Luca Carbonera is OK after a huge wheelie at 330 feet which threw him off the back of the bike. Luca slid for quite some way along the track behind the bike before he got himself up and walked to the safety crew who were sprinting to his aid.

Garry Bowe 7.567/296.48...

17:40

FIA Top Fuel Dragster eliminations round 2

Thomas Nataas 4.854/490.76 def. Timo Lehtimäki 5.465/419.09

Great run for Thomas. Timo got away first 0.073 to 0.167 but it was all Thomas from then on, 0.904 sixty foot to Timo's 0.975 and 3.301/409.54 to Timo's 3.672/357.57 at the eighth, looked from here as if Timo had cylinders out and he was off it before the stripe. 304.94 mph for Thomas.

Micke Kågered 5.157/363.31 def. Stig Neergaard 6.961/175.66

Micke away first 0.117 to 0.110, Stig had the much better sixty foot 0.880 to 0.939 but it looked like Stig lost a blower belt just before the eighth 3.574/256.68 to Micke's much quicker 3.374/407.00. A bang from Micke's motor and looked like two pieces of bidywork left the car at about 1000 feet.

17:35

FIA Top Methanol Dragster eliminations round 2

Dave Wilson 5.384/426.57 def. Peter Schöfer 5.426/418.69

Great race! Grumpy away first 0.119 to 0.125 but Peter had the better sixty foot 0.927 to 0.983, the nitro advantage was beginning to tell at the eighth though as Grumpy's 3.621/362.64 was 22 kmh faster than Peter's 340.80.

Timo Habermann 5.394/421.04 def. Dennis Habermann 5.480/418.93

Timo strapped what looked like a car-length holeshot on Dennis 0.061 to 0.407. 3.535/342.52 to the eighth for Timo to Dennis' game 3.607/338.04 but no way was Dennis catching Timo.

17:30

FIA Pro Modified eliminations round 2

Micke Gullqvist 6.046/387.55 def. Andy Robinson 15.610/113.63 DQ

Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy gave this one away with a -0.066 red light and then hit bad shake into the bargain. 1.013 to sixty for Micke, storming 3.994/302.42 at the eighth.

Bruno Bader 6.211/369.61 def. Marc Meihuizen 6.175/376.40

There's a pretty good demonstration of how you can run slower and win. The lights ran very quickly when both cars were instage and Marc was barely up on the two-step. Bruno strapped a 0.065 to 0.484 holeshot on him. Bruno had the better sixty foot 1.022 to 1.054 but since the eighth-mile incrementals disappeared quickly you'll have to take my word for it that Marc had the better eighth, couldn't make up the holeshot lead though.

17:20

FIA Top Methanol Funny Car eliminations round 2

Arvid Grødem 5.704/402.11 def. Ulf Leanders 6.519/382.36

Racer tape on the left side of Arvid's Mustang body with the words "Good luck Arvid from the boys TMFC 5" written on the tape. Ulf with a chance to back up yesterday's 5.684 and 409.38. Ulf away first 0.096 to 0.118, Arvid had the much better sixty foot 0.978 to Ulf's 0.997. The Leanders FC then hit shake about 200 feet out, tyres started to smoke and eventually the FC turned hard left, looked to be up on four wheels at one point. 3.745/320.49 to the eighth for Arvid, shut-off 4.400/285.19 for Ulf. The racer tape did the job as Arvid not only took the race but blasted his Personal Best, well done Arvid!

Danny Bellio 5.932/392.66 bye

Bye for Danny as no results in the round 1 race between Jarmo and Deszoe. 1.008 to sixty feet, 3.916/313.14 at the eighth.

17:10

FIA Pro Stock eliminations round 2

Micke Callin 7.512/229.66 def. Thomas Lindström 6.883/328.18 DQ

Thomas gave this one to Micke with a -0.067 red. 1.053 to sixty for Micke and he must have realised that he had won since he was off it before the eighth 4.589/243.83.

Jimmy Ålund 6.744/330.73 def. Michael Malmgren 9.218/167.67

Would we see a classic Jimmy and Michael staging duel? The answer is no. Michael got away first 0.053 to 0.066, Jimmy had the better sixty foot 1.017 to 1.106, Michael obviously not happy with something because he was backing off it by 330 feet and was totally off it by the eighth. 4.349/262.39 to the eighth for Jimmy.

