qualifying session 3

Unusually problems for Håkan Mattsson in the second pair, shut it off at about half track. Next pair and Johan Rehnström went up to #3 at 9.9305 from #14, in the other lane Olav Skervø had problems off the line, rolled to a halt about 300 feet out with the quick-reacting safety crew chasing him on foot. Quad attended and towed the stricken car off the track. Next pair and Stefan Andersson moved up to #8 at 9.9678. 9.9896 good for #9 spot for Stefan Fallkvist next pair. 9.9303 for Janne Noren to back up his earlier 9.9203.

Super Comp qualifying session 3

8.9565 for Julie Nataas in the first pair to back up the earlier 8.9280. Improvement for Leif Andersson but his 8.9347 not quite enough to move him up from #4 spot. Johanna Granholm up from #15 to #6 at 8.9826.

13:25

Junior Dragster qualifying session 3

Jesper Norin up from #19 to #9 in the first pair with a 0.0435. Atle Poolsar pushed back after cleaning the tyres, looked and sounded like a broken belt. Tobias Björnsson up from #7 to #3 next pair. Oskar Norling next up the ladder, #16 to #3 at 0.0216. First run of the day for Teodor Norling, broke shortly off the line. RT should have been good for #15.

Super Street qualifying session 3

Improvement for Tomas Hägg, 10.9046, consolidating the #1 spot at that point. Looked like a decal or something similarly flexible came off the car at about 330 feet. Lots of smoke from Christer Gustafsson's Dodge, happened in the last round also, track checked and all OK. Kent Forschner-Hell up to #2 at 10.9252, in the other lane Mauri Kamppinen seemed to have trouble staging, rolling through, Kent patiently waited in pre-stage and Mauri came back and courteously went straight into stage to save Kent any more wait.

13:05

Super Gas Bike qualifying session 2

Another 9.5-second pass for #1 qualifier Thomas Nordin, 9.5953 but his 9.5317 earlier pass still stands for #1.

Super Comp Bike qualifying session 2

Bert Nilsen and Bianca Nilsson into #2 and #3 respectively in the first pair. Peter Svensson with an 8.5650 into #1 spot whilst Anders Gerdtsson moved up to #2 at 8.5678. Nichlas Sverin at 8.5797 next pair moved up to #3.

12:55

Comp Eliminator qualifying session 2

Jimmy Tihvan pushed away before starting. Stefan Winter took the bye, relatively gentle run with long gearshifts. Jens Eklund next with the wild Audi. -1.1962 on index last time out. First outing for Jens Gustavsson in the other lane. 7.2738/301.84 improvement for Jens, great run! Nice fishtailing slingshot burnout for Stig Olsson to open his account, screaming motor and not much forward movement on the run. Adam Andersson fired up but then shut off and was pushed away. Bye for Per Bergström, stumbling start but picked up and into #8. Next pair and Robin Norén had problems firing up, eventually pushed away. Bye for Fredrik Skärgård, first run of the day on a 7.86 index, 8.731. Great, roaring paired burnouts for Lars-Georg Johansson and Daniel Jedborn. 7.1616 good for #2 for Lars-Georg, Daniel drove through bad shake and lost a lot of time to it. Another go for Rolf Simonsson in the Camaro. Sören Andreasson in the other lane. Rolf up against an index of 7.27, Sören already in at #7. Rolf waited behind stage for a clean-up, Sören took a bye to #6 spot at 8.6335. After a short delay Rolf got his bye, 6.8389/322.58 for #5 spot. Crew very happy with that one. Next up Tricky Thörnäs and Bjørn Johansen, shake for Peeter and Bjørn up from #15 to #6 at 7.1581. Yet another different set-up for PerErik Lindgren, dragster this time with some interesting plumbing plus a parabolic mirror on the nose to locate his competitor. Early shut-off for PerErik, 6.7576/329.27 for Pär Eriksson in the other lane good for #4.

12:25

Pro Street qualifying session 2

7.6001/280.96 for Daniel Hållestam in the first pair, bang on the class' limit, well done Daniel! Minor clean-up in Daniel's lane, hopefully that doesn't mean that the run came at a price. Next pair and Mats Andersson up to #4 at 8.0348. Great run for Peter Trång, 7.6738 good for #2. Jens Petter Lindstrøm up to #5 at 8.0648, next run and Joakim Andersson slotted in behind him at 8.0713 and Tero Vainio at 8.0921. Christer Åberg into #5 at 8.0384 but at the cost of a flapping chute, looks like one of two of the lines broke. Got it stopped OK though. Seppo Raussi into #2 spot at 7.6558, in the other lane Lars Berglund was pushed back, decamped from the car in front of Race Control and in those few seconds his body language visibly changed from adrenaline-pumped to "Oh well, that's racing". #4 spot for Pelle Arvidsson at 7.6875 in the last pair.

