Mika is quite OK, 'tis only a flesh wound and I would imagine that a bit of buffing will do the job. Thomas in his first run of the weekend had problems starting, one of his crew sprinted for a spanner from Kenneth's starter cart. Job done, fired up. 1.1023 to sixty for Kenneth, 1.2197 for Thomas, both bikes were heading left and Thomas' motor groaned. Both off the throttle before the eighth. 1.1058 to sixty for Kalle, 1.0990 for Elvira, Elvira's bike went the long way round heading for the guardrail but she stayed on the gas and pulled it back for a move up the ladder. Robert's motor cut out at the hit as is the way of PSB motors occasionally. 1.1265 to sixty for Anders, 4.5886/232.46 at the eighth then a drastic left move and he shut it off. Final qualifying:
18:55 EDRS Pro Nordic Supertwin qualifying session 3 (left lane first) Ismo Mäenpää 7.4343/280.37, Svein Olav Rolfstad 8.0560/251.87 ; Anna-Lena Asplund 9.8767/163.14, Greger Johansson 8.7073/228.04; Hans Olav Olstad 6.9757/279.50, Per Bengtsson no time; Trond Høiberget 8.4085/265.10, Vidar Ravnsborg 8.8430/181.57; Anders Hörnström 10.7153.135.41, Samu Kemppainen 6.5878/340.48 Svein Olav with the better sixty 1.2396 to 1.2912 but he had to feather the throttle as the bike got close to the centre line. Great start for Greger, 1.2929 to sixty on a cushion of nitro flames, Anna-Lena's motor sounded to be struggling. Greger's bike started to get close to the centre line near the eighth 5.2990/184.68, he feathered the throttle and got back on it briefly in the second eighth. Anna-Lena sounded to roll of the throttle past the eighth. Per by all accounts was self-flagellating last night after breaking his own rules getting on and off and on the throttle on yesterday's pass. Tyre up in smoke and the bike made a twitch to the left, Per got off the gas and played no further part. Nice run for Hans Olav, 1.2254 to sixty and 4.4799/281.25 to the eighth, looked to shut it off before the stripe. 1.5836 to sixty for Trond, 1.1559 for Vidar who had the much better eigth ET 5.2305/189.34 although he was feathering the throttle by then, Trond to the eighth in 5.6807/236.32 and on the gas all the way. 1.2487 to sixty for Anders and off the throttle shortly after. Great run for Samu, front end up for a long, long way. 1.1956 to sixty and 4.3602/287.69 at the eighth. Final qualifying:
17:40 EDRS Pro Nordic Top Fuel Motorcycle qualifying session 3 (left lane first) Jan Sturla Hegre 7.8621/185.89 bye; Peter Andersson-Ström 6.7477/328.27, Sverre Dahl 6.2257/371.64 1.0465 to sixty for Jan Sturla, 4.3370/234.88 at the eighth, the bike was going determinedly left all the way and Jan Sturla had to back off as the bike got very close to the guardrail. Great match between Peter and Sverre. Peter to sixty in 1.1362 to Sverre's 1.1001, Sverre with a clear advantage at the eighth 4.1261/299.67 to Peter's 4.3796/273.42. Smoke from Peter's motor in the shutdown area. Final qualifying:

Stefan was a long way down the shutdown area before we saw a parachute, got stopped OK though. Good to see The Maltese Lion on track at last. 0.8910 to sixty, a pedal, 2.3778/268.39 to 330 feet with another very brief pedal just after. 3.4398/398.82 at the eighth, cylinder out on the right side and from the car's body language it looked like the blower belt may have gone just before the thousand. Very short burnout for Liam. Didn't hurt and a fantastic pair of runs! Anita just away first, the much quicker sixty a meteoric 0.8402 to Liam's 0.9142, Anita had the quicker 330 foot but Liam's was faster at 2.1921/296.22 and 2.3260/299.50 respectively. After 330 feet both cars... well it was like someone sped the film up, they leapt forward. Anita to the eighth in 3.1601/422.54 and Liam 3.2818/427.22, again Anita quicker and Liam faster. Puff of smoke from Liam's motor before the thousand. Anita back into the threes. Micke with the much better sixty 0.8867 to Björn's 0.9605, Micke briefly pedalled by the Tree but was clearly pulling away at 330 feet 2.2882/289.54 to Björn's 2.4853/267.19, Micke still ahead at the eighth 3.2805/415.70 but had shut it off by then. Björn still on the gas at the eighth 3.5730/373.96 and looked to stay with it all the way. Far end crews mobilised, through binoculars it looked from here as if Björn had just nosed into the kitty litter. Björn has however edged Stefan out of tomorrow's ladder. How about that consistency from Jari? 0.8901 to Urs' 0.9137 with shake, Urs shut it off immediately and it looked like a few shards of metal came off the car. Jari went through 330 feet in 2.2961/293.96 and the eighth 3.2514/431.31, all candles lit and on the gas through the back door. His speed equates to 305.07 mph, another new PB, well done Jari and team! Final qualifying:

Relatively gentle looking and sounding launch for Åke, 1.1077 to sixty, didn't sound like full throttle to be honest. 4.3663/281.54 at the eighth. Mats' car didn't sound right in the burnout and we all heard something break as he got off the throttle. Markko took the bye, 1.0729 with shake and motor screaming, the Cuda turned hard left, nearly ninety degrees, but Markko pulled it back before hitting the guardrail almost side-on about 100 feet out - it was a good save, that could have been a head-on crash. Car was towed off by a quad which hopefully indicates no serious damage. Tiny burnout for Freddy, the tyres spinning slowly and stopped a couple of yards behind stage. Who kidnapped the real Freddy? 100-foot burnout for Niclas. Then Freddy had a go at a burnout but stopped about 80 feet out and came back. On the green Niclas was off and running, 0.9928 to sixty and 3.9229/305.43 at the eighth. Freddy sat there for 5.0095 seconds then hit it, shake just off the line, pedalled after sixty feet 1.0418 and was feathering the throttle after that. Long burnout by Jan, stopped at half track. Jan in pre-stage a long time before Andreas came in, then Jan jumped the beams. The lights ran as Jan reversed and Andreas just edged out of stage as the ambers ran, starting the clocks, but judging by his sixty foot time Andreas easily lost a second to the jump out of stage. Instant shake for Håkan and shut off. 1.0743 to sixty for Robert, 4.2438/285.56 at the eighth, didn't sound like the motor was on full throttle. Johan's motor stopped a second or so after starting but quickly fired up again. Nice match to start with between Per and Johan. 1.0464 to sixty for Per to Johan's 1.0152, Johan was going great guns at the eighth 4.0379/271.77 to Per's 4.2321/277.49 but then shut off by 1000 feet. Per on the gas all the way. David fired up but never moved forward and shut it off. Shake for Micke, 1.2625 to sixty and the passenger side door opened, the car was moving left and right but Micke kept at the pedalling, getting off the gas when the car made a hideous twitch and got close to the guardrail. 1.0505 to sixty for Micke and 1.0392 for Tero, Micke's motor sounded as iof it was on the verge of zinging and he shut it off before the eighth. 4.0648/311.42 to the eighth for Tero, on the gas all the way and up the ladder. Great match between Anders and Bruno. Anders to sixty in 1.0326 to Bruno's 1.0448, didn't look like either had shake. Looked glued together at the eighth 4.0932/295.24 for Anders to Bruno's 4.0411/293.64. Judging by Bruno's terminal speed he shut it off a touch early. Great match-up to start with for Mats and Roger, Roger just away first 0.0519 to 0.0699, Roger with the better sixty 0.9915 to Mats' 1.0119. Roger's Mustang was fishtailing slightly but he was not getting off it for anything, stormer at the eighth 3.9578/307.34 to Mats' 4.1781/258.87 and it looked from here that he had shut it off by then. Roger into the fives again. Final qualifying:
17:30 FIA Pro Stock qualifying session 3 (left lane first) Sampsa Palos 7.4528/327.27 bye; Bengt Ljungdahl 35.9317/26.86, Jan Ericsson 7.6503/225.19; Simon Gustafsson 49.0144/12.65, Christian Sagelv 6.9110/318.02; Michael Malmgren 6.9640/269.87, Magnus Pettersson 6.7186/330.07; Jimmy Ålund 6.5899/342.21, Thoms Lindström 6.7513/337.08 Sampsa's car hesitated off the line, maybe jumped out of gear, 1.5213 to sixty and then picked up. 5.0121/258.13 at the eighth, an improvement on Sampa's previous best to move up the ladder. Start line clean-up followed. Quite a short burnout by Bengt, was off the power before crossing the start line. Jan held whilst Bengt's team made last moment adjustments, one of Jan's team visibly unamused. Bengt courteously staged first but on the green hit instant shake, shut it off immediately. 1.1098 to sixty for Jan, 4.5328/240.86 at the eighth, the car moved gently to the right and Jan got off the throttle. Instant shake for Simon, off the throttle and rolled down the track, not quite making the traps so one of the top end crew gave the car a shove before retrieval arrived. No such problems for Christian, 1.0217 to sixty and 4.4534/257.76 at the eighth. Quite a short burnout by Michael but it didn't rob us of the superb theatrics of his front man. Michael got off the line in the left lane, 1.0321 to sixty, Magnus to sixty in 1.0156. Both drove through shake by the sound and feel of it. Michael to the eighth in 4.3899/262.77 and Magnus in 4.3344/264.84, Michael shut it off and had the chutes out before the stripe. Apparently unseen by anyone but me, one of Jimmy's crew managed to spray himself in the face with the bleach box hose whilst Michael was pulling forward to stage. 1.0117 to sixty for Jimmy, 1.0590 for Thomas, looked like slight shale for Jimmy but he had the better eighth 4.2613/271.22 to Thomas' 4.3524/267.33. Final qualifying:
17:10 FIA Top Methanol Funny Car qualifying session 3 (left lane first) Micke Larsson 17.6690/114.87 bye; Leif Andréasson 6.1490/290.32, Johnny Oksa 6.6759/284.21; Ari Pietilä 15.8919/115.31, Johan Lindberg 5.7241/417.63 Micke's first appearance this weekend and possibly nursing a sick motor as his burnout was the briefest stab of the throttle. Confirmed when he staged and idled up the track. Hazy rather than smoky burnouts for both Leif and Johnny. Relatively easy launches for both also, Leif to sixty in 1.0392 and Johnny in 1.0647. Johnny's FC got into a bounce at half track 4.1732/225.22, Leif's car which is usually a bouncer stayed on the level but his eighth was down some at 3.8539/324.52, it was almost as if both had driven through the clutch. Instant shake for Ari, off the gas. 0.9908 to sixty for Johan, a brief pedal and then stuck to the track, 3.8311/330.88 at the eighth, stayed on it all the way. Final qualifying:
17:00 FIA Top Methanol Dragster qualifying session 3 (left lane first) Stefan Gunnarsson shut off (bye); Jonnny Lagg 5.5230/414.43, Stefan Gunnarsson no time DQ Scheduled for a pair but Krister Johansson of Jonny Lagg's crew sprinted off stage right to find something so Stefan fired up for a bye. The old adage that starting a nitro motor makes it rain proven true again as within seconds of Stefan's motor starting he was signalled to shut off for sprinkles of rain. Krister came back puffing with what looked like a tyre gauge. Stefan shut off at 13:20 and after a number of showers, some heavy, interspersed with the usual hard work by the track crew Jonny and Stefan were signalled to fire up at 16:57. Interestingly, given that this was a pair of injected-nitro cars, Jonny's motor was started quite some time before Stefan's but it was nicely co-ordinated as they went forward to burn out at the same time. Stefan in the Last Chance Saloon left way before the lights ran and that's his weekend over. Jonny awaited the green and a great run, 0.9762 to sixty and 3.6688/346.82 at the eighth. Final qualifying:
13:10 Super Comp qualifying session 6 Kristina Nygren up from #10 to #5 in the first pair, 8.9160. 8.9158 good to take over #5 for Julie Nataas two pairs later. Side by side up to #9 and #10 for Terje Røisgård and Julia Borén Stolt, 8.9244 and 8.9344 respectively. Twelve of seventeen qualifiers in the 8.9s. 13:00 Stock / Super Stock qualifying session 6 If qualifying doesn't change in this session then Eurodragster.com sponsor Nic Williams and fellow Englishman Rick McCann will meet in E1. Erik Wallin moving up to #14 did the job, next pair Anders Hållén moved up to #14 bumping Erik down a place. Improvement for Rick McCann to 9.8855, stayed #21 at that point. Ufe Edwardsson and Lars Nyberg in stage and it started to rain. After a couple of iterations of rain / almost dry track / rain we got going again just before 13:00. Lars Nyberg up from #3 to #2 in the first pair after the restart. 08:40 Good morning and welcome from Tierp Arena for our coverage of the Tierp Internationals brought to you in association with John Woolfe Racing. Right now we have high overcast and in the last hour we have had a spot or two of rain, track crew were immediately on the case though. A big Good Morning to the Eurodragsterholics and also to Supertwin racer Asko Määttä who had to withdraw after a crankshaft failure. Sorry to hear about that Asko, we are missing you. Visit ppv.smarttv.se for details; because of our workload here any webcast enquiries directed to us will be routed straight to Deleted Items, as indeed will other queries which could easily be answered by reading our reports, the entry list etc. News of Mattias Wulcan after yesterday's Pro Mod crash is that he has a number of cracked ribs and punctured lungs, and that he is currently receiving industrial doses of painkillers. Björn Bondesson is fine after his back-over wheelie in his Super Stocker and we are told that the damage to his car is mainly cosmetic. Obviously the team will have to get the car back to the workshop to give it a proper going over but it sounds optimistic. As is usual when the timing data is provided by Time-Tree we are running split-screen report / result pages. To prevent repetition we will not be posting Sportsman times and speeds but we will post commentaries of everything notable occurring in each round; hopefully you will find that they complement one another. When the Pros run we shall post the usual full reports and results, and as ever we will try to update between each pair so keep hitting Refresh.