17:05

UEM Top Fuel Bike eliminations round 2

Peter Svensson 5.991/372.78 bye, Kai Selkämäa no show

Kai not able to repair damage from the previous round so a bye for Peter and another chance to back up yesterday's 375.55 speed. And back it up he did, well done Peter and Sören! 1.071 to sixty feet, 3.986/318.19 at the eighth and into the record books again at 375.55 kmh.

Steve Woollatt 6.436/322.72 def. Petri Paljakka 18.492/73.13

Petri reinstated after the first round race, again intending just to ride down the track for points. A nice run for Steve, one of those classic straight passes by The Dealer. 1.109 to sixty feet and 4.168/284.22 at the eighth.

17:00

UEM Supertwin eliminations round 2

Samu Kemppainen 10.961/120.82 bye, Svein Olav Rolfstad no show

Svein Olav not able to repair damage after his previous pass so Samu took the bye. Went to about 500 feet under power then shut it off.

Job Heezen 6.736/336.99 def. Joachim Riemer no time DQ

Job left on Joachim 0.127 to 0.236, probably just as well given what happened a few seconds later. Job well in front at the eighth 4.413/266.02, Joachim's bike was moving left and he just barely avoided the eighth-mile reflectors but he then crossed the centre line and took out the 1000-foot reflector.

16:55

UEM Pro Stock Bike eliminations round 3

Rasmus Olesen 7.158/302.46 def. Kalle Lyrén 7.312/295.63

A big cheer from the crowd as Kalle and Rasmus appeared around the corner. Kalle got a visible jump on Rasmus out of the hole but Rasmus chased him down and was past by the eighth.

Jesper Thiel 7.199/296.68 def. Fredrik Fredlund no time

Looked from here as if Fredrik was bulbed, don't think Jesper could believe it either as he sat there for 1.227 before leaving. Fredrik gave the starter a "What the heck?" gesture, the starter pointed to his handset, Fredrik shook his head and then rode down the track. 1.122 to sixty for Jesper, 4.591/247.25 at the eighth.

16:45

The track has been dried and we have UEM semi-finalists in the pairing lanes. We will be restarting shortly with Pro Stock Bike.

Simon has posted a set of pit notes which you can check out via the Event Index page.

14:05

Just as the lunch break ended rain started to fall. It's only light rain so hopefully just a shower... correction, it's now hammering down. Stay tuned.

13:30

Super Pro ET eliminations round 2 winners

Bert Gorselitz (8.99) 9.039/242.69, Eric Angeloni (7.75) 7.708/284.67, Patrick Duboise (7.66) 7.882/259.26, Norbert Schneider (8.22) 8.231/265.73, Marc Henney (7.64) 7.667/282.70, Thomas Haas (8.30) 8.408/255.54, Jürgen Schubert (8.79) 8.854/243.83, Carlo Heym (8.72) 8.779/246.77

Pro ET eliminations round 3 winners

Daniel Vetterl (10.50) 10.593/200.38, Lukas Seppi (11.98) 12.161/181.38, Reinhard Garbers (10.10) 10.221/208.70 bye, Peter Gierlach (11.45) 11.494/185.39

Sam Young followed with a superb 9.754/210.56 demonstration pass in his electrically-powered Beetle.

13:10

FIA Pro Modified eliminations round 2

Micke Gullqvist 6.036/387.48 def. Tami Brander 14.546/106.02

250-foot burnout by Tami proved very popular with the crowd. Tami got the jump on Micke but Micke had the better sixty foot time and then it became academic as Tami hit shake about 200 feet out, tyres smoked then the car turned right and Tami was off the throttle. I think it's best to assume you're not going to get any incrementals this round as they are vanishing within seconds of the cars crossing the line. I will do my level best of course.

Andy Robinson 9.142/226.40 bye

Bye for Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy from yesterday's double DQ. Dodged a bullet, too: 0.065 RT then tyes started to shake passing the Tree. 1.170 to sixty feet and a long pedal, back on it briefly just before the eighth 6.079/214.02 then drove it through.