12:10

Stock / Super Stock qualifying session 2

#23 to #5 in one fell swoop for Ari Körkkö in the first pair. Next pair and #20 to #6 for Eurodragster.com sponsor Nic Williams. Arto Sulopuisto up from 21 to #7 next pair with a somewhat wayward pass, heading for the centreline but staying with it, something came off the car and shredded as he pulled it back into the centre of his lane never having got off the gas. Track crew dispatched to pick up lots of little pieces of... whatever it was. Thomas Strand next up the ladder, 10 to #7. Per Fagerström slotted in behind him at #8. #20 to #17 for Rick McCann into the nines on the replacement motor. Improvement for Björn Bondesson to consolidate his #1 spot. Next pair and Bo Nylund improved but stayed #3. #24 to #15 for Yrjo Wallius, in the other lane sounded like transmission problems for Uffe Edwardsson. Jarimo Grönman up from #17 to #1 next pair. Lars Nyberg up to #2 in the penultimate pair.

11:55

Super Gas qualifying session 2

Christer Uhlin into the lead in the first pair, 9.9037. Jannr Noren and Jan Hallman side-by-side into #2 and #3 respectively at 9.9203 and 9.9517. Helena Olsson up to #6 in her Morris Minor, 9.9869. Next pair and a 9.9499 good for #3 for Annica Larsson. Next up the ladder Håkan Mattsson, 9.9343 good for #3.

Super Comp qualifying session 2

Side-by-side stuttering off the line contest for Bengt Stafberg and Fredrik Gravningen in the first pair. Tyre spin at the hit for Gideon Liljegren then the car was moving about in the breeze at the top end. Leif Andersson up to #3 with an 8.9445 next pair. Julia Borén Stolt also taken by the breeze at the top end, close to the guardrail but had a hold of it, Matilda Sjöström-Andersson's car was similarly moving around just before the stripe. Julie Nataas up to #2 in the penultimate pair at 8.9280.

11:35

Junior Dragster qualifying session 2

Felicia Olsson up a place, #18 to #17 second pair. Improvement for Hampus Sundqvist, 0.0147 to consolidate his #1 spot. In the other lane an improvement for Theodor Brandt, 0.0553 good for #6 at tha point. Victor Heleader up from #15 to #10 next pair. #24 to #10 for Oskar Norling next pair, 0.0758. #24 to #6 for Nina Björnsson, 0.0467. Simon Brusén and Lucas Karlsson side by side up the ladder #10 to #5 and #17 to #3 respectively. Next pair and Justin Ericsson took over the lead at 0.0125. The top fourteen are separated by 0.0920.

Super Street qualifying session 2

Could anyone join Halvor Överby in the 10.9s? Indeed yes! Ulf Axelsson took #1 spot in the first pair at 10.9634. Garth Haworth's suspiciously street-legal looking car has "Oh my Garth" in shoe white on the back screen. In the other lane Kent Forschner-Hell took over the dead at 10.9415. Brief hold for track check after Christer Gustafsson ran, looked like small bits being picked up from Christer's lane. Tomas Hägg into the lead in the last pair at 10.9313.

11:10

Top Doorslammer qualifying session 1 (left lane first)

Odd Erik Fossum 16.5103/37.32 bye; Samuel Andersson 4.7708/238.83 bye; Andreas Sjödin 5.7082/158.59 bye; Stefan Gustafsson 8.1276/113.18 bye; Lenn Lindell 5.8950/248.73, Michael Joneskog 4.2175/274.53; Pontus Liberg 7.3443/84.80, Stefan Holmberg 9.9387/82.71; Anette Birkenes shut off, Benny Strand 8.6330/113.95 bye; Stefan Carlsson 12.2152/67.44, Åke Eliasson 7.0257/103.75; Mats Stefansson 4.0733/297.85, Jonas Malmqvist 8.0300/124.74; Pierre Rydberg 9.7668/88.54, Rimbert Vahlström 9.0438/94.24; Victor Jansson 15.8382/40.90, Micke Lindahl 4.0512/252.81; Adam Flamholc 3.8519/327.47, Mats Wicktor 4.6594/281.54

I've been to many races in many places but this is the first time I have seen Top Doorslammer since its inception. I will admit to being very excited about seeing it. I will have a shot at giving the class full coverage and see how we go. This would be a good time to say Good Morning to our very good buddy and Pro Mod racer Spencer Tramm who is kindly proof-reading this weekend's reports in case I make any silly errors. Thanks very much Spencer but we would of course prefer it if you were here.

