It is raining at Kunmadaras, neither UEM nor FIA have come out for Session 2 yet.

I went to see Marco Maurischat, who is happy to announce he has just started a co-operation with autoteile-guenstig.de, an on-line car parts dealer, and the car has just been decorated with their logo in time for Kunmadaras. About the Kunmadaras track he says it needs more runs on it to great, but he enjoys his weekend very much, the facilities are nice, the organisers have done a good job with the event and people are overall very friendly. A good opportunity for testing says Marco, who intended to run in Malmö this weekend when the Kunmadaras offer to run exhibit runs came along. In two weeks Marco will be exhibiting the car in Hamburg together with Germany's biggest car magazine, Street magazine. Busy man indeed Mr. Maurischat.

From the middle of the last Pro session only the right hand lane was open. This will be the case until the second Pro session has been completed. Thus it is taking much longer to complete a session. After Q2 some repairs need to be done in the left hand lane and there is a strong wish from the organizer to try to get a third Pro session with both lanes open. They do realise at the moment that the condition of the two lanes is very different and they want to do what they can have more runs in that lane after minor repair work to one spot on the surface.

Hans Olav Olstad no #1 qualifier ran 6.96 sec/334 in round #4 of qualifying. He said after the run that the only thing they did between last run Friday and today was to adjust the ignition and work with the timing map.

Mats Eriksson on track in the first exhibition run resulted in 9.84. He said after the run that it was real slippery.

UEM Championship Promoter Keith Bartlett has brought Santa Pod crew to Hungary to assist in running the event together with local S-Riders Club staff. Here Keith and Darren Prentice are talking with Veidec Racing Pro Stock Bike team manager Roger Lyrén in the start area.

Team Sovereign Racing Jesper Thiel is #1 qualifier in Pro Stock Bike after four runs with a 7.174. Last run was 7.22 sec/292 km. Kalle Lyrén also 7.22 in the fourth session.

Rickard Gustafsson is always a top contender in Funny Bike. Rickard's 6.91 sec run yesterday was quickest of the field by far.

Marco Maurischat's first exhibition attempt on track resulted in7.82 sec/300 km over the quarter mile.

Jari Halinen and Risto Poutiainen are the two Top Fuel drivers on site in Kunmadaras. Both up in smoke soon after the start and the ETs and speeds nothing to write home about. However as always the crowd enjoyed them watch them on track and there will be another session later today.

All three Pro Mod teams on site lined up to run; Mats Eriksson, Andy Robinson and Maro Maurischat.

Nate Gagnon of Canada at Kunmadaras, his first time ever in the UEM Drag Bike Championship. In Kunmadaras Nate and Ian King are the only two contenders in Top Fuel Bike. Nate so far 8.66 sec /253 km working hard with the bike to keep it in the groove. Ian so far 8.011/296 km.

Ian King minutes before his second run.