Marc Meihuizen 6.245/369.61 def. Johan Lindberg 7.814/199.81

Marc away first 0.035 to 0.071, Johan had the better sixty 1.057 to 1.074. Johan's tyres started to shake maybe 300 feet out, the Bird started to move left and right and from my seat in Race Control I pretty much saw both sides of it. Johan tried hard to stay with it but had to back it off just before the eighth 4.425/227.33, Marc long gone 4.125/294.31.

Bruno Bader 8.999/156.22 def. Urban Johansson 6.155/372.53 DQ

-0.157 for Urban handed this one to Bruno. 0.069 RT for Bruno, 1.026 to sixty then hit shake at pretty much the same place as Johan in the last race, the 'Vette turned hard left and Bruno did a good job of keeping it in his lane. Slowing 4.694/181.33 at the eighth but a win is a win.

12:55

FIA Pro Stock eliminations round 1

Michael Malmgren 6.827/330.08 def. Richard Sundblom 6.836/327.64 DQ

Very tight -0.007 red light for Richard gave Michael this one on a plate. Alas the other incrementals vanished from the screen within moments.

Thomas Lindström 6.835/327.74 def. Jonas Dantanus 7.023/322.05

Dante deep-staged which will have affected his ET and was up on the revs for a fair while with Thomas in pre-stage. Despite Dante's deep stage Thomas had the much better RT and had Dante covered by a long way. Incrementals vanished again.

Micke Callin 6.772/329.33 bye, Jan Palmqvist shut off

Problems for Jan in the bleach box, the crew took the front end off the car looking for something but the Chief Starter waved Micke into stage. 0.074 RT, 1.034 to sixty feet and 4.365/261.35 at the eighth.

Jimmy Ålund 6.752/330.03 def. Sampsa Palos 6.909/327.29

Sampsa got the joump on Jimmy 0.044 to 0.094 but that was it so far as the better incrementals were concerned. 1.019 to sixty for Jimmy to Sampsa's 1.079 and a big advantage at the eighth 4.351/262.10 to 4.483/258.79.

12:45

FIA Top Methanol Dragster eliminations round 1

Dave Wilson 6.677/310.50 def. Derek Flynn 12.322/67.22

Grumpy left Eurodragster.com sponsor Derek for dead off the line 0.142 to 0.286, visible holeshot, then his tyres went up in smoke a few feet out, 1.160 to sixty to Derk's much better 0.978. At that point we thought it was all over for Grumpy but when the smoke cleared Derek was off the throttle and had a chute out, Grumpy back on the gas before the eighth 4.520/210.46 and quickly overhauled the cruising Gold RV dragster.

Peter Schöfer 5.414/417.48 def. Paul Ingar Udtian 5.561/414.06

Paul Ingar was just plain outrun in this one. he was away first 0.078 to 0.118 but Peter was quicker to sixty feet 0.931 to 0.968 and the better eighth, very consistent pass with Peter's qualifying effort.

Timo Habermann 5.443/41.76 def. Esko Raisvuo 6.581/341.17

Esko's burnout sounded very muted, not the usual abrupt on-off of an injected-nitro car. Kirstie and fellow photographer Julian Hunt stood directly behind Esko's car on start-up put their hands out as if it were raining so I guess that Esko's car was exhausting unburnt fuel. Timo left first 0.070 to 0.118, cylinders out at the hit for Esko also betrayed by his sixty foot of 1.189 to Timo's 0.928. Esko's motor was hesitating towards the eighth 4.459/291.31 to Timo's storming 3.564/337.78, Esko stayed on it most of the way but Timo had him well covered.

Dennis Habermann 5.533/416.84 def. Fred Hanssen 5.525/419.34

All left-lane wins so far in this round, Fred in the left, would the run continue? And the answer was no, holeshot win. Fred went into stage and continued edging forward, ending up in deep stage, the lights ran and Fred sat and looked at the green, 0.318 RT to Dennis' 0.034. It was pretty much over for Fred at that point, 0.964 to sixty for Dennis to Fed's 1.007 and Dennis had the better eighth 3.643 to 3.659, holeshot win.

12:25

FIA Top Methanol Funny Car eliminations round 1

Ulf Leanders 9.507/143.98 bye

Ulf on a bye by dint of his top qualifying spot. 0.975 to sixty feet and then shake, the motor note started to rise and Ulf got off the throttle.