Just in case we have any unitiated reading this report, Top Doorslammer runs over the eighth. Looked from here as if a couple of Odd Erik's crew were touching the car when he started his burnout, Chief Starter had a word with them immediately afterwards. Tyre spin at the hit, 1.5057 to sixty shows you how bad it was, shut it off and rolled through. I wasn't seeing things - one of Samuel's crew was definitely holding on to the car when it started its burnout, again the Chief Starter had words. 1.136 to sixty for Samuel, motor sounded to be misfiring, plenty left in there I think. Terrible shake for Andreas, from my place directly behidn the right lane I could see the tyres deforming under the body. 1.3964 to sixty, pedal, back on it then backed it off before the stripe. Stefan lost fire as he pulled forward to stage, restarted no problem. Maybe a planned launch, 1.4049 to sixty and off the gas by then. Lenn's team an early candidate for Best Appearing I'd say, the entire crew in matching outfits. 1.0139 to sixty for Michael, strong-looking pass. Lenn had problems getting off the line, 1.774 to sixty, on and off the throttle. Instant shake for Pontus, 1.1160 to sixty and off it. Spin for Stefan, 1.4446 to sixty. Both off the gas by about 100 feet. Anette's car looked to struggle to burn out and she shut it off on her return. Benny took the bye in his stunning Cobalt, instant tyre spin, 1.4776 at sixty feet and shut off by then as the car turned left. Instant shake and left turns for both Stefan and Åke, Åke's driver side door opened. 1.5193 sixty for Stefan and 1.2896 for Åke tell the tale. Nice run for Mats to take #1 spot at that point, 1.0575 to sixty and 2.7264/225.47 at 330 feet. Instant shake for Jonas, 1.7069 at sixty, the car was really jumping up and down and the motor note was going with it. Instant spin for Pierre, 1.3993 to sixty with motor screaming for mercy. Instant shake for Rimbert, 1.3222 to sixty and for Rimbert and idled through. Instant spin for Victor, pedalled it and thre was a bang and flash of flame. Great pass for Micke, stuck to the track and went, 1.0082 to sixty, the car was weaving about its lane some so more left in there. Fantastic run from Adam! 0.9948 to sixty, the car just squatted down and shot down the track. Shake for Mats, 1.2771 to sixty, a pedal and then back on it.

10:20

Super Gas Bike qualifying session 1

To the tune of Blankety Blank, just for you Kirstie. Magnus Pollack into #1 in the second pair at 9.9549/223.33. Next pair and Thomas Nordin took over #1, 9.5317/223.51, superb run off the trailer. Only six bikes made this session.

Super Comp Bike qualifying session 1

Nice Super Gas Bike run for Emil Ostlund in the second pair, 9.5424, the trick for a 9.50 appears to be to run along the centre line. 8.50 the index here though. Squeaker for Nichlas Sverin in the third pair, 8.4921. Next pair and Anders Gerdtsson took over the lead at 8.5678/257.88.

10:10

Comp Eliminator qualifying session 1

Stefan Winter had problems starting, pushed away. Bjørn Johansen took the bye, troubled run. Fantastic 7.333/300.84 for Jens Eklund in his Audi, in the other lane problems launching for Robin Norén. Half pass for Adam Andersson in what looked to me like the former Pro Mod campaigned by Danny Cockerill, brief hold for retrieval from the top end. Next pair and a bouncy ride for Mika Eloranta, front and back ends swapping turns to jump off the track, shut off by 330 feet. Weirdness for Daniel Jedborn's slingshot next pair, a few attempts at starting and then when he tried to come off the burnout the motor was still screaming, no option but to shut it off. Bouncy launch for Sören Andreasson's Volvo next pair, in the other lane Lars-Georg Johansson's 7.338 was good for #3. Last pair Pär Eriksson's Volvo and Rolf Simonsson's beautiful Camaro - I would happily marry that Camaro and have its children. Fantastic 6.9074/324.71 on a 7.41 index for Pär, good for #3. Alas when I looked up from typing about my love for Rolf's Camaro it was being pushed back. Engagement off I guess.

Pro Street qualifying session 1

Nice start for Daniel Hållestam in his stunning station wagon, 7.5084 but below the 7.60 class minimum. Nicely judged 7.6966 for Peter Trång next pair for #1 spot, in the other lane Tero Vainio had tyre spin at the hit. Same story for Micael Eriksson next pair, the car jumped in the air at the hit, I'd swear all four wheels were off for a moment. Roffe Plahn close to the guardrail in the first half, kept it away though. In the other lane a breakout for Lars Berglund at 7.5017 but from here his chute looked to rip in half on deployment, got it stopped OK though. A good go at Burnout of the Day for Peter Nordlund in his huge Ford Starliner followed by a 7.4808 breakout.