Arvid Grødem 6.109/293.08 def. Rob Turner 11.526/109.79

Big jump for Arvid at the green 0.073 to 0.263 and had the better sixty foot time 1.035 to 1.101. Rob got to about 250 feet and his tyres started to smoke then the FC turned hard right, Rob off the throttle and had his hands full keeping it on the straight and narrow. 3.849/311.69 to the eighth for Arvid and then at about 1000 feet the blower burst plate blew and a chute deployed.

Danny Bellio 5.916/397.04 def. Jürgen Nagel 6.434/358.63

Danny got a visible holeshot on Jürgen 0.127 to 0.299 and had the better sixty 1.016 to 1.117. Both going great guns but then from here it looked as it Jürgen's tyres started to turn and he was losing time, 4.234/287.45 at the eighth to Danny's 3.928/315.55, Jürgen off the throttle before the stripe.

Jarmo Kuutniemi no time DQ, Dezsoe Krivan no time DQ

Eurodragster.com sponsor Dez got an instant red and then Jarmo crossed lanes before the 330 foot reflector. Initially Jarmo was adjudged the winner as he took a green but then it was announced that both were DQ'd.

12:10

FIA Top Fuel Dragster eliminations round 1

Timo Lehtimäki 6.454/289.29 def. Risto Poutiainen 12.334/110.31 DQ

-0.076 red light for Risto handing it to Timo who really dodged a bullet on this one. 0.952 to sixty and then about 250 feet out his tyres went up in smoke, Timo stayed with it to the eighth 3.908/276.09 and then the dragster made a big move to the right getting close to the centre line. Timo got off the throttle to pull it straight and then gave it another quick squirt. Risto quickly off the throttle, saw the red I guess.

Micke Kågered 8.495/146.35 def. Anita Mäkelä 13.379/130.74

Old friends and rivals and practical jokers in this one. Identical 0.113 RTs then Anita's tyres went up in smoke and there was flame from the motor. Anita off the throttle by the Tree. 0.959 to sixty for Micke, couldn't see what occurred behind Anita's smoke but he sounded to be off the throttle at about 330 feet. Two Championship contenders out in the first round.

Stig Neergaard 4.973/415.01 def. Urs Erbacher 6.751/213.37

Eurodragster.com sponsor Urs with a chance to get a points advantage with other contenders out, but the chance gone in a cloud of smoke. Urs got away first 0.056 to Stig's 0.067, Stig had the better sixty foot 0.901 to 0.956, Urs' tyres started to smoke about 250 feet out, Urs stayed with it for a fair while blackstriping the track but Stig was way ahead at the eighth 3.336/393.09 to 3.807/288.25, Stig off it about 1100 feet out. Advantage Timo points-wise.

Thomas Nataas 4.929/482.48 def. Andy Carter 9.390/137.85

Andy away first 0.061 to 0.133 but Thomas started to make it up by sixty feet 0.933 to 0.965. Andy's tyres started to smoke about 300 feet out and he was off the throttle before the eighth, Thomas looked to be on the gas pretty much all the way to the stripe.

11:40

UEM Pro Stock Bike eliminations round 1

Rasmus Olesen 7.123/304.24 Stavros Svrachnos 7.416/292.48

Rasmus dodged a bullet on his bye run earlier. Stavros got the jump in him 0.026 to 0.041 but Rasmus quickly reeled him in. 1.133 to sixty to Stavros' 1.192, the much better eighth 4.564 to 4.745.

Kalle Lyrén 7.258/297.41 def. Gert-Jan Laseur 7.508/286.02

Kalle just had the jump off the line 0.127 to 0.134 and Gert-Jan wasn't helped by his motor hesitating a touch at the hit. Gert-Jan tried hard to chase Kalle down but the Eurodragster.com blogger was out in front.

Fredik Fredlund 7.139/301.24 bye

Bye for Fredrik with an odd number of racers in the ladder, 1.132 to sixty and 4.555 to the eighth.

Jesper Thiel 7.150.298.64 def. Martin Bishop 7.401/289.33

Jesper in imperious form, got the jump on Martin 0.051 to 0.067 and had the better sixty foot 1.100 to 1.153, then the much better eighth 4.551 to 4.708.

11:40

UEM Top Fuel Bike eliminations round 1

Peter Svensson 6.009/357.04 bye

Very nice run indeed for Peter. 1.082 to sixty feet, some fishtailing at the eighth 3.989/319.83 but Peter had it covered. Not enough to back up yesterday's speed, yet.

Kai Selkämäa 7.049/325.19 bye, Nate Gagnon no show

No sign of Nate, no word why. 1.242 to sixty for Kai, 4.698/266.31 at the eighth, didn't sound quite as gentle a set-up as yesterday, particularly straight pass.

Petri Paljakka 25.835/48.01 def. Jaska Salakari 11.996/126.89 DQ

We were told yesterday that Petri has motor damage so would be staging for points. Not quite but he just rode it down the track whilst Jaska disappeared into the distance, 1.577 to sixty feet, cylinders out off the line and that situation not changing until there was smoke, a flash of flame and a yellow nitro cloud and something came off the bike at half track setting a new altitude record for bike parts. Jaska was DQ'd as the part of his bike went into the other lane so Perti goes through with his wounded bullet.

Steve Woollatt 6.433/342.25 Ian King 6.463/367.24

Steve away first 0.162 to 0.178, Ian had the better sixty 1.102 to 1.122, just before half track Ian's motor sounded to hesitate and the bike twitched, Steve with the better eighth 4.205 to 4.307, Steve got the stripe by 0.046.

11:25

UEM Supertwin eliminations round 1

Samu Kemppainen 6.864/332.20 def. Roel Koedam 6.892/316.33

First race and first shock as the #1 qualifier is ousted. Samu got a big jump off the line 0.074 to 0.169, Roel's increm, entals were better to to the identical eighths of 4.514 but then Samu pulled ahead and squeaked it at the stripe. Two very clean runs, front wheels up for a couple of hundred feet, no shake. PiPPi kindly got in touch to tell us that Samu's run was a huge PB so congratulations to him.

Svein Olav Rolfstad 7.334/223.81 def. Hans Olav Olstad 14.837/33.23

Hans Olav's motor went away about 330 feet out, starting to smoke and then spluttering to a halt, SveinOlav took the stripe.

Joachim Riemer 7.372/258.03 def. Per Bengtsson 7.436/309.75

Joachim's in as an alternate for Jan Sturla Hegre front wheel took an age to come down, thumped down about 300 feet out. Per's bike was headed right and got close to the centre line, he feathered the throttle and got off it in the second half.

Job Heezen 6.682/341.76 def. Lorenz Stäble 6.880/330.23

Great race! Job away first 0.057 to 0.084 and had the better sixty foot 1.160 to Lo's 1.217. Both straight down the middle of their lanes, clean runs, a little fishtailing from Lo but he's used to that. 4.403 to the eighth for Job to Lo's 4.585.

UEM Pro Stock Bike eliminations round 1

Stavros Svrachnos 7.437/289.75 def. Kerl-Heinz Weikum 7.493/268.88

#7 v #8 so should be the closest race. Close it was too, the bikes side-by-side all the way but Stavros squeaked it out at the top end.

Kalle Lyrén 7.336/292.72 def. Martin Newbury 8.022/225.49

Martin got a big jump on Kalle off the line but Kalle had caught him by 330 feet, Martin shut it off at about 1000 feet.

Gert-Jan Laseur 7.589/280.22 def. Anders Abrahamsson 7.578/276.41

Gert-Jan away first 0.029 to 0.061, all of Anders' incrementals were better but Gert-Jan had the advantage and took it by 0.021.

Fredrik Fredlund 7.223/297.90 def. Len Paget 8.019/239.80 DQ

-0.025 red light from Len trying to make up Fredrik's performance advantage, handed it to Fredrik.

Jesper Thiel 7.129/298.31 def. Elvira Karlsson 7.548/280.40

Elvira pulled a big holeshot on Jesper 0.181 to 0.303 but Jesper had it made up by 330 feet. We believe a new PB for Elvira, well done Elvira!

Martin Bishop 7.409/284.74 def. Charalambos Bousinis 8.925/165.44

Storming 0.004 RT for Bish to 0.167 and was quickly pulling away. Smoke and flame from Charalambos' motor at about 400 feet, we have clean-up of metal pieces in his lane.

Rasmus Olesen staged (bye)

Motor stopped a few seconds after starting. Re-started no problem. Burnout and then looked like problems getting the bike in gear, shut off and frantic work on the bike which then wouldn't re-start. Finally fired up and staged to take the green.