Stock / Super Stock qualifying session 1

Big tyre spin at the hit for Ari Körkkö in the first pair. In the fourth pair Björn Bondesson into #1 with Wheelie of the Day so far, in the other lane Eurodragster.com sponsor Nic Williams held his own in the wheelie stakes but sounded to be feathering the throttle in the second half. Bo Nylund into #2 next pair. Interesting to see the bonnet up on Lars Nyberg's car right up to the last moment, only being shut when he pulled forward to burn out. Good to see Rick McCann here after he and Carla had to change the motor yesterday, solid 10.062 on 10.40 index. Your top five Björn Bondesson, Lars Nyberg, Bo Nylund, Uffe Edwarsson and Lars Bj&oum;rklund.

Junior Dragster qualifying session 1

Hampus Sundqvist first to leave the line at the Tierp Internationals, 0.0212 to Theodor Brandt's 0.0939. 7.701 for Elina Paulsson in the third pair, that'll be one for a trip to the Headmaster's study I think. Mattias Flamholc a chip off the old black at 0.0415 good for #4 at that point, bumped down a spot by Balder Polsar at 0.0264 good for #2 next pair. Hampus Sundqvist's 0.0212 good for #1 at the end of the session and the top nine in the 0.0s with Theodor Brandt in that ninth place at 0.0939.

Super Street qualifying session 1

Garth Haworth and Ulf Axelsson opened the session with a pair of break-outs. Marie Wallin and Kent Forschner-Hell 0.001 apart at 11.169 to 11.170 next pair. Halvor Överby first into the 10.9s at 10.9903 in the third pair. Very unusual problems off the line for Tomas Hägg, motor cut out or off the gas pretty much at the hit, idled along the track.

Super Gas qualifying session 1

Motor zinged at the hit for Angelica Larsson in the first pair, didn't look like tyre spin so I guess jumped out of gear. Next pair and Annica Larsson first into the 9.9s at 9.9725. Patrik Wickman lost drive off the line, pulled over, then got drive back again just as the safety crew ran to his aid. Big twisty wheelie for Janne Noren, shut it off in the second half. Stefan Fallkvist pushed back before staging in the last run of the session, clean-up in his lane before Super Comp started.

Super Comp qualifying session 1

Great start for Gideon Liljegren in the first pair, straight into the 8.9s at 8.9661. Bo Ragnebro and Johanna Granholm's cars both looked to be caught by the breeze, moving about some towards the stripe. Superb 8.9010 by Matilda Sjöström-Amdersson in the penultimate pair to take the lead, her crew were worrying around the car just before starting but whatever it was didn't ail the car at all. Hampus Gisslén into #2 at 8.9337 in the last pair. Six of fourteen broke out in this session.

Good morning and welcome from Tierp Arena for our coverage of the Tierp Internationals brought to you in association with John Woolfe Racing.

After a somewhat stormy day yestetday with several biblical downpours today has dawned sunny and bright, very few clouds in the sky. There is a very lively crosswind out there but the track is shielded from the worst by the grandstands on both sides and sound barrier in the left lane.

As is usual when the timing data is provided by Time-Tree we are running split-screen report / result pages. To prevent repetition we will not be posting Sportsman times and speeds but we will post commentaries of everything notable occurring in each round; hopefully you will find that they complement one another. When the Pros start tomorrow we shall post the usual full reports and results. If you are reading this report first thing in the morning then you will see results from the Turtle Wax Internationals on the right; as soon as results start to be posted for this event that will change. Just hit Refresh every so often.

No webcasts today or tomorrow but our buddies at Smart TV will be presenting Web TV on Saturday and Sunday for a one-off payment of €15. Stay tuned to www.smarttv.se for details; because of our workload here any webcast enquiries directed to us will be routed straight to Deleted Items.

We must say a big Thank You to Cemoni, Christopher and Nils of Tierp Arena who have, as usual, gone above and beyond to accommodate us; in fact they have done so literally this time around as the Eurodragster.com staff were amongst the first guests in the just-finished and snazzily-appointed hotel rooms in the tower. A big Thank You also to Kjell Petterson and Tomas Pettersson for finding room for Your Reporter in what is a very busy Race Control.

Courtesy of Assistant Clerk of the Course Tomas Pettersson, today's provisional running order is available via the Event Index. Today is an exclusively Sportsman day with four cycles of qualifying scheduled. We are due to start with Junior Dragster so stay tuned and we will bring you the first results shortly after 09:00.
